Very frustrating to hear Dana Brown say gettin Garcia and McCullers back is like doing a major trade. McCullers has not pitched in two years and it’s been months for Garcia. I just don’t see these pitchers coming back and blowing batters away. I hope I’m wrong.
It’s nothing more they should do in my opinion. He’s trying to build up the farm system and frankly anyone on the trade market that’s really worth trading for, the Astros don’t have the prospects to give up. They have just had an injury prone pitching staff this season. Just one of those seasons. I guess it balances out with the 2022 team who basically had NO injuries the entire season
@@kyland2394I agree. Plus we got lucky to avoid this type of season for 7 years. Finding hero after hero as we let players walk.
Appreciate the transparency, Brett!
I heard you on the radio show the other day on sports talk 790
I've invested as much energy as I'm going to, hoping the Astros will bounce back. If they do, I'll be elated. If not, meh. I just hope they're realistic enough to know if it's time to sell.
Agreed, yes but if…. Although I think leadership at all levels is lacking. A shake up trade from our abundance of outfielders to fix first base. Then good grief, Espada needs to get out of Mr. Nice Guy mode.
Brown sounds so party line it’s sad.
It’s just one of those years people. It’s not time to rebuild. Hopefully with better pitching health next season they will be back to the Astros we know. They do need to make a decision on Bregman though since it’s a contract year for him this season
It's like we let Bregman, Diaz, Alvarez and McCormick walk at the end of the year like Springer and Correa and we never replaced them with better or same talent.
YES we are a playoff team because you never underestimate the heart of a champion! Like Rudy T would say!
The Astros still have playoff-level talent, but they've built too big of a hole. Seattle is legit this year, yet they've also been super healthy. The Astros' best chance to make the playoffs is if Seattle starts to suffer a few injuries like the Astros already have. If the Mariners stay mostly healthy, then I don't think we can overtake them.
Let's just say know how to be contender. They need to add a few new players. Current ones lost their bats.
IF Justin Verlander can return to form like in 2022 or 2017 he can save a few arms like hunter brown and balanco do having
Its Juily 1st, looking back Dana Brown knew what he was talking about.
I think Crane is calling the shots and Brown is just the front man for Crane. Crane probably wants that hands-on approach. The team should get Alonso from the Mets, Crotchet from White Sox and Mason Miller from the A’s. World Series window is closing and it is time for action. Maybe send Jacob Milton, Luis Baez, and Joey Loperifdo for Miller. Send Aj Blubaugh, Colton Gordon, Rhett Koufax, and Will Wagner for Crotchet. Send Zach Cole, Zach Dezenzo, Jose Fleury, and Jake Bloss for Alonso.
If they’re not even close to winning the division by the trade deadline, I don’t see the need to do a blockbuster trade. Seeing that Dana brown has brought in some decent farm system guys that’s fine. Longevity. I doubt these pitchers coming back is gonna change much when the batters leave guys stranded
Garcia and mccullar's is not going to fix the offense
Hope McCullers is ready to pitch..the game has changed alot & these batters are only getting better & better...hope all those side quests McCullers has been focusing on doesn't screw us...
If the Astros are still under .500 and if Contending Teams want Framber Valdez, Kyle Tucker, Alex Bregman, Justin Verlander. Teams are offering 17 - 18 yr old Star Latin Hitters. Astros will be needing to Rebuild regardless in a year.
Bryce Matthews will be Starting at 3B next year.
Bone bruises take foreeeeeever to heal. I doubt we see him before end of July (at best). They need to stop parading him around to show he’s “fine” and let him stay home to rest/keep the pressure off his leg.
I say yes they are a playoff team
Joe Espada is not the problem. Rob Manfred is the Problem. Yankees cheated and never faced penalty, not opening the letter. Jim Crane wrongfully Fired AJ Hinch and Jeff Luhnow. Sig Mejdal left Analytics Genius.
Not having a Stable GM, James Click was really good, Dusty Baker ruined the Yainer Diaz Rookie Year. Jeff Bagwell running the Front Office without a GM is a problem.
Dana Brown and Staff need to rebuild the Minor League Teams.
Not having 4 Draft Picks - 2 First Round Picks, 2 Second Round Picks is the Astros Result.
This is exactly how I feel
Bregman is not the same, Diaz is not the same Alvarez is not the same McCormick is not the same so it's like they are totally different players
Even if Garcia and McCullers comes back, our bats are silent.
No not a playoff team
First thing fire espada then figure out the meaning of loyalty which none of these guys have
The problem has been as of lately batting.. batting has been awful and so Inconsistant in my opinion it has been worst than pitching heck even the bullpenhas been decent exceptfor pressly wheneverhes on... so to me is the bats! They need to have smarter and better at bat. If by mid July they aren't close to ir at .500 forget about it..
THIS team is not a playoff contender. The team they cd be, yes. Need swagger back. How? Health and leaders LEADing.
Hell no this team is not going to the playoffs
Mccullars is washed up.Time to rebuild.
The moment crane fired lunhow and hinch was the start of the downfall and it officially started by firing click. So stupid that crane gets controlled by Bagwell and Jackson. It's sickening. Not a good look in a pro sports franchise
