That's the thing about the MCU. Each of their movies felt like full-fledged movies and not just stepping stones to lead to the Avengers. How they did that, I have no idea. But kudos to you all.

Because...well...if you haven't seen it, then everything after it will make no sense at all, since it changed the continuity so much. Everything is different now, and not only will knowledge from Civil War be important for entering into Infinity War, but it will affect it's story dramatically. I'm not gonna spoil anything if you haven't seen it, even though it's over a year old now, but nothing is the same after the end.
Plus, it was a damn good movie
The fact that they kept his original purpose in the film really spoke how deep they dove into the lore for captain america. (His comics were used to sell war bonds during WWII for those who don't know)

Cling Clang Think of America today and the people in it and associate that with "Murka." Now think of what America used to stand for and how people used to behave a few decades ago and associate that with "America." Now our nation isn't treated with the kind of respect it needs and we've all lost patriotism. Part of the reason I think is because we haven't had such a huge crisis that has called for us all unifying as a nation since WWII. Back then people needed hope. And our nation gave them that hope clad in red, white, and blue. Not so much now.

Alan Menken, the man who composed such Disney hits like Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, Enchanted, Aladdin, Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Little Mermaid, and Tangled, composed this.
I adore this movie! The colorist needed to be paid like a million dollars, the different color schemes were motifs for being a person out of time, and used to emphasize the difference between Steve Rogers and Captain America, and I adored it. Also this musical number is top notch in its context, the fun atmosphere really helped the narrative that Steve is falling for little by little. Also it's a bomb song, 10/10 makes me smile every time I hear it.

Fun fact about this song! The music was composed by Alan Menkin, who wrote the music for classic musicals such as Little Shop of Horrors and Newsies, and several of the “Disney Renaissance” films including The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pocahontas, and Hercules! He also wrote the music for Sausage Party. Definitely one of the most iconic film composers of our time besides John Williams.
This song and sequence in the film is a genius bit of writing. It's completely believable.
Whats more unbelievable is the fact that this could have actually happened in the 2nd World War as a lot of Movie stars at the time did perform for the US Military.
