The problem isn’t just RUclipsrs, the problem is when para social relationships form and lead to massive power imbalances which some people will then exploit to satisfy their personal disgusting desires. And especially in places which can be insulated from outside noise/criticism we see problems with child-abuse such as with Internet personalities or the Catholic Church.
I think Hollywood is a key example of this issue, at least in modern times more than anywhere else. It's just that it's really only been the last couple years that the same light is being shined on the more low end media forms like youtube/youtubers. I think what's happened now is just the tip of the iceberg

The only TRUE RUclips hero to end it's own career was Super Cute Mario Bros. An old plush RUclipsr who made stupid funny plush videos back in the 2000's area. Until they wanted to stop completely. They have no sponsorships, no giving away their own channel to some random corporate media, and getting rid of all of their plushes on eBay. But still kept their channel on.

At least 3 RUclipsrs I used to watch turned out to be child predators and it's... usually the least surprising ones. Like, they were already kinda assholes to begin with so yeah. These being Onision, EDP and Miniladd. Onision and EDP, I used to watch as a pre-teen/teen but grew out of, Miniladd, I stopped watching when the allegations came out.

My close friend also passed away due to leukemia for the same reason as Edd did got a secondary infection while on chemo it was resistant to antibiotics and her body couldn’t fight it off this has happened just this month she turned 18 on the ventilator just a few days before she passed.
