Great Video! The samples that you take are amazing. Just the tones and colors of the finds would be worth the exploration and time spent out in nature!
justin, It doesn't seem like you got much snow there. I have a question I have four mine shafts and and 11 adits on my claims that I have over 94 inches of snow on the gulch floor. the mines and adits are going up the hillsides. My questions is what should I do once the snow melts on the mountain how long before it would be safe to explore the adits. The mine shafts I'm not so sure about since most of their collars have collapsed due to the snow and a few of the adits seem to have trees that down next to and above the adits
Doesn't sound like you have much of a window with 8 feet of snow. Basically as soon as you can get there snows not a huge trouble for us our highest claims have 8 feet of snow now to so we just waiting till may and it's gone we have a four month window to do work there, I would stay off any areas with lose rock or mine dumps. Also if your not aware where all the shafts or adits are dont go in the snow to risky. Stay away from landslide areas.
I need to contact you I found vien in two mountains seperated (between them) stream The vien is rich with graghite vien , oxdized ,sulfur, pyrite, mybe arznopyrite, arzenic, and cinibar(mercury), silver and gold. I need you to advice me which is the best way or method to extract gold. In safe and economical way . I want to contact you by email To send my ore images to you Thank you very much i appreciate your greate work in exploring menerals , And appreciate your help.
What kind of boots to you wear? You do a lot of off trail hiking in all conditions and figgured you would have a better idea of what you need in a boot
I used steel toed boots, we sometimes work around or with machines...safety first. I have become used to them and find they stand up better when your bumping against rocks and climbing. Spent $300 on a pair of Helly Hansen hiking boots and lasted only 2 month. Which is why I don't use hiking boots anymore.
You are so calm and matter of fact, I would be flipping out if I ever found rock like that!!!
Once again thanx for the closeups and pointing to the material that you are describing. Cheers

Absolutely even if we don't find anything worthwhile we are having fun.
Feeling the chill! Can't wait till spring!
Huge library to explore earth
Thank you so much

I like how you identify the rocks. Very helpful. Have you heard of anyone finding peridot on VI?
Yes one spot, not sure if it is just rumors though.

the red staining on about 6:17 was iron?
I know the green is copper
Iron oxide
Thank you so much. You've rescued me from the politics that were offered by RUclips. This was a much better choice!

When you send a sample in for an assay, what happens to the minerals in the sample do you get them back or do they keep it?

Did pretty good on that second sample, the last one was not horrible, really either.
where do you send the samples?
So if I find quartz like that in a gold rich creek I should keep it? Bust it up later
Bring a jewellers loupe see what you got before lugging it out, or bring a sample home.
@@911mining ok thank you. I found a rock hammer in a creek digging for gold once. It was all rusted and old looking.
@@911mining you check out the nuggets I found in Georgia in my videos?
