Thank you! Geez, really? Jiffy Pop Pancakes. Jiffy mixes are still around and are a great option. I love the smaller package. I'm not cooking for a small army! I don't need the huge box of bisquick I used to use! Lol
Many of these are still around. Eggs in a nest is would be an egg in a nest of shredded potatoes-hash browns. We call the egg in toast eggs in a hole. Chipped beef on toast has always been called _ _it on a shingle by our family members that were in the military.
My husband's family called it peek-a-boo eggs. I love "real" corned beef hash on the crispy side. I alway have to ask at restaurants if it's home made...alot of places use the canned stuff.
Has anybody seen, a dog dyed dark green? About two inches tall, with a strawberry blond paw, sun glasses and a bonnet, and designer jeans with appliques on it. The dog that brought me so much joy left me wallowing in pain. Quiche Lorraine!
It's not Mawpo. It's May, like the month, po. I remember it. I make porridge still, old school, and drizzle it with maple syrup to this day. Eggs in a nest I make as an occasional Sunday breakfast.
I remember cooking poached eggs in an egg poacher as a kid in the 1950's and 1960's . We would put water in the bottom of the pan and put from one to three cracked eggs in the small holders / molds . Once the water started boiling , we would put the lid on and in about three minutes they were done ! I loved them as they were delicious !
Tang, sunny-d, fruit cocktail in heavy syrup & coffee aren’t breakfasts. Other than those crappy cereals, everything else is still eaten today (maybe other than creamed eggs, I’ve never heard of it, and I’d substitute scrambled eggs for the hard boiled eggs).
My parents never bought Tang, but they did buy the Minute Maid frozen OJ concentrate that you mixed with 3 cans of water. Our neighbors had Tang, but I never took to it. The few times we had it at their house, it was mixed with room temperature (tepid) water. Taste did not appeal to me. Not sure if temperature affected how I felt about taste. An early childhood lesson about how commercials could be far from truthful.
Some of the things that I ate for breakfast as a kid was "SOGGY TOAST" ( bread layered with an excessive amount of butter and then put into a broiler oven ) .and also "FRENCH TOAST" ( bread soaked in egg and then fried ) .
I'm 59 and at one time or another over the years I've had most of the many foods and drinks as well as the many television commercials of them all and I still occasionally eat some of them today but still Thanks for the Delicious Memories Thank You.🇺🇲🍲🍳🥘🍛🇺🇲
Corned beef hash, steak and eggs, quiche Lorraine and bran muffins haven't gone anywhere. Every grocery story deli/bakery dept. where I live has quiche Lorraine and bran muffins, and corned beef hash and steak and eggs are on many restaurant breakfast menus. Steak and eggs has been a popular breakfast at our house for decades!
There's something about the Brim Coffee segment I find seriously odd. It portrays "diner coffee" as some sort of gourmet high water mark for American coffee. When in fact actual diner coffee is known for its moderate flavor, and often not spoken well of by coffee connoisseurs. This is the first time I've heard diner coffee being referred to as something special.
Narrators talk like a lot of these foods are long gone when they are still sold in the stores. SPAM might have been cost efficient way back when, but for now I think it's fairly expensive.
😂 bran was for people who wanted to be regular in the morning. Not good. I lived through those years and we only had bacon eggs cereal Pop tarts cibs pancakes and sausage. And coffee was instant. Not that frappe stuff.
My family had creamed eggs on toast regularly growing up. Mom added Velveeta on the toast, under the eggs in thick white gravy, and called it Egg Gravy. Very yummy, and stuck with you for hours!
Carnation instant breakfast in chocolate flavor. Most always drank before going out to catch AM school bus. Spam, I am 😊 Mom used to serve us those corn beef hash meals. Kaboom? Don’t recall. My Po? We used to pronounce it as May Pow. Mom still made us oatmeal and Cream of wheat. No instants. Mom used to get us the Fruit Cocktail. Eggs In Nest? Nope. I’ve heard the Brim jingle but never had it. SOS, lol. My Dad, a Marine told us about that. We may have had it. I’ll take JD biscuit and gravy bowl. I’m sprinkling my crushed peppercorn on it. Some slices of orange is nice addition. Corn muffins or bran muffins. Maybe Mom made them? Interesting video.
Every time I move stuff around searching in fridge I think to myself “soda, purple stuff” And I always thought they made the Kaboom cereal up for Kill Bill.
For the Danish rings where they bought by someone else? Only asking because I remeber seeing those cookies being sold at kroger (where I work) I've also tried it. It's plain with a light sugar coating and a hint of vanilla, my nana who had me try some said you were supposed to dip it in your coffee.
We always called it dried beef and gravy. From what understand my little brother (who is almost 50) has my mother make this for him every year on his birthday. We always enjoyed SOS.
Dammit, you just made me crack open the can of Spam in my pantry, with an expiry date 3 weeks away...Fried up 3 half inch slabs & topped with mustard...yummmmmm
Never had Kaboom cereal but it only looks like it has those misshapen smiley faces, representing clowns. Don't see any marshmallow bears, star shapes, etc. Can anyone who actually ate it, clarify?
Why is diner coffee desired by anyone? There's a reason why there are thousands of coffee shops now. Even McDonald's and 7-11 have better than diner coffee these days. Some brands of cold cereal come and go, but all of the meat and egg dishes remain. They still make Tang by the way. Who serves quiche for breakfast?
It's available at WinCo, not sure about other grocery stores. I don't buy it because of the sugar content (no sugar free available) even though I love the taste 😕
WinCo carries it; don't know about other grocery stores. I love Tang but don't buy it because of the sugar content, and they don't offer a sugar-free choice.😕
Do a little research. It's "MAY-po," not "MAH-po"! (The very next word on the package is "maple." Pay attention!) Not a single visual during the Brim Coffee segment is accurate or relevant - Brim was a regular ground coffee, not espresso or instant. SPAM is manufactured and distributed by Hormel. Me either! I was like... 😮
WTF IS WITH THAT SUBSCRIBE BELL SOUND. Jesus Christ it's loud
It will be modified in the following videos

The bot covered spam twice
Steak and eggs was around a lot longer than ww2
Yes, it was. I think the fact that it became known that it was the breakfast they served the Marines the morning of D-Day made it popular.
And the flyboys of the Eight Air Force who ate them before flying to Germany in WWII rarely either kept them down or came back to eat again.
Cowboy breakfast 👍
My family still eats egg in the hole and corned beef hash with eggs 😊❤
My husband's family called it peek-a-boo eggs. I love "real" corned beef hash on the crispy side. I alway have to ask at restaurants if it's home made...alot of places use the canned stuff.
@rslooby6130 that's awesome, my aunt makes real corned beef (=

It’s MUCH better made with leftover corned beef though. That stuff in the can kind of tastes & smells like dog food.

Corned beef hash was a supper dish for my family, we did have with eggs baked ontop tho'. It's Jiffy Pancake mix, from Chelsea Michigan. Marty Maypo

Carnation breakfast was actually good with ice cream and and an egg mixed in.
SOS was my favorite army breakfast!
Really
I dunno about the Army, but it was served a lot in jails/prison. Actually I'm pretty much making it for supper with a few more foods cooked with it.
I would rather toast two slices of bread and top them with poached eggs than creamed eggs on toast.
