  • We had the pleasure to sit down with some of the brilliant cast members of the award-winning film, All Of Us Strangers. Speaking to Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal, and Claire Foy, 3 exceptional talents who brought their characters to life with authenticity and depth.
    About the film:
One night in his near-empty tower block in contemporary London, Adam (Andrew Scott) has a chance encounter with a mysterious neighbor Harry (Paul Mescal), which punctures the rhythm of his everyday life. As a relationship develops between them, Adam is preoccupied with memories of the past and finds himself drawn back to the suburban town where he grew up, and the childhood home where his parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell), appear to be living, just as they were on the day they died, 30 years before.

Thinking about this matter further, I am very concerned that the film companies have refused to distribute this minor masterpiece on Blu-ray or DVD. Relegating it to only streaming services could be interpreted as discriminatory against the gay community as the film presents gay people in a normal light and avoids the appalling stereotyping which is the norm in most mainstream films. As BAFTA did not nominate Scott for consideration in the Best Actor category it should also ensure that, in future, all jury members should receive anti-bias training to avoid unconscious bias not “simply” in terms of race and ethnicity, but also regarding sexuality and gender, so as to ensure that there is no cultural homophobia determining the judgment of jury members from diverse cultural groups.

Not only was Andrew Scott not nominated for a BAFTA but now this film is not to be released on DVD or Blu ray - only streamed, so preventing access to many potential audiences. What is going on???
