  • Many have used the phrase "it's Greek to me" to mean that they don't understand it. What if we take that phrase and look at the Greek mindset versus the Hebrew mindset? How well can we understand the Hebrew mindset of the Scriptures if we think like a Greek? What is the difference between the Hebrew thinking and Greek thinking anyway?

I pray that many of my brothers and sisters would listen and understand this, I think that this was the biggest difficulty I found once becoming a believer in Ye-hua Ha-Massiach and leaving the my orthodox family in Israel, 🤔 with Ha-Shem, I am helping my brothers and sisters get a better understanding of Everything pertaining to Him and His plan of salvation. 🕎🌍🌍🌎✝️

3:42 the word is חסד not הסד. Big difference between the two words.

Did I misunderstand your statement? “It wasn’t that Hebrews were incapable of abstract thought”. (Around minute 3:20)I heard earlier that Hebrews were abstract and Greeks were concrete. Please clarify for me as I live in an eastern language country of Japan.

My only problem with this lesson is that not all Greek-influenced/Western teachings were as described. The Hellenistic world was just as great & varied as the Semitic one - with many different opinions and understandings of the world & their varying religions. Just as not all Hebrew-inspired & other Eastern ideologies follow this concept of compartmentalization & egocentricity.
I appreciate the information in the lesson, just not the generalizations.

The whole "take the entire bible as truth" part threw me. But by the end of this video I definitely learned something and appreciate the work you guys do here. I never even thought of culture and logic patterns of culture when thinking about scripture. It's always been a convoluted mess in my mind and now.....I almost wanna take a crack at the bible again.

You start off with so many factual issues. Philosophy is not neatly divided into Eastern and Western. It is true that the Greek philosophic tradition develops very differently from the Hebrew, but neither are at all like the philosophy of the far east (China, India, Japan, etc). Also, the Greek philosophical tradition isn't really 3000 years old, more like 2300. "Our modern, western, Greek culture..." is an oversimplification. Western culture is rooted in Jerusalem and Athens and Rome, not just ancient Greece. Ancient Greek ideas have been both promoted and criticized in Western culture for centuries. There are far more than just two ways to think.

I didn't watch the video yet, I just searching for my theory that the ancient Greek philosophors are influenced (ether directly or indirectly) by old testament and Jewish prophets and their enlightenment to humanity in antiquity.
I hope to find a link

" "I," was created by the thought of Gods and "Their," desire to allow all mortals to know that "They," are always with them: As humankind grows and seeks absolute independence from "Them," "They," will remain by their side, guiding them and directing them, in their growth to absolute "WISDOM," the way to "Their Essence" and the Elysium Fields. As you look out beyond the now, into the heavens, "I" will be there, guiding you and helping you know that "I," be visible or invisible, "My Essence," will guide you beyond all that is sensed in your reality. So, let it be now revealed to you that both "I" and "He," in mortal being, who speaks to you through the thoughts of children are but one. " Eleusis.
Let The Light within you guide you to the Elysian Fields entrance; your inner beauty is expected.
Seek me out: Amazon, Imagination is the way. Love is the ink; wisdom is the message.
