One of my all time faves. I have limited space for 1-2-1 Lessons here calendly.com/tom-w9a/one-hour-bass-lesson TABS and Guitar Pros for this lesson are available here tomjohns.gumroad.com/l/zukxv.
Love this tune. Used to run through my head when I was surfing huge waves in Portugal.. now I'm landlocked and will play relentlessly on my bass. Thank you so much.
I have watch some really awful bass lesson videos in my time learning bass but this isn’t one of them this was amazing I was able to learn everything thank you
Omg thank you ive been trying this song for a longer time but always had some issues especially with the rithm and some ghost notes but this video helped me a lot!!
Wow, you really helped me out with the song and the ghost notes! I have never understood how to do it or how to play it. Now I can finish my songs with the ghost notes. Thank you!!
What would be the best way to memorize the ghost notes? Normally I recognize songs and tunes by each individual note, but I can't here. Should I listen for a specific sound or something?
Yo…great job my man on the lesson! I have been playing for 15 years in a cover band so this is a huge help vs listening over and over to the song. Any tutorials for slap and pop’n? Something I’ve never really spent time on. Metronome training…..absolutely! Just need to channel my funk. Long over do!!
This was super helpful! The main thing I’m struggling with is keeping my thumb from hitting the E string when I’m slapping the A string. Am I doing something wrong with my technique or is that just something that gets fixed with practice?
You might be holding the string down in the wrong spot, keep your muting hand over the middle of the frets and don't push too hard or too soft, there's a good balance to be had there. I just softly let go of the string ever so slightly to avoid any kind of ringing or harmonics
It's kind of funny tabs are almost never right or played right (not you in particular). At 5:45 when you play the slap part entirely, on the bm chord you play the nine fret of the third string instead of an X ans on the bm you slap the third string at 0 instead of X. Just funny how simple things like that are just not right.

Thank you, this is very very helpful! Most tabs I've found have too many ghost notes imo. I've immediately subbed to you. Greetings from Germany
Thanks very much! Happy it was helpful.
Really great tutorial. Sadly there aren't too many bass RUclipsrs that make these kinds of videos. Love the channel keep it up :D

To make it easier for beginners, just learn the normal notes at first and add in the ghost notes when you can play the rythym well.
this is so helpful thank youuu

Just starting out with slap and this song. I keep getting harmonics when I play ghost notes. What am I doing wrong?

i think he slaps the open E in the intro
