Thanks Bro i have fixed two avalon 3 nanos with your Video. The 4R7 smd had no contact and i fixed it with a soldering Iron and a heat gun on my own. They are working finde now. Thanks Bro
@@MksMikaaa glad you were able to fix it. I thought mine was broken within 24 hours since I decided to open mine up for the cooper heating. Hopefully you find a BTC block!
So would I be right in saying, because you took the cover off to add the heatsinks, you may have knocked a resistor near the US-C port and thankfully you was able to repair it.
@@webite9947 yeah they are very sensitive! Were you able to solder back on? And remember these are heaters so I assume they should be running hot! Not too much cooling can lower hash rate like the IceRivers
So mine I just got from Home Depot for like 20-30$ and it had just a low or high temp setting. I did low temp, which was still hot enough and then I took out the whole board and since it small area, I heated on the opposite side. Underneath it.
@@jasonkidwell1767 it heats up fast, so I used flux to heat up and then used solder paste. Let it cool and then use a copper wick to clean it all up. Then flux again with solder paste. it was heated up within 10-20 seconds. Can practice on old boards or something to build up confidence
@@jasonkidwell1767 I took off the opposite side first and then I had to push the shroud forward a bit from where the usb c port. But I said it quite dangerous since you might damage the usb c port.
@@jasonkidwell1767 Congrats! What are you plan on doing? I did mention in the video I did cut off more of the shroud so I can just slide the top with ease now. :)
@@MinerHutLLC yeah I did cut it to fit better I only added heat sinks to the vrm and the USB mosfet so far everything is ok I haven't ran on high mode yet tho
The info is really helpful, thanks for sharing!

Hi how did you solder it have same issue , but i don’t see any solder pad on the 4r7 smd , it was disconnected I don’t see how to solder it
I bought a bigger 4r7 Chip on eBay and this one was easy to fix by Small cables and a Soldering Iron.
With a heat gun it was senseless the Problem came back with the old Chip!
I had the same issue with mine and Canaan support took care of the issue, got it back last week fixed and it’s mining away.
Oh nice! Did you try to open it as well?

Probably was a bit of both, with removing the frame, and then adding a taller copper heatsink. Yeah but I'm glad I was able to fix it.
My resistor pops off by touching the heatsink ......2 Avalons with the same problem, I suggest to drill some ventilation holes near the us-c !!!

@@MinerHutLLC let you. know asap.... because I've two miners to fix .....
@@webite9947did you solder it ?
What temp did you set your heat gun too I have too do the same thing mine literally fell off I barely touched it 😂

@@MinerHutLLC gotcha you got a time limit so I can kinda gauge it?

How did you get the cover past the usb port?
