This weeks video is a collection of footage from a tracking session, where I was playing guitar, at EastWest Studios in Hollywood.
It's a historic studio where Frank Sinatra, The Beach Boys, Tom Petty, Red Hot Chili Peppers and many many more recorded some of their biggest records.

This is the absolute coolest backstage pass to a bigtime session, replete with inside tips on what to play and what sounds were required, I've ever seen. Thanks so much!
Tim - You're a blessing! A regular guy, and a great player, who enjoys playing, sharing, and taking us beyond riffs and overdriven shredding. Ever Onward my Friend!
Thanks Tim. I so much enjoy these informative behind the scenes gems.
I wish there were more session players making videos like this - giving a real insight into what sessions in top studios look like. Thanks for sharing with us Tim!

Nice to see these behind the scenes. Thanks Tim
Wow tim that strat sounds incredible. Beautiful guitar all the right kind of things in one strat.
Got turned on to your channel by another session guitar player while I was out tracking in Atlanta. Awesome videos, man! The combination of conceptual instruction for sessions, and breakdowns of all your set ups from day to day really makes for videos that feel rewarding and informative.
That was really cool to see behind the scenes of an iconic recording studio. Thanks Tim.

Its so nice to see magic made off the cuff (so to speak)..... improvisation at its best by the master....... love ya work.
This is awesome!
Anything with Tim is just awesome!! :)
R.J. - your stuff is always awesome too!
Daaamn, this is the highest quality content, really appreciate :)
You´re the man, Tim!
The reason I love watching you so much is as a guitarist myself you reinforce the fact that I'm on the right track with the subtleties and not always trying to be overbearing you only play what the song needs. As a rock guitaristbive found it difficult to find players w that like mind. Because my influences are different iv molded a certain sound. I play w alot of evtended chords and jazz chords mixed in to accent or modulate from the traditional rock sound. This confuses musicians in my circles lol. I play thirds and play modal and i loke the way harmonic minor scales blend w the pentatonics. I love it man. Keep the content coming
Amazing video, Tim-- loved this!
Keep making these session videos! They’re really interesting to watch
very interesting to see how sessions work - thanks !
So cool to get inspired by great session guitarists like Tim etc.. for my recordings, back in the day I had to figure out tunes off the vinyl which does add a mystery to it, most of the time I had it right by ear the way a lot of tunes was actually played except if it was in some weird open tuning, a lot of tunings I figured out or would play the tunes in another way..
Thanks for sharing this session. I also loved the grammy videos . Your very generous.
I remember working for legendary music producer Bebu Silvetti and listening to recording sessions stories about great musicians and once come along this Tim Pierce guy (I’m talking about early 90s) and he’d just come with a guitar and a small Zoom multiefect pedal right into the mixer. Super sound in multiple Latin albums!!!!!
Love those tones.
Thanks Tim! You're the best!
This is why I love this channel! Thank you, Tim!
On a side note - of COURSE ProTools crashed hahaha
I have such a love/hate relationship with that software.
Thank you, I really enjoyed watching this!!!
More like this please:). Greeings from Norway!

Wow! Thanks Tim!
Thanks for the tour!
Enjoyed that a lot. Thanks!
I wasn’t expecting the gig bags for those amazing guitars
The studio version of the first song is on Spotify and while I don't speak a word of Portuguese, it's actually quite a nice song. Mostly thanks to the epic session musicians behind it, of course ;-) awesome video!
Wow, thanks for sharing your experience, was great to be there with you
Super dry kind of surf-arpeggio as outro of the song(?) That’s nice! And the dreamy bending stuff too.
More fun than one human being should be allowed!
Thank you Tim!!!!
Loooooooovely video, Tim, as usual! Love to see you in action, recording in studio, at home or not! But I do want to know who are those Brazilian fellowsyou mentioned. They're my fellow Contrymen, you know? Thanks!
Awesome video Tim!!
Living the dream man
Tim, I've been watching your channel for quite some time. I tell ya, I've worked behind the glass for years as engineer/producer/mixer and sometimes step into the other side as a player. I've never had the pleasure to work with you, but if given the chance I just know by your demeanor and the way you approach your craft on these videos it would be a beautiful, enriching, musical, magical experience. Did I just fanboy all over you? Yeah, I guess I did. 😎
Great video Tim! And wow Sean Hurley from John Mayer's band!
That was so cool !
Great post…so damn tasteful Tim :)
Tim, thanks!
O gosh! I didn't heard that! Greetings from Brazil, brother! Niterói, Rio de Janeiro!
Tim you are the freakin man. One of my favorite solos you played on is from the late 90s and it’s from an obscure artist: Blue Skies by Bryan Duncan. What a solo!
Bryan Duncan is a keyboard player
Mr. Moogie!! Tiago Iorc!! Big Fellas and the Master Tim
GOLD!
Ahhh the dream life.....guess somebody has to live it. Sweet !
Great video. If I may be so bold as to make an observation: turning the live chamber behind studio 2 into an amp room is criminal. That chamber was probably definitive of a great many 60s hits. That said, the facility outside of the live rooms and control rooms was always horrific, so you have to give East West a ton of credit for making all of that so nice.
Very cool. Love your inventive mind :D
So cool
Anavitoria’s songs. This is amazing!
I saw a DIG on the key setup. I have Tim Pierce pedal from jrockett which I really love.
If you get to spend a day in that studio. No matter what else, life must be great.
I could absolutely do this, this sounds like a lot of fun!
Awesome
The dreaminess of those Fender basses so perfectly accentuated by Debussy
Sean Hurley, yes boy
some really nice tone going on
Greatest Ever!
Nice lab man !!
that would be a hell of a rehearsal space.
The Anderson compliments your playing very well.
Hi Tim! I've been playing for about 15 years now and have a good feeling with the major/minor soloing and started to delve into modes last year but my chord knowledge is still just terrible! So I thought I'd ask if you could maybe make a video explaining you're take on basic chords and how you view them? All the very best! Keep up the great work! :)
This is quite good
this man has the best job in the world.
Tim is da dude.
Producer Brazil !!!
Great video in which Tim channels Daniel Lanois...not a bad thing! Of course, Tim is the greatest...
Brazil
Way cool Tim
Hello Tim, Thank you for a great video. Are you printing all the delays into ProTools or is the delay set on monitor only?
