- There have been several scripts and Jurassic Park drafts that have been changed before they made it to the big screen. Here I go over a history of the unmade films and what kinds of differences were in them. Starting with the original Crichton book adaptation and going through all the sequels like Lost World, JP3, Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom. Different dinosaurs, islands and stories were so fun to go over here!

Good God, the 2005-10 era of constantly looking up for any new information on anything Jurassic park, it was like being trapped in a cave of recycled air for a while (25yo)
I didn't think we'd ever get a fourth movie. I took a hiatus from the fandom during college, so hearing about Jurassic World was a complete shock for me.
I remember being 15 and hearing about the militarized raptors idea mixed with dog and human DNA and just feeling super depressed 😂

I love unmade and scrapped concepts for movies, games, TV shows, comics ect. It's just so interesting to see what could've been and what stuff they could reuse for future projects
Pretty much what I was about to write. Part of that whole thing is also differences from book to screen and alternative casting.
I agree with you. There is so much we have never knew behind the scenes from these unmade movie productions.

I've been waiting for this compilation. The different scripts and drafts would've shifted the trajectory of this franchise dramatically, even if it was just for a single movie.
I just wish we would get a movie that has the lost worlds feel. In an uninhabited jungle, raining, dark and full of terrifying monsters. No buildings and the ones that are around are old and covered by nature. Even the first movie’s setting wasn’t like the JP2 the 2nd movie really did feel like a “lost world”

Yes, exactly what I want. Something that I want more of is old ruined things from the park like the bird cage in JP3. That absolutely terrifies me for some reason.

So many of these ideas, especially with dinos on the mainland would have made for such great Jurassic productions, and to know that Dominion was just not interested in that is so shameful and disappointing. Anyways, I've always loved your content, man.

Dominion scrapped dinosaurs for bioengineered locusts. It was the worst movie out of all 6 jurassic movies. By a large margin.

People can complain about how the Jurassic franchise has gone but what we got feels a hell of a lot better than what could've been

I really like that first idea for JP 2 because not only it inclued some of the things from the novel, but also added some of the ideas that were included in some of the later entries in the series while also bringing unique ideas as well. Hope they included some this stuff in the new Jurassic movie. Stay rocking Klayton. Also fun thing to add is that my favourite sequal is The Lost World too.
I watched the cartoon on Netflix and i was surprisingly entertained. It was far better writing than the most recent live action film.
As a person who watched the film as a four year old in the cinema, I love this content at this point I'm just using you as like an audiobook to fall asleep to. I love these longer videos. Great work my man and keep it up I sleep great listening to you and your content about my favourite movies❤

These are exactly the type of videos i love watching.
Some of these are hard to imagine. My memories of the first two films have formed in a way that makes them seem like they were meant to be. The Lost World, in particular, just seems so different.

Jurassic Park is just like its dinosaurs, an amalgamation of many things
I recall being on the JPToys forum and reading the discussions/rumors surrounding Jurassic Park 4. I'll never forget seeing the human-dino soldiers concept art for the first time or when I used to constantly visit this unofficial website to see if there was more news about JP4.
I think one thing everyone should also keep in mind with stuff like this is, even if it sounds good in theory/script, it doesn't always mean it wouldve translated that way on screen. There are reasons rewrites, ideas, and the like change consistently, and while obviously yes sometimes a movie may not end up being as amazing as first conceptualized, it doesnt mean that concept would've been a slam dunk 10/10 if it had got made instead.
Jurassic Park: Extinction was what we deserved and is what i was expecting Dominion to be about BUT NO!! WE GOT LOCUSTS AND THE WORST DODGESON EVER!!
after how bad the Jurassic world trilogy turned out being they need to consider doing a full on reboot of the franchise.

They should give reputable producers and directors their shot at making their own, unrelated versions of a sequel to the first JP. Sam Raimi and Neil Marshall would’ve done incredible horror sequels that could’ve actually made the human/dino hybrid idea an amazing offshoot.

Honestly the version of The Lost World where it was closer to the book. Sounded fantastic and could’ve been better than the movie we got.
I started rewatching JP3 last night and am gonna finish in a bit, but the more I watch, the more it reads and is shot like a comedy. Like there's certain zooms and other camera tricks that typically you only see in a comedy. Which makes the "horror" bits all the more disconcerting and jarring (and hilarious)

When I heard one of the deleted characters for "The Lost World" was named Jettson/Juttson, all I could think was, "Jettson/Juttson, you're fired!"
Anyways, I kind of like the idea of JP3 having that DX disease and some of the dinosaurs/pterosaurs appearing on the mainland. It would've been a great way to elevate the issues of these creatures, and could've acted as a decent expansion of the climax of "The Lost World."

I think it would be cool if they touched a little bit on the Dino-human hybrids (not give them a whole movie or anything like that)
Something small where the characters stumble upon a abandoned lab and see some hybrids suspended in glass tanks like the lab in jp 3.
I literally wrote my own jp4 draft like that in the 2000’s! 😂

Maybe they can do something where they are on site b or something and find out wu or some other scientists had set up a lab secretly.

After reading the Jurassic Park novels I would gladly welcome a Crichton draft of the films that would have been closer to his novels more than anything.
I actually like the DX disease plot, they could of also incorporated the Navy guy with John Hammond story of sending him to the Island to get the Barbasol can. Trying to stop the disease from spreading around the world and killing off the dinosaurs completely. I think it would have concluded the series nicely.
Not gonna lie, I prefer the lost world that was scrapped. As an adult at least, I probably wouldn't have liked it as a kid when it came out. 😂

U also forgot the unmade ending of JP1 where instead of the T-Rex saving grant, Ellie and the kids it’s Hammond who kills the last 2 Velociraptors with a shotgun and considering he imprinted on them when they were babies and crested them itd only be right that he’s the one to put them down.
I still feel as though there could be great opportunity to do a JP again in animation, Ali Awada does great animations but even in 2D as we’ve seen in Primal or ATLA we could do something more 18+ and closer to the books using this material. I am also very partial to the concept you covered about Billy bonding with the raptor group and the chaos that adventure created…or something along the lines of John Hammond leading up to JP1.
Maybe one day, we could see a comic adaptation of Michael Crichton's JURASSIC PARK: The Lost Version, as well as comic adaptations of the other cancelled films in the series m
Hopefully, Christopher Nolan direct cos he knows proper time travel films like in the book

I wish Jurassic Park 4 was made I would have loved to see the Human Dinosaur Hybrids, but Jurassic World is the 4th Movie and i love it and it still used an idea from the Jurassic Park 4 Script which is using Dinosaurs as Weapons

Jurassic park 3 rewrite all by me:
Alan and Ellie hire Roland Tembo, a hunter, and a mercenary named Bo to help them find their daughter Jane on Isla Sorna. The group arrives on the island and encounter many dinosaurs along the way. Bo criticizes Alan and Ellie, calling them rich scum, while Roland talks about hunting being his destiny. Alan and Ellie are worried about Jane. Roland finds raptor eggs keeping them. The group finds Jane after Alan saves her from an Allosaurus. They ride a river into an aviary, where Jane saves Alan from a Pterosaur. They discover a bunker where Jane explains that she didn't know everything about the company and was not allowed to tell anyone about the dinosaurs. Roland leaves the bunker, placing the raptor eggs to lure in the raptors. The raptors evade his trap, and he runs back to the bunker. The group escapes to the roof, but Bo trips and, his last words are “Maybe y'all aren’t so bad," completing his arc of accepting the rich. The group runs to the dock, pursued by raptors. Roland sacrifices himself, saying, "A hunter can’t outrun destiny," completing his arc of realizing that one shouldn't let their dreams engulf their life. The survivors reach the boat, with all character arcs complete. Alan and Ellie learn to let Jane go, acknowledging her independence.

Just wondering how badly separated I am from the rest of the JP fandom. Would anyone else want to see a remake of Jurassic Park that was more true to both the book and the modern understanding of dinosaur physiology/appearance? I would like to see the raft scene, the big dilophosaurus, and even feathers on several of the dinosaurs. However, I know that remakes are extremely unpopular, and it's only been ~30 years since the original came out.
After watching Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous; I believe that would be a really interesting launch of the franchise in Live Action. As they stick to the script of JW reasonably and make references to original books. - such as the reference of John Hammond getting killed by the Compsognathus. Which is a wonderful scene in the book. Just wondering on your thoughts on if they went the route of live action Camp Cretaceous

Honestly, take the dinosaur/human hybrid concepts and slap the Extreme Dinosaurs IP on it and I don't think anyone would complain.
