Great video. Bought one based off your review. However, Grey Ghost Gear is the reason they say, “the sequel is never as good as the original.” I got the 2.0 and for the same price, you lose some features that hurt the pack. First, the water bottle pocket are no longer pocket, they are zippers that go 3/4 the side of the pack with a spandex and elastic water bottle pouch built behind the zipper. It’s not a deal breaker, but it does take from the main compartment. Second , the two pockets on the main flap are no longer fleece lined. It’s unfortunate because fleece makes me feel better with glasses. Next, the yoke system has been removed and the shoulder straps are just sewn to the back of the pack. This is really unfortunate because in place of the yoke system handle they put the crappiest single webbing strap as a grab handle. Lastly, the backpack shoulder straps no longer have the three horizontal straps, now having one long strap vertical along the shoulder straps, with sewing every few inches to make three loop areas. It’s truly unfortunate when a company puts out a 2.0 version and makes it worse than the original.
I've always wanted a waxed canvas backpack but Frost River Isle and Duluth products are outrageously priced. This beautiful backpack at $165 is an excellent alternative plus I love that it is not monstrous in size. It's perfect for a day hike and possibly an overnight trip into the woods. This olive color is my favorite of the four color options. The side zippers are ingenious. Great review, Ben, and thanks for sharing it with us.
Great review for an Awesome looking pack! It reminds me of a USFS Packsack from the 60s. Just an upgraded version of it while still with the original material. I like the bottle holder zipper pocket. This makes me want to upgrade my Waxed Canvas Packsack that I found at Goodwill. This new pack is definitely different from the normal grey man bags and tactical packs. They did a really great job on this one!
It's perfect. This is definitely my next bag buy and will round my lineup out perfectly I absolutely love waxed canvas and green is my favorite color so win win. Thanks for the video and awesome gear man I just got my panel and sammy pouch from badger claw absolutely love their stuff. Waiting for my elkskin lined leather gloves special order. Pumped for this season so much good gear out there keep the videos coming!!!
If main purpose of big side zippers is reaching access to bottom items, then why it opens top-to-bottom? If they would be mounted other direction, than it make possible to reach bottom items without unzipping it all the way.
Fantastic pack! Very well thought out and practical! I definitely going to save and get one, I really think it would fit my needs exactly! Thanks for the review. ATB! Sam Adler from Washington state
What is your opinion on the lack of a sternum strap after using a few months? Great video and I am considering this pack because of the waxed canvas, I will have to add a sternum strap though, I think all pack should come with one. Has the canvas been durable so far? Thanks for sharing.
I came here for the backpack but got sidetracked by the coat and thought about winter gear. Like what are some good all around pants? What would be a decent jacket for camping? I better look up basic campfire guides lol
Hey bud I'm looking for an outdoor backpack mostly for bushcraft survival. I use a 19 inch sheepish axe and want to be able to secure it to a pack . This bag looks good any others your recommend?

I spent two weeks in Northern Ireland working. I took everything I needed in this pack and my laptop messenger bag. It’s now my go to travel pack.
Gray ghost makes some excellent gear. A while ago I pulled the trigger on his Trauma pouch. Thanks buddy another slammin video
Thanks to your review I checked out the GGG website and the Gypsy was on sale for $99 shipped on Black Friday! It’s a well designed very versatile bag
I've been looking at different packs of that size, and this one is my favorite so far. Seems like a very practical design. Thanks, buddy.

Hey I'm in Michigan as well. Thanks for the review and I think this is what settles it for me so I'm going to order one
I saw this pack in some pictures when I got another pack from Gray Ghost...
Next on the list to get now. Thanks for the review!
This is a good looking bag, and looks well constructed. Thanks for the review, I’m going to look into this.
How is the water bottle holder ? Would it degrade drastically over time?, it doesn't seem that durable
9:50 What Size, dimensions are those tactical assault gear pouches? Thank you
Nice demonstration and pack, thanks!
A nice retro looking pack with a few modern twists to it. Nice review Sir.
Nice review and I am very interested in getting one. How do you think this would carry with a bit of weight given no sternum or waist straps?

Wow! That’s a nice, well thought out pack. Much better than Maxpediton’s new pack! Thanks Ben.
Love it.
@@livingsurvival Gonna get it. Merry Christmas to me! Lol.
It appears to be the OD Green
I'm getting one through your link. Thanks for the review!

Very durable and even with heavier loads I really don’t miss the sternum strap on this one. Other packs for sure.
Do the side pockets expand enough to hold a vargo bot or is that too much?
Where do I get those two ran packs you've attached to the front of the bag?
Do you know where I can buy this ? On Amazon it is no longer available
I have one for sale on ebay
What is the volume of the pack? Amazon has the depth at 2"?!

I use down puffy coats. They aren’t the best around fires and mine have many holes but they are lightweight and warm.
What color is your Gypsy?

I have a pack playlist with a bunch of awesome packs.
Great review and bag, how about a discount code for Black Friday?
Very nice pack! Great review sir!
Very nice pack Ben!
Love that pack...👍
Great review, what color do you have?
The olive.
never understood the greyman thing....if you look more like a target, you will be a target...
What do you mean?
