I love the ztto and the new bolany wheels. It's always a very good deal to buy them during black friday sale and end of January beginning of feb. As far as I know, they use pillar spokes on all their rims. At least from their description. Also their hub are compatible with dt swiss but I'm not sure about that statement since I never had to replace one and I also bought extra drivers since they're super cheap.
I talked to one of the manufacturers long long time ago, because I wanted to start a bike store here in the US. They will charge me only 50% price but I have to pay for shipping. Shipping will cost me tens of thousands to get it shipped to my house. So I never went through with it. Back then a wheel set cost front and rear was 175$😢 but with my own branding, it will only cost me between 80 to 90 dollars plus shipping and tax which adds astronomical increased on price.

Some call it budget, but actually what happened is that, products are coming from worlds factory whereby raw material are low in cost. Most of the time many things that are made in West are actually overpriced not because the raw material is expensive, but it's a "you ripped i ripped too" kind of business which eventually makes products even more expensive than it should be, that's capitalism for you 😆

In August 2021 I bought a similar set of aluminium wheels for my 27.5" hardtail MTB. 24 holes each rim. They were branded BUCKLOS. They have held up pretty well, staying true and with only one broken spoke (which I have replaced) after several hundred miles of riding paved roads, hardpack and some rough rocky terrain. And hopping on and off a lot of curbs too. I must say that for the price the quality is excellent and they look lovely. Total price including postage was USD 231.54. I'm still riding them today, they are still very true and as good as new after a few thousand miles now. I am no featherweight @ 80kg (approx. 180lbs). I would definitely recommend the brand and would buy again without thinking twice.

Cheap wheels are cheap wheels; alloy is not created equal, the same goes for the spokes (which you should have checked the tension of) and the bearings (or course the feel good brand new). No experience with this brand but based on entry level OE wheels there is no way these would hold up as well as entry level DT wheel. Also, I believe the patent has been out for awhile now on the DT ratchet so anyone is free to use it so expect to see that on generic wheels going forward but that doesn't mean its the same as DT.

As we shouldn't also forget that the patent for the DT Swiss hubs expired recently - that's why so many DTSwiss-style hubs are available on aliexpress. But, shouldn't this also mean that original DT Swiss hubs should come cheaper, now?

It is possible that the hubs are of good quality... I have been riding a trail bike with shimano hubs mt 410 for 3 years, I weigh 95 kg, I have covered at least 8000 km with them, Shimano hubs mt410 cost $35 in Germany, and shimano does not work on a small margin..So I think this chinese product can be good, and I had their dropper lever, it works perfectly

I am from Asia and living here in Canada for a couple years i definitely find prices for bicycle (and many other things) priced waay higher than in Asia. Granted things need to be shipped a longer distance to get here. But if you can get aliexpress to ship some wheels to you for $220 then that simply means local bike shops with their labour just cant compete with the low cost labour overseas

I like this company. I tried their 54 tooth ratchet upgrade in my DT 350 hub. It broke on my first ride after a punchy climb.....but they were cool and gave me a refund. I imagine the 36 tooth will be less prone to breakage. Long term review will be interesting. The value is hard to beat even if you had to source some genuine DT ratchets.

@@LoveMTB ZTTO is just one brand out of multiple for items that come out of the same factories. Other brands such as West Biking, Rockbros, Buclos and S-fight often share these factories and exact design, just the logo is different. In addition to this, each of these brands have atleast dozens of vendors, each one setting their own prices. Sometimes you can get the same actual product 80% cheaper from another brand if you can get lucky. Not talking about these specific wheels, but items such as pedals, valves, and brake pads have huge differences in prices even tho they come from the same factories.
