I just started as a professional mobile detailer. I'm in mid 40s, not exactly the ideal time in life to start. I was in risk management to IT, i just didn't enjoy working in corporate. I like detailing. I've learned a lot from DiyDetail Yvan and Nick put out a lot of content to where where i am confident that i have the skills to do the job. I am aware of the struggles. Carwash around me are charging $17 to wash and vacuum a minivan. It's hard to compete with that, however their aren't my clients. I'm excited for this journey
I spoke about this in February of this year and many detailers especially the newbie know it all detailers, set I was crazy and that I wasn't cut out for this. Here we are and many businesses closed this year and a lot of detailers struggled to keep up with shop rent. It's a reality and it's the economy, warfare, election, inflation, and the biggest of all. The oversaturation of detailers that killed the industry their tiktok videos and unlimited car wash passes. all of that is killing the detailing industry. Also after taxes if you're an llc business, you are barely left with anything. Thanks for the video. Detailers need to here the facts
What works for me is when you advertise on Facebook it only works when it’s on a certain topic. I find that reels would work the best. Don’t focus on advertising on detailing in general. I would make an ad focused on paint correction & ceramic coating. Keep in mind that if you put up an ad on facebook, it’ll also show on instagram. Make sure you post it on the actual website and not on the facebook app
Best advice is tbh google my business, and bring a friends car and have your detailing truck/van rig . Doing an exterior with heavy foam! Do it by parks and sporting events. Easily get more than 2-3 jobs almost every time
Here's a good tip to grow your business. I do this all the time, and it saves my "I can't afford it now" customers 95% of the time. Sign up for Synchrony Business Banking, and offer your customers your own business branded credit card. Anything over $149, with synchrony is 6 months no interest. And anything over $749 is 12 months no interest. Best part is... it's free for you and your clients.
Too many mobile detailers charging very low prices. This encourages potential customers to keep looking for the lowest price. Focus should be on delivering high quality work and holding firm to your pricing structure.
Learning how to handle customer objections, while offering significant value is an art form. If you come across price shoppers, the strategy is killer, and it converts a good majority of them. As soon as they call you, and ask what you charge, turn the question around on them, and ask them if they're looking for the cheapest detailer, or are they looking for the best, or somewhere in the middle. I usually start my conversation with " full disclosure: I'm probably not going to be the cheapest, but I can guarantee I'm going to be the best. If you're looking for the cheapest, I'm sure there are other detailers out there that can accommodate you. But if you're looking for the best, that's where my confidence shines". As soon as you put out that you're not going to be the cheapest, it immediately weeds out the price shoppers, or converts a price chopper into a value shopper.
What I found out from the detail shops that claimed to be booked out, that there's a lot of ego involved in this. I drive by these detail shops who claim to be booked out, and 9 times out of 10, I see only one car in the garage. So it's a lot of smoke and mirrors. These detail shops want to eliminate as much competition as possible, and using the dread strategy, they make you feel like that you're not as booked out as much as you should be, causing you to panic, and eventually quitting the business. They've effectively eliminated the competition and I subtle way. So don't believe the hype, nine times out of 10.
@m3finish yeah no problem. Plus, consider talking with customers who dealt with these same "fake busy" detailers. They do shawty work, and that's even if they show up in the first place. Show up, show off, and show out.
Cool content! I agree with you on keeping the maintenance details going and keeping those clients happy. They def bring in the steady income. Big up and keep on grinding 🫡
If all you want to do is the big jobs then you need to market hour business for those big jobs using insta, facebook, tiktok, and RUclips I know someone who all they do is big jobs year round and it all on how they market their business. The guys doesnt do maintenence washes and thats because he doesnt offer them nor will you see maintenence washes on his social media.
Here's what I find funny about the detailers mindset. You'll contemplate getting a "regular" job paying maybe 20 bucks an hour but won't do a detail for less than 150 bucks for a 2.5 hours work.
For me if someone is willing to pay for my services I’m just grateful they even called I will come for $50 easy money is money at the end of the day we gotta keep getting it 💪🏽
I say maybe lower prices people love that but try not to spend to much time on the vehicle and less chemicals use idk customer needs to understand if they want to spend less just my opinion
I can agree on that thank you for dropping a comment. It’s kind of hard because people want always great results but not to pay for it and it you do a okay job then you gotta worry about your rep online as well
@@m3finish that’s awesome you’re fully booked not quite sure what fully booked means. But it can be a struggle to learn how to keep it full still working on it myself. Love the content tho💪🏼🫡

Nice video very helpful with the marketing tips for a mobile detailing business 📝
Thank you I appreciate the amazing feedback back 💪🏽
As DIY detailing said, stop thinking like a detailer and start thinking like an entrepreneur.
Yes i agree need to put this for my every day mentally 👊🏽
What I learn from paid advertising is a long run platform patient is key on this
What platforms have you invested in ?

True and some people don’t care about the treatment and hard work you put in there vehicles I’ve notice they’ll still going threw the brush car wash 🥲
I can agree on that 100%
But we do sometimes run winter specials if it’s slower than usual
Very true

Nice yeah I agree you have to target a certain demographic to lock those jobs in 👊🏽
Marketing and advertising. Gotta be relentless with those two things especially advertising.
Advertising on what platform? Do videos work better than photos for ads??
Yes it’s going to be super crucial to your business no one is pushing you beside you 👊🏽

That's a bad idea to lower prices.
Best way to make money is to win the lottery. Second best way to make money is to work hard.
Amen 🙏🏽 thank you for dropping a comment
Ya you all should stop detailing there’s no more work 🤣🤣
For us we are fully booked but sometimes things to tend to get slow for detailers we made this video to cover this topic thanks for commenting 💪🏽
