The movie is partially about everything we don't understand and what we can't communicate. The original song captures this so well, and since I don't understand japanese, it adds to the theme of not being able to comprehend what you percieve. The fact that you managed to put this song into words I can understand so delicately almost makes me tear up. Thank you!

Man, I read the first 4 volumes of Children of the Sea at my local library when I was like 10 and too young to appreciate it. I never got to finish it, so I'm really looking forward to this movie.
I'm in Japan and I just watched it. I could only understand like 30% of it with my Japanese, but it was still pretty damn good. There is some mind splittingly good animation in this movie, and I highly suggest checking it out in theaters.
