you get much better results than the typical freeze delay/delay ctrl trig menu, by setting Send to about 14, then locking the scene delay "Send" param to "0" with fdbk up all the way, volume up all the way, then set the time differently for every beat-repeat. the reason you set it to 14 instead of just 1 or something, is because it *zips* when fading if you dont, in a nasty way but i think 14 is the sweet spot when sliding the fader to zero on the delay send when set to lock in the secondary menu.

I appreciated the explanation of the send at 0/1+ . I’m gonna have to watch it a couple more times to wrap my head around it. But it works, thx!

now assign the send to the fader to go to Zero and you can simply throw the fader to stutter edit. Then add in a little movement of the timing to the fader to and it gets wobbly stutter like the 404.

Thanks for the super comprehensive tutorial btw. This is one of the many things that make OT perfect for glitch/idm (sorry:) type of music. Bear ni mind people, you don't have to use master track for this.

Awesome tutorial. Super helpful man. Hope you keep them coming. Maybe you can build on this tutorial to show how to bring in other sounds like vocals and so on, as you do in some of your tracks. Thanks!

Very helpful. Nice beat too. So do you have to constantly swap into and out of delay ctrl trig mode during a performance?

I usually just live in delay ctrl mode. I don't really tend to trigger samples manually or play stuff chromatically (especially because the pitch range is so limited), and if I want to quick mute stuff, I'll either use FUNC-[the track number] or if you hit the MIX button you can quick mute there.
I also don't tend to use slices that often so that mode isn't super useful to me (something I should probably dive into more) and I don't really know what the slots page does so I should probably look into that too lol

Thanks for another useful video SMB! I have a quick question if anybody would be able to help me out. I've used Track 8 on most of my compositions, but really like this effect. Is it possible to perform this on a single track? Like the drum track for example.

    • @sadmadbad

You can do this on any track that uses delay as one of its FX!
