In the very early nineties I spent a few weeks on Menorca.. every evening before we went out we listened to a radio station broadcasting from one of the islands. The music, unlike anything I'd heard before, wasn't house, wasn't hip hop, wasn't pop or indie rock but a smooth, ooozy drippy mix of all these... Uptempo records slowed down to match the slower beats and breaks with Spanish vocals and percussion mixed in with occasional acid squelches..... But as the 90s progressed house, garage, techno, jungle etc took over the dance floors and Balearic became mellowed out trance house.... At nearly 50 I'm starting to go back in search of certain moments in sound and this mix is the first authentic Balearic mix I've found... Big up and thank you x

i discovered balearic genre, a few years ago, too late to enjoy as you did back in time.. have you listened to "Air france" or "Southern shores" ? can you tell me, do they sound like old school balearic mixes? I love both bands.
