I grew up there in the 1950s and early 60s. The memories of the duck pin bowling alley, the pool, the arcade, the pure sand (best anywhere), clam fritters for 5 cents, and “just being” remain magic.
THIS IS FOR 2016, PLEASE READ. IT'S VERY TRUE & SOMETHING MUST BE DONE! Nice video, except people don't really know it's more run down till they experience it for themself!!!! lol SMH You still can have fun there & staff are usually nice, but be aware of the nasty food & sticky unclean booths + tables. They charge you more than they should for food you should be throwing out and not putting in your mouth!!! lol And they got run down things like the water slide and arcade. Which you will need to keep asking for tokens back. And you will see lots of machines out of order or with tape on the slot where you enter tokens. Also, you will need plenty of money. They are kinda greedy. Like, the little shop there (which closes early) and the parking. Plus, charging for each person just to walk in. The women's rest room had urine all on the floor & you step on it trying to use the toilet. Also, it smells like pure urine in there. The ice cream is really good, but as soon as you get it watch out!!!! It melts everywhere, JFS!!!! =/ (At least beach was clean when we went & the boardwalk. & Ocean was nice). THE OWNER NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO RUN A PLACE, BEFORE IT IS SHUT DOWN!!!!

Good times at Ocean Beach with my family as a child....I'm trying to visit Connecticut soon❤
