The Relentless neck pickup is amazing, but it does require a lot of routing of the neck and body under the pickguard, that I'm not proficient or comfortable doing (yet). Jon Willis did an amazing job install both Relentless pickups into his black Attitude III Billy Sheehan signature bass. I know a couple of guys that also dropped the Relentless pickups into their 30th anniversary Attitude basses.
Great sound and playing all around!! Just curious, is this the sound of just the new Relentless p bass pickups or do you get this huge sound by combining it with the neck pickup?
That video was done with both pickups ON with the Winery Dogs Mad preset by www.drtonelab.com For just the Relentless pickup (solo) tone test: ruclips.net/video/trle0a-zNLY/видео.html
As far as I know, they are not available yet, but my friend Jon Willis is the go-to guy for modifying Attitude basses. I'm sure he'll post something soon.
It won't just fit right in, gonna require some serious modding. You'll have to get in there with a router and carve out some of the neck - too intimidating for me.
@@soopahsoopah it does take songs routing to get the Relentless neck pickup to fit, as well as modifying your pickguard. Jon Willis did an amazing job on his install, but I have heard where others ran into problems. You will have to cut and rout deeper than you think since the Relentless neck pickup had a stronger magnetic pull than the stock Yamaha woofer pickup. But... Hearing the difference is immediate and impressive. The stock Yamaha woofer pickup is the VW Bug to DiMarzio's Ferrari of a pickup.
so these are only good if you want to imitate billy?.....check!..not everyone gonna buy these to play hammer-ons and pull offs....How do they sound just playing normal, like blues, or even jazz, funk and different settings with amp
I haven't had a chance to make a new "clean" video with different amps and the Relentless pickups yet. Soon. On the meantime, here's different amp tones with the Att III with the stock DP146's. ruclips.net/video/_XmzmqsT1r0/видео.html
Best sounding passive P-bass pickup I've heard. That's an awesome bass as well
Wow - it's a brave person that would make any changes to a 30th anniversary model!

Dude! That playing is ace.
ufff sounds powerful, impressive!
Dude I have the same amp! It’s a lotta amp for 36lbs. You gotta love it!
I bought a squire mini p bass and installed these pickups. I can’t put it down.
Great overdrive sound
Great video, thank you for sharing this. Amazing pickups
