Great insights and thank you very much. My journey is somewhat different. I am a Senior Software Developer (20+ years) who has decided to refocus my career into Azure Engineer and eventually Azure Architect. I have done projects on Azure for software development purposes using PaaS services such as Web App and SQL database, Storage Account etc. However, I have great interest in moving to Platform Engineering in Azure. How does one do that considering that my experience is mostly, if not only in Application Development. Perhaps someone can ask why the change of direction, I tend to feel that I have contributed one way in the tech space and want to contribute differently and keep myself motivated by new knowledge. I have taken the last while studying and getting certified in the following: AZ-900/AZ-104/AZ-204/AZ-500/AZ-303/AZ-305 and working on the AZ-700. You advise will be greatly appreciated.
