I remember my first time playing MW1 multiplayer at internet cafe in 2011. After that me and my brother decided to buy the game and we played all summer. Though i did play and finish MW2 and BO1 at released year, MW1 always had special atmosphere especially in multiplayer.
The enemies in Far Cry 2 always treated their weapons like their personal hygene

Far Cry 2 the devs put the charging handle on the AK on the left in which it's the wrong side, all AK and its variants has the charging handle on the right side of the rifle and its the correct side.
Back then players doesn't care about that type of stuff.

Far cry 2 just have a lot of quality, but after is boring even if the game delivers you the freedom on what you want do (bizzare)
Modern warfare had extremely good looking animations, so much that they reused them for like 6 years and still looked good. In fact, in my opinion they're still beautiful even for today standards
Not a problem, since each cod had new weapons with new animations, new maps, new campaign
This is such a great comparison, since both games are literally genre-defining and revolutionary for both their franchises and also the entire shooter industry. If I had to choose, I would take FC2 over CoD4 in animations and sounds, but the latter on the weapon models, since FC2 has more variety in animations and a heck of a lot more per weapon (jamming and explosion animations exist in this game) and sounds are quite punchy, while obviously I would choose CoD 4 on the model side for obvious reasons.
Unfortunately you'd have to flip all the CoD4 models to get the FC2 animations to fit, save for the G3 and MP5.
Also it'd be nice to have CoD4's non-empty reloads as well.

@@HQ_Default What you said should really become a mod, but I am not sure how easy FC2 is to mod.
I think this is a great contrast between how a rag-tag mercenary somewhere in Africa and a trained soldier (in this case, it's US Marine) handle their weapons. Modern Warfare here has more professional-looking animations while the Far Cry 2 has more rough animations.

Imo rainbow six 3 was the oldest fps with incredible quality, then in 2008 battlefield bad company 1 had the revolutionary sounds, nowdays the bestest is considered call of duty mw19

Now I'm starting to remember why I stopped playing Far Cry 2 lmao. Cause every time I wanted to use an RPG on a group of enemies it hit the ground and bounced off into space.
I think i'll go with Far Cry 2 because I've played, beated and loved. COD4, i never played it.
The opposite for me, COD 4 is amazing you should play it.

Thing is, that is exactly how rockets actually function if shot up close, since they have some sort of safety feature to prevent accidental explosions. This also applies to the 40x46mm grenade, used by the grenade launchers we all know, like the M230 or the GP-25

Far Cry 2 wins for me in terms of animations, though I hate how crunchy both games gun sounds are.
Far Cry 2 only has empty mag reloads tho and the weapons being left handed is a very weird decision the devs made.
@@gld3n711 i thin they that because they put more effort about the fire effects rather than working on animations. far cey2 has lot of animations besides reloading compare to other fcs.
@@gld3n711 left-handed was a trend that I've seen in a few games started by Counter-Strike. also, "only has empty mag reloads" is something a lot of games at the time had, and it doesn't mean the animations themselves are low-quality.
@@bigsmoke5814 for real. the weapon inspects, the deterioration of guns (the inspect showcasing how worn the gun is), the jamming, even the final shot that breaks the gun (the gun blowing up in the player's hand).
Far cry 2 animations are smoother
While cod 4 is more technical, and slightly more human with stiff ends

I am a person that does not care for power fantasy. In reality I appreciate and am thankful for the successes I have achieved and the skills I have and are still learning .
Thus in gaming, I have no need to feel like an invincible one man army , I enjoy a challenge wrapped inside a well written atmospheric story ,and an immersive ,realistic setting, where your decisions carry weight and the story/environment hits you with unexpected curveballs/twists .
I want a game to take me out of reality and transport me to a world I can’t experience in real life.
(Such as shooting militarized Junta factions with an AK47 for instance)
FaCry 1 and Far cry 2 had such hardcode ,complex AI (For the time) and a truly hostile and immersive world where you have to fight tooth and nail just to survive in, your guns jammed at the most inopportune moments , bush fires set by you become a hazard even to yourself, mutated chimpanzees trying to rip your face off, it is epic!
Being dropped into the middle of a creature infested jungle with an assault rifle and only one 30 round magazine is thrilling.
Likewise , to be surrounded on all sides by dangerous, competent enemies and a raging bushfire that is not so slowly creeping closer and closer as you struggle to unjam your 50+ year old AK47, just to realise you have to take your malaria pills in the middle of it all is excessively thrilling to me.
When a game places you on the defensive, you have to fight mercilessly just to survive ,with by far the best healing animations of any game, that is peak gaming to me. When you are forced to use your intellect and wits, to think outside of the box to improvise,adapt and overcome , that is exhilaration. When you do manage to improve your skills , you succeed and you stand all dirty, bloody, cut up and bruised ,but triumphant at the end , that is euphoric satisfaction. And Far Cry 2 has that in spades.

I desperately want a brutal Far Cry set in Africa once again as in FC2 but now there can be more predatory / dangerous animals such as lions, buffalo, crocodiles ,Pythons and more.
With Akasia thorns blocking your way and slowly doing bits of damage that you have to cut away with your machete, still using the Blood diamonds / arms dealing as the backdrop (Since that is still relevant today) as well as conflict over clean water sources .
A Far Cry set in the Sahel ,you, a French foreign legion mercenary , helping local Dogon warlords, the Doza ,fighting against the invasive Muslim jihadists would be epic. Just like they are doing today.
Using AK47’s, Mosin nagants,RPGs, FALs,SMLEs, Galils and more.

Objectively speaking, COD4 takes the cake. But FC2 has better environmental aspects that makes it more novel in my eyes. Point in case, the sound of the casings hitting the sand.

It's called balancing for MP, you got full auto M16 in campaign but burst in MP.

In comparison FC2 looks more "next-gen", and COD4 like a game from 2004
Actually COD4 was released in 2007 but the development was began in 2005, that's the main reason why COD4 look like an older game than even the year 2007.

Wtf is the FC2 RPG
Its a faulty 50 year old smuggled weapon, whose warhead fails to detonate upon impact, thus its momentum causes it to ricochet and explode at random times. FC2 was superb.
In real life, some of the warheads for the RPG-7 have a minimum arming distance. If that distance isn't met, the round can bounce. I believe it's also possible for the warhead to impact at the correct angle to not set it off, and also bounce.

My experience with FC2 was strange. I could only play for about one hour before getting bored but it was somehow addicting so i'd play it everyday, but it felt like a chore to do so. Either way Metro Exodus did all that this game tried to do so I'll stick to that.
