I thought the same, but for me it has a negative implication. Her music always feels so unique, but this one really didn't. There is nothing wrong with the song or anything, but I hope this style does not become more common in her music.
Man, there was a lot of ambition that went into this. Calli's swinging back and forth between musical styles, the starkly different scenery, and the animation that went into the music video are all very striking. It's gonna be a hell of a day's work to get mouth tracking to keep up with Calli's flow, though, and that was one awkward point of the MV. Otherwise I'm jazzed for the album release and future MVs for its other tracks!
Let's give some representation to Elliot Hsu! The instrumentals and music sfx were just as incredible!

In such a short time, look how far she has come, the amount of obstacles climbed... How can you not feel happy for her?
I know, right? Remember that time a bunch of haters asked her for career advice, and when they were dissatisfied with the answer they got, they started acting like jerks towards her? Calli's response to that was actually what led me to willingly dive into the rabbit hole.
Cali is definitely someone who decided that, if the chances were one in a million, she'd just try a million times. She just works so, so hard that I can't think of anyone who deserves success more than her.

Edit: If you think about it, this basically Calli saying that emotions are needless in the job of being a Reaper as it may hinder her job. But since she doesn't think it's like that and knows emotions will help her instead, she ignore this fact and decides to believe in what she knows...and feels.

Not kidding by the way. I love how she decided to lore herself this way. I am the 10th born named Zigthrill. My soul is that of a dragon. Now Lady Death has been around since the ancients were around. Of course she is not my physical mother. Funnily enough all of the beings we are close to decided to incarnate around a 2 year window.
If you think about it hard enough, there's also a second message in these lyrics that fits well with the context of the first message: your life is what you make of it, don't let anyone else tell you different.
Now, isn't that just a wonderful message?

The layers in this line especially taking into account the meaning of Calli's other song *end of a life* simply delivers a very great poetic message.

True! Superficially, it reads like that in the role of "Calliope Mori" (i.e. Death) she's able to find fulfillment that she couldn't before, but when you hold it up against "end of a life" (which, of course, is also "death") it feels like a direct callout to that song and a double affirmation that she's becoming more accepting of her own success. I always hesitate to read song lyrics too closely to the singer without direct confirmation (even though Calli often does draw upon her life for inspiration), but...it's a nice thought at least.
So much vibrant red, looks so beautiful. The grassy field looks nice too.

The music video itself is just visually amazing and beautiful, but can we talk about the theme song itself for moment? Like, oh my god. The music is just pure peak perfection of sounding like a real anime opening sung by Mori Calliope herself. It felt like I was ascending to the very heavens because of this theme. It's just so good, Calli has definitely outdone herself once again in this amazing 3D MV of hers

I have to hard disagree. The animation is stiff and janky, the Default Jog as her run, and the SFM/MMD/Whatever pre-built anime dance was more than a little out of place. Hololive should invest in animators that know what they're doing.
Song's great but i wouldn't go anywhere near the sentiment of the video being "visually amazing." If you think this is amazing, you're clearly only playing PSX games, trapped in a time bubble where we never technologically advanced out if the 90s.

I am extremely happy that it's not just me, although I don't understand the Japanese parts... I'll be embarrassed if it's actually a dialect of Chinese, but I don't know any of those languages. Sorry.
I am not a professional at interpreting stuff by any means but to me, this song is like Calli's journey into Hololive. Obviously there are things that she left behind just so she can pursue this career. There are times where she was sad, times where she felt like she wasn't trying hard enough or that her effort was just a waste. With her walls so high, she had trouble trying to get things together. But with the help of her friends and her determination to not give up, she pulled through. She wants to convey that even though there are some hardships in past and even some in the present that she's still dealing with, she doesn't want that to stop her and that everything she has experienced so far is worth it. Having the chance of being Mori Calliope gave her the most happiness she's ever felt and she wants to have more happy memories with everyone.
At least that's how I interpretted this song.
If you know about her other persona outside of Hololive and her history, this sounds pretty much dead on. 'End of a Life' was a song dedicated to her friends from the rap scene, many of whom think she sold out, saying basically 'I didn't give up, I climbed the mountain and grew past everything, but I'm still me, and I'm still thinking of you and hoping you all can catch up'.
This one sounds more like she's saying 'I'm still me, I've worked my ass to the bone to get this far, and I've found something incredible. I'm not going to give it up for anything or anyone.'

Yeah, a few of her songs are like this. I can't say for sure that you're right, I don't think any of us can, by design. But what is clear is that a lot of her songs tell HER story. And as you and @AI pointed out, a lot of that story is from a past life. Which is one of the reasons I love her music. It's not cookie cutter for the sake of making a profit for her, Cover, or whatever company they use as a label. It's genuine, has meaning, and is made out of passion. It comes from her.
And before any one says anything about us talking about her real self. She, herself, basically stopped at right before breaking her contact when discussing this topic. And those of us so far have left her name out only out of respect for fans who rather not know since Calli has very clearly accepted that her identity is the worst kept secret in Myth. Which, in my opinion, is a good thing. If she wants the credit for her work as Calliope Mori, she should get to have it. She earned it, she deserves it.

The SOng is great but the Animation is bad... The Limp Sync is not there. It mostly looks like she only has her mouth sometimes open and by the battle ANimations the clothes moving wrong. It doesn't looks like slow moting more just like she moves slow so the clothes are moving in normal speed... But the Backgrounds are nice. The second background (with the flower field) reminds me on Made in Abyss... The Area after Epsiode 10...

I believe this song has become my new favorite of all your music. There are parts of the MV that I think elevate the music. The church crumbling around you reminds me of the scene in Red's MV (my previous favorite) where the words were being written in multiple directions and on top of each other. Making it tough to read and feel unsettling which matches the lyrics of "closing in on every side of me." The crumbling church, how fast you were speaking, and the line "appease the beast" all make it feel like invading thoughts are just becoming too much to handle before you say enough is enough with "take control." On top of that you have called yourself a "beast" in Red. Which makes me feel like the invading thoughts could be a call back to the lyrics "I'll always be a prisoner to my ambition." All of this is just my interpretation and is most likely colored by my love of the song Red.
As for the album as a whole, I'm going to preface this by saying listening to it made me realize what I really like about your music. That being your lyrics. Both the things you talk about and the way you present them with poetic and/or vivid imagery. I bring that up because on my first listen of the album I felt like I couldn't comprehend and understand some of the songs. I would say that my second and third favorites of the album are Resting Power and Ouroboros. But, I know that is because those songs I could understand every word. However, I feel like that may change after I figure out the lyrics of the other songs. I look forward to finding the lyrics and relistening to the album.
That said, congratulations on your first full album release! I hope you find even more success and satisfaction with your work. If you feel like your "lore" is holding you back and want to break away from it you have my support. If in "Death" (my interpretation is the persona Calliope Mori) you feel more alive then by all means lean into it but take it down the path you wanna walk. I believe that is where the best "you" will be.

For some reason RUclips Music doesn't have the English version of this song in the album but does have the instrumental and Japanese version. Which isn't that big a deal since RUclips Music let's you watch this video or just listen to the audio without the video, but I just found it to be just like RUclips to forget to put the TITLE TRACK in the album.

The first time I heard this banger, this part weirded me out because it sounded weird, kinda like if the rhythm got lost and Calli is just shouting random stuff really fast
But now I think that's the point, considering the background breaking and th things she's saying, I think the joke of this part is like she's having a little breakdown, or that she's finally getting free of her thought even if that breaks the beat, like not caring anymlre about the restrictions and just wanting to be free

Constructive criticism: might be worth rendering this at a higher resolution or applying some sort of smoothing pass to the foliage heavy scenes as I think there's a slight drop in quality during them
The animation hurts my very being half the time but that's probably a lot harder to fuck with
I dont think increasing the resolution would help at all in the slightest, if not ridiculous. Might just be the color the same way as how the appearance of confetti drops the quality. To explain further, the video has lots of flying petals in a dimly lit environment, making it not ideal for youtube's pixel by pixel data streaming. As for movement, the camera could definetly be moved not as abrupt through many tweenpoints rather than a single fast movement through a straight line. The same applies for when the character flipped, could definetly use more motion paths right there to atleast make it more realistic. By the tweenpoints/motion paths, I don't mean easing, just adding more movement data or keyframes to make it more lifelike. Overall it's good enough ^^

May be a RUclips compression issue rather than a rendering issue.
Edit: This is precisely consistent with what you’d expect to see from interframe compression. See Tom Scott’s video on Confetti for more on this. Very likely nothing to be done on the renderer’s end.

What I love most about this song and MV is the sheer difference between the light and dark scenes. The angelic singing for the brighter scenes and the rapid fire rap for the dark. Got chills anticipating the transitions. Loved the energy through the entire MV!

This is so cool! Calli's music is always great! It's cool to hear Calli singing high notes, and the lyrics are top notch as always! I don't usually get to watch many livestreams but I love watching vods and the mvs, and this is one of my favorites!
