Much less than Sonoma / Napa. But a lot of Novato is still considered to be in hazard zones because of how dry it is and how much vegetation there is, which presents problems getting insurance these days.
@@Jdjfbficjenenwk3736 It was Moderate. 4.9 in Marin Co. The Safeway had damaged Ceiling Rafters and All the Shelfs with knocked over items. A Few Traffic lights short circuited and it took Mom an hour to get home. Thankfully Novato Buildings were built with 70s Retrofitting(Earthquake Resistant Tech existed back then but was variable) and our home on 1110 San Jose Blvd was an old WWII 1 Bath Home built with Steel Reinforcers, the exact same type in the Golden Gate Bridge. So our House stood perfectly intact. We had Aftershocks every hour up until my Bedtime. So we spent most of the evening outside the Front Door. My Stepdad went and got us some Burger King. I went inside my Room at 8 to get ready for School, when the final Aftershock Struck. I ran to my Bedroom Doorway and held on to the Knob with my Right Hand and Bed Knob with my Left hand. I slept with my Closet Light on and Nightlight in case more were to strike. My Aunt lived in Downtown Oakland at time. And Lived on the 4th Floor of an Apartment Building. It was Halfway destroyed, but she was one of the Lucky Ones. I was 6 years old then.
Love Novato!
Great community!
Have there been a lot of wild fire risks in Novato compared to Sonoma or Napa like in 2017 and 2020?

All fair points and those are def the cons. Thanks for watching!
@@austinklar My family and I stayed in Novato in 1988-1989. We felt the Loma Prieta Quake up there.
@@Tornado1994was the damage nearly as catastrophic as in SF and Oakland? Or relatively minor?
