  • @seckler17
    @seckler17 5 лет назад +2

    I just compared my C917 vs B518, for scientific purposes of course. C917 won for me it was sweeter, lots of caramel, brown sugar and chocolate with some fruity notes and a bit of oak on the finish, not as much spice, oak and tannin's as the B518. The B518 had more spice/cinnamon, almost prickly. I have A119 and B519 but have not cracked them open yet. Great video, ECBP is definitely a great value and probably my favorite generally "available" bourbon currently on the market. Cheers.

    • @TheMashandDrum
      @TheMashandDrum  5 лет назад +3

      Oh the 2017 B and C were special bottles as well. I think you nailed it...some come across as more sweet while while some come across with that peanut and oak flavor. The C918 is still my fav ever so far but this C919 came close. incredible mouthfeel. Cheers!

    Jason just cracked my first bottle of C919 now rewatching this video for the second time while sipping. Couple of ??s for you. 1.... I noticed on all my whiskies that they usually taste better once opened for awhile. How long does it take for ECBP to really open up after you crack the cork and get the bottle down to the bottom of the neck area? 2...My initial tasting today thinks its good but feels constricted somehow compared to my bottle C918 that has been open now for 8-10 months which tastes much better to me. What are your thoughts? Thanks for the great blinds of this ECBP

    • @TheMashandDrum
      @TheMashandDrum  4 года назад

      Absolutely. I let the ECBP sit in the glass for 15-20 minutes on a new bottle. It definitely needs time to oxidize a bit. The air does alot for most barrel proof whiskeys ... especially ECBP. Definitely let it sit in the glass for about 20. Cheers.

    I guess I'm a proof whore because I like A119 over B519 so I'll probably seek out a case of C919! I noticed the Offerman Lagavulin on the barrel, picked up one today and while it doesn't pull away from others in the range, it is solid. Great Head to Head as always Jason.
