Somehow goin down the wormhole of YT yesterday, I came across this video. Made me want to buy some scratch-offs so I grabbed 5 $10 tickets. The first ticket I hit for $500 and the 4th ticket was a $10.

Maybe they had a $175 payout out of the 5 cards and the $25 has already been deducted.

Working at station selling for awhile I can honestly say the big winners go for lowest numbers 1-20….. 20-35 iffy . And of course buy 5 at a time if it don’t hit they move on or grab at least 2 more. 50 dollar and up tickets 1-10 are really really good odds to break even or at least come out on top. And if you’re badass with the cashier and not a prick I would always remember the winners and let customers know, or if someone bought tickets between 1-20 and hadn’t hit I would let customers know as well. It helps to be kind always and respectful. Hope you all get plenty of blessings and winnings!!!

The most I won on a dollar ticket was 500 dollars,I hit 4 different times,and I hit 500 dollars on a dollar free ticket

Coincidentally I have been using this method for years. Honestly have NEVER won more than $ 50 on any lot, ever, PERIOD! Of course, Noone is forcing me to keep up this madness, but certainly have put many computers on children's desk 👍

@@jonrajsl291 You're correct,I don't buy these things at all anymore but one time several years ago I actually spent like a month buying like 10-15 of the same tickets and like 5-6 different tickets each and almost every day and guess what,I broke even only a couple of times or if I did win a few bucks then you guessed it,I DIDN'T REALLY WIN AT ALL. This crap is a scam all the way around and yes you can win like $100,000 or $200,000 like someone won a couple years ago on a $10 ticket at a gas station I go to every single day that is a half mile from my house but it's the same chances if not worse than hitting the lottery. To each their own but yeah it's a total scam all day and not worth playing, you've better odds walking away with something at a casino given that you win and actually walk away that is. Lol.

I don't do scratch, but I did miss out on $38mil drawing by 1 dagum number! I won $2500 & went to my local claim center in Victoria, Texas. I met a guy who only buys the $100 scratch off's.
He had won $200k on 1 ticket & $400k on another! He was cashing in $600,000!!! He said that he always hits because not many buy the $100 tickets. I just can't afford them.

Don't buy into that I have bought 5 tickets at a time 10 at a time 1 dollar 2 dollar 3 dollar 5 dollar 10 dollar 20 dollar 30 dollar 50 dollar 100 dollar all with the same results getting my behind brought to me by now the way I have played i should be a millionaire but instead I've just been a fool .

My brother bought my mother a $20 scratch off for Christmas. She started scratching it off in front of us by scratching the winning amounts off first. I said what are you doing? She said scratching my ticket? I said why are you scratching the amounts off you don't even know if you've won. She said I want to know how much I might win. God bless her she's 86 but I've never seen it done that way before.
My Daughter in law was Sooo excited , she said that she had won $200.00 dollars on a $2.00 ticket.... When My Son looked at the ticket , it was a $2,000 dollar Winner... My Mom cashed the ticket ,( no Tax because of Her Age)

Buying 5 tickets in a row is a fantastic idea. You do have a better chance of winning. I always have at least one win on each ticket. Thanks for sharing. 👍💯💕
Always make sure you scan them with your phone if you have the app available or let the store scan them because when you buy a bunch your scratching fast and it is possible to miss a matching number. My boy missed one and he was going to throw it away i was just riding with him I seen the tickets in the floor board I said all of these are loosers he said yes well I got to looking over them I said dang bro this numbers one of your winning numbers he said what heck scratch it so I did $200

It has happen to me several times and I consider myself a meticulous scratcher. My husband caught my winners, because he puts the losing tickets into the computer, pursuing the second chance winner. Crossword was my Achilles. Now, I have a scanner on my phone.

When I lived in south central Pennsylvania (Lancaster County) I lived within a mile of a "beer store". On several occasions, I would find "scratch-off" Pennsylvania lottery tickets which people bought, but were obviously ìgnorant of the rules, because they tossed the tickets on the ground, or in the nearby trash basket. I won money off of tickets I never had to pay for. It was never much, but one ticket was worth $25.
It happens in New Jersey, also.

Many of these scratchers are confusing as to what they win or even if they win. I'm glad my lottery has an app where you can scan the code at the bottom to see if and how much it wins.

Ditto...I also pick up any used/discarded scratch offs that have the 2nd chance option as well. Almost always, I'm able to find 5-10 discarded 2nd chance winners. I've won a lot of free money that way.
U know i used to throw away my second chance ticket away but found out people were taking it from trash to scan my tickets I just brought so now I rip the ticket up so they can't use it for second chance and I buy alot of tickets
5 ticket purchase is how I won a $500 on a 2$ ticket. Won on the third ticket in and won on the last ticket. The last ticket was a free ticket. So I won $502 on a $10 purchase.

I normally only play the $1 tickets but I only buy them one at a time and from different rolls, buy 5 from a single roll seems like it has better odds of winning

I've had good luck with this method particularly with the higher dollar tickets due to better odds, $20 tickets are usually 1:3-3.5 odds so getting 2 wins in 5 isn't too uncommon and there's alot more $100 winners than lower dollar tickets. In ohio we had a $30 ticket with 1:2.6 odds , id buy 3 and usually win 1 or 2 but there were so many $100 wins id usually get my money back that i could play 3 more tickets (not right after, on another day or at a different place) and it gives a better chance to come across a bigger win. I played it until i hit $1,000 then had a small losing streak and stopped while i was still in profit.

AZ has had the best gambling for me. Living in SC now they out here to hustle. I buy books from time to time and out of 30 tickets, only 7 are winning.
Recently bought 13 tickets in a row (connected) on the $30 VIP and all but 1 lost. The lone winner was $50. Then a few days later back to the $30 VIP ticket - bought 10 of them and all 10 lost. Gas station said they'd never seen that many in a row lose, but I've bought thousands of scratch offs over the last 20 years -- mainly $20, $30, $50 and $100 tickets (sometimes 5 to 10+ at a time) and the most I've won in Texas is $500 and those were all on $50 tickets. Years ago I'd NEVER see 5 in a row lose - now, quite common! So whatever the changes are of hitting $1000 ticket and up -- it's next to impossible. MUCH better luck playing the casino! I've got hundreds of handpays on $3 bets at the casino yet can't win $1000 on a Texas scratch off playing every week for 20+ years. We're talking tens of thousands of dollars and nothing. SO KUDOS to fellow Texans that actually have WON! Buy a ticket here or there -- DON'T CHASE - it will cost you dearly - my advice by painful experience.

I buy tickets for my Mom in another state in my state she wins more often and bigger. I have done it for my friends out of state same results. I do not play for myself, it makes me happy to do it for them.

In Minnesota you can see what’s left from a certain scratcher game online so you can play just the ones that have more winners left.

Oddly enough my two biggest wins..were on the smallest denom tickets excluding 1 dollar tickets. 25k on a 2 dollar, 1k on a 5 dollar. I get most of my 500s on 10 dollar denom and 50 dollar tickets....just made me think of that when you said your biggest win was on the smallest tickets. Funny how it works that way sometimes. Never write off the lower tickets, they can pay really well also.

I won $477,777 on a $5 ticket, hit $1000 on a few $5 and $5000 on a $20. So yes, the cheaper tickets can pay off.
From working at a retailer years ago in CA, this method works. I would look for the white thick line above and that meant that either 2 above or below that was a winner.

I heard a guy asking for someone to look at all the tickets for this and he said he would usually win a free ticket or maybe $10 on a $5 ticket. He said he had always won something using this method.

I'm in CA & some guy at the gas station told me that also ..every time I see that line I get excited & also one of the demons always have a winner when the serial number end in 0,5,10,15 ..etc

Don't hold on to it for too long. Cash it in. A lot of states and scratchers only have a limited time to claim your prize. Keep an eye on the date
This video popped up on my feed last night. I rarely ever buy lottery tickets but when I do it’s only a couple at a time. But after watching this I was inspired to go buy 5 at a time. This morning I went to Wesco and got 5 $10 tickets and 5 $5 tickets and wasn’t expecting to win. I won back $55 out of the $75 I spent!!🤣

I've only been buying two of each game and just hit my 20th 50 dollar win. Two of those wins were the same day after only spending 20 dollars. I hit 90 four times and 100 three times all by buying 2 at a time, but after watching this, I'm going to try 5 at a time and see what happens.
Over the years of playing scratchers, i have noticed that the tickets closest with a zero at the end (example-0,10,20,30) or add/subtract 3 from zero, example-(1,2,3) (9,8,7) (11,12,13) (19,18,17)are usually winning tickets-good luck( don't know if it works in other states, but it works for me in cali) would buy 10 $10 scratchers and play all morning lol

i did the 5 ticket method and it works out.. obviously you lose some but it hits more often than not. i dont do this all the time but if i have some extra money, i try sometimes

Me & an old friend used to go in half on rolls and we'd always check to see which tickets had paid the top prize already, and we wouldn't play that ticket. Bc the top prize had been found already. Just thought I'd share

Way back when the scratch off lottery first came out, I would win $500.00 at least 3 times per month on $5.00 tickets.
Then more & more games were offered.
I never win anymore!
Quit it altogether.

If you'll recall, Matt, I posted a pic on your Discord of me getting winners on five consecutive $20 crosswords. I had bought all five at once instead of buying one at a time; I typically use the 5-ticket method myself when I buy tickets. Sometimes it works out well, sometimes it doesn't. I do usually get at least one win, and more often than not, I get more than just one break-even win (I either get a win that's more than break-even, or I get multiple break-even wins).
I don't usually have as much success buying one or two of random tickets like you do, Matt.

I tried this recently and got 1 ticket that had the word "platinum" and looking at the rules meant that I won all 20 prizes. Heart racing and dreaming of how much I was going to win, I started scratching off the prize amounts and started seeing $1, $1, $2 etc. Won $25. Bought more of that same one and got "platinum" again and won $20 but the next ticket was $100.
I bought 15-$2 and won $4- I usually will buy 4 of same tix- biggest win has been $50 1x

Once I purchased a $1 ticket and won a $100 it was a really lucky day for me because that dollar was only a few bucks I had before the win really lucky lucky day for me how ever that hasn’t happened again but I have one $60 on some of the $5 scratchers I play the scratchers because waiting for the winning power ball or mega bills me up to bring me down at least with the scratchers you can check right away to see if you have something even if it’s a free ticket good luck to all you players out there I hope you win and win big😮😊

Where do you find the numbers on the ticket? Like when you tell them I want a number 1 , 5 and so and so?

I was told, at a lottery counter, that 'the' scratch off winners are the first tickets of the roll.
If you reveal the card serial number then it will reveal the amount won, if any. If it's a $5 winner then the number five will be in parenthesis in the serial number. If the winning amount is a double digit, triple digit, etc, then the numbers will show in parenthesis individually.

I dont scratch the prizes either! If the game is complicated like the crossword or poker games, then I just scratch the bar code and scan it to see if it's a winner. I also look up the top remaining prizes to see which tickets to get.
It’s a pattern to it, most winning tickets are won in the lower numbers, but this all depends on what state you play in, then you look on the back side of the ticket to see the odds of winning or the break even numbers. Usually it’s 1 : 3.41 , this means 1 out of approximately 3 tickets is a winner, you either break even, get the cost for 1 ticket back or win a hundred bucks or more than what you spent on the tickets you bought, normally if you have a idea of where those big winning tickets are in the roll, and like I said, in the state where I live it’s usually in the lower numbers, I can usually ask what number the ticket is on, before I think about buying 4 or 5. Usually I buy 2, and scratch the scan code, if I lose, I buy 2 more, or 1 more. The whole idea is to win more than you lose, and it’s really hit and miss.
You are so completely wrong on there being a pattern. I managed a gas station for 7 years. You had your low number players, your high number players and your middle number players and the all swore by their method and they were all losers!
In my state each book of tickets cost $300 if you bought the whole thing and the payout was a minimum of $180 per book so on the vast majority of book you loose $120. Hitting the one or two tickets in a book where you might win more than double the ticket is quite difficult and purely luck on where it will appear. I have seen it one the first ticket, the last ticket and everywhere in between. If you feel lucky go with it but your chances are just as bad as everyone else's!!
As a side note the books are computer generated with an algorithm to make them random so no pattern is present on which book or which ticket will be a winner and there are no numbers or marks or anything else to show a ticket is a winner.
@@jimmyd486 yes, if you buy the book of tickets this might be true, most of my biggest hits, 3-400 dollars came between 00-06, then the next winners were around ticket number 09, or so. I always ask what number the ticket numbers are on. But I’m just talking about tickets that win. There’s no way I would buy a ticket book, at least this is true here in the state that I live in.

All I am saying is in the 7 years of watching people scratch, they win where they play and they believe that is the best method and they range from the front of the book to the end of the book and I saw no difference in the number of winners. But like I said, play where you feel lucky. ☺
@@jimmyd486 true, there’s no way of really telling where most of your big winners are at, and I’m sure who ever makes these scratch offs realizes that some people who play often enough can usually figure out a particular pattern? So, I’m sure the higher prizes are located where someone wouldn’t expect them to be. But, even I could be totally wrong about that assumption too, but in any case of that matter, I do see quite a bit of people buying 4-5 tickets at a time, or they usually go off the odds of a winning ticket ratio in which those calculations can be off one or two in either direction, and in most cases your just winning back the amount of a single ticket. But, a winning ticket could give you back more than your investment, or break ya even.
@@heartofthunder1440 In the long run it is a loosing proposition or the lottery commission would go broke. I saw a lot of people loose their rent money scratching. If done with expendable money for fun, no harm done. Just don't try to use it as a money making scheme. You will go broke in the end. Have fun. ☺
That was fun! I love that you won! I have been having bad losing streak. But I only get 1 ticket at a time. So Ill have to save up & try 5 at a time. I've noticed I would at least get a free ticket on $5 or $10 but now nothing. Makes me wonder if there aren't as many winners. This has been a reallylong time of not winning. (From MA)

I never go into a store planning on buying a scratcher, if one grabs my attention ill buy it. Last time I bought one was a few month's ago and I won $400 on a $2 ticket. I don't play much though because I lose 95% of the time.
I have a buddy who paid off his house with lottery playing and won enough to live on for a while. He has a degree in psychology but said all it was good for was getting psych ward work in hospitals.
With a degree though, he could have taught public school.
Anyway, he didn't want to go back to psych ward work, so he became a handyman, since his house was paid off.
Then he discovered FEMA needed phone counselors to direct the public to resources during disasters.
He finished off his career working for FEMA during disasters. The rest of the year, he had a nearly retirement lifestyle. He really liked the FEMA work.
He was satisfied with the changes he made but wished he had originally become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker instead. That would have allowed him to be an independent talk therapist.
i just buy one at a time and scan them at the scanner or use my phone to scan. when im playing I like to hang around a half hour or so and I don't let anyone in the building see what cards im choosing and i scan near the counter or whatever depending how busy it is if no one behind me ill scan it at counter.
I visited Granbury last year. Beautiful city, friendly people.
I told you it's either 4-6 wins. Usually it's every 4th and then throughout the pack it jumps to 6th. But nice session Mr Fixen.

Glad you didn't fully bust Matt. Lady at store is sort of right. Like you said winning is about odds and being there at right time, right place. However. Even with 5 tickets in a row, win odds are based off of total tickets printed. As long as you have fun Matt 👍

Ive noticed a trend on all scratchers, when you have the match number ones, once you see the numbers surrounding the number being matched its almost 100% chance of losing, i watched the first 5 in this video, and predicted it before the 3rd line was done, just something id figure id share
