  • Can You Get LASIK Twice?
LASIK enjoys a success rate of 95 percent, making it likely that someone won’t have to undergo a repeat procedure. However, some people may need a repeat procedure, also known as a LASIK enhancement.
A repeat surgery can be performed after you’ve recovered from the first. You could also have another procedure years later.

I got lasik 20 plus years ago and had superb vision until recent years due to aging. 56 now. Got PRK 6 weeks ago but my vision is still blurry and night vision is terrible. Is this normal at this stage and should my vision improve eventually. Very worried now.

Got Lasik in 2013, was a perfect canditate. Was told this by 2 offices, Lasik Md and Eaglevue in Montreal, Canada. Had 20/15 vision, no complications and 3 years after my vision keeps going down every 6 months by about .25. Now stabalized for 2-3 years about at 2.00 and 1.75 which is about what I had originally. My brothers is still perfect 15 years after and my sister is wearing glasses again about 6-7 years after lasik.. My dad also perfect after 20 years. It sucks.. Loved not having to wear glasses..

I had lasik in Dec 2002. JUST in the last year I’m feeling like my vision is changing back to how it was pre-lasik. It’s really upsetting.

How about when the lasik surgery has worn off, 23 later?

2 different eye doctors told me it's unsafe to do LASIK more than once. They both recommended PRK instead, though they warned me that being in my 40s, I can't expect a great result.

I know this is a super late comment, but just in case have you looked into ICL surgery? It's essentially where they put a lens inside of your eye like a contact, but it's behind the iris. I've heard it's supposed to help people that may not get the best results with LASIK or PRK, and honestly I've been considering it but need to talk to my eye doctor first to see if it's something I can even do.

@@brandonosborne7099 I've heard that surgery can result in bad light halos, so be careful with that one.

my personal eye DR advised me against any form of laser eye surgery. Two surgery clinics stated I was a good candidiate. I followed my personal DR's advice and avoided the surgery. He recommended trying the Bates Method for 1 summer and see if my myopia improved. It did. From March to September I went from -2.25 to -1.75. I'm now at -0.50 and I only wear glasses for night driving. The Bates Method requires a lot of discipline and it requires the formation of new habits. So, it is not for everyone. Putting on glasses is a lot easier.
