Nodding in agreement with Jay on a lot of this, great chat here from two fantastic photographers!! Even including the controversy of focal length - good stuff!
A very thoughtful discussion between you and Jay on Street and Life. I first picked up a camera age 10, I got into street age 62 mainly inspired by the discovery of the work of the late Vivian Maeir. I am now 73. From that perspective I can say that at some point in life your creativity will seem to desert you both. You might feel moody, despondant listless and wondering "Why? " Don't you worry though creativity will come back in its own time. You will be a bit older and wiser. It has happened to me several times the last being the Covid years. But its back and life is fun again. By the way I live near London and enjoy the ever changing weather. Never a dull moment in that regard. Good Luck.
This was very interesting to watch, thankyou. The questions were great and Jay, your responses were thought provoking and I really liked your honesty. Your head is screwed on well.
Really enjoyed this fascinating and thought provoking episode. Some very key points made, particularly when relating to acquiring skills and then searching for variety in our images, and also the roller coaster that is our passions coming and going. Great work lads.
So much fun, thank you for doing these. Jay was one of the first RUclipsrs I found when I got my X100V and started to take my photography up a level. Following other photographers I eventually discovered your work and was immediately influenced by your style. It feels very meta to see you walking and taking with Jay like this. Full circle.
Great series. Love Sydney. I like doing suburbs too. Lots of rich cultural subjects and people in towns like cabra, parra, lakemba, etc.. my fav coffee segafreddo if you can find it lol😊
Re: The discussion of "style." I divert a bit from this idea that photographers must work to develop a style. I'm in the school of, we are out there to document life, tell a story, whatever that story might be. Which may throw at us opportunities that don't necessarily match what we view as our "style." Does that mean those opportunities should be rejected?

Thank you so much mate. I’m glad you enjoyed this episode 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Great talk! In my experience, chances of people doing interesting stuff are higher when the weather conditions aren't exactly on the pleasent side 🙂
Thank you very much Jerry. I agree as well, there’s usually more interesting things people do during abnormal weather conditions.

That’s a very good point Gary. Thanks so much for tuning in and voicing your thoughts.
What camera did you use to walk and talk? Very stable.
I used my iPhone thought I was using a Insta360 gimbal to keep things nice and stable ☺️
Download the audio of these videos and make them into a podcast!
Thank you so much Max for tuning in and the feedback. An audio podcast version of these is on the “roadmap” 🙏🏽
@@houmankatoozi awesome! I’ll check it out, I hope you keep making more of these videos. I’m really enjoying them 👍🏻
It’s hard for me to focus on what Jay’s saying because I’m so distracted by how clean the streets are! 😂
Hahaha yeah Sydney is pretty clean most of the time
sometimes I forget to take photos because I'm admiring the cleanliness
lol. love your photography, man. @@JayRegular
