Scooper DanielRPK claims that Deadpool 3 will introduce the concept of “anchors” to the MCU: characters whose deaths trigger the death of their universe. Erik Voss explains how this connects to Secret Wars and the character of Molecule Man Owen Reece, and which character in the MCU is likeliest to be this universe’s anchor: Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, Loki, or Wanda Maximoff.

Was Harambe our anchor?
Absolutely, May he rest in peace, we are doomed.
Yes 😢
@user-xy1ex2qf6k No such thing as bad gas.
It would explain a lot. Also pretty sure the massive decline post endgame was horrible writing and character with some rare exceptions haha, not magical
Tell that to the people who died in the trenches
I like this concept actually. Maybe multiple anchors and each one weakens the world until others are born type thing. Would explain how often characters get brought back to life in the comics, its the world trying to protect itself. lol
If the anchors are going to be any characters it's going to be Spiderman and Doctor Strange. The amount of times those 2 characters have shown up in seperate universes cannot be coincidental.
That’d be a cool wya to make spidey the focus of secret wars just like in the 90’s animated shiw
The person that died in the universe is totally one of the those two living people.
Yeah good point
The death of anchors/ Nexus beings causing incursions seems odd to me tbh:
1) how does one person's death affect the entire universe?
2) how does someone get assigned to be their universe's specific anchor?
3) are there multiple anchors throughout history, or do all/ most anchors just exist in the 21st century? If so, does that mean their universe is safe from incursions until that anchor is born?, etc.
This movie could bring in so many good comic timelines and I am exited to see how it turns out
So long as they are not pandering to tHe MeSsAgE

Me toooooo
What about the universe BEFORE an anchor is even born? That's the question I can't get over with this concept. They'll need to explain that well for me to fully buy into it. About the only way I see it being is that this "mantle" is passed on and an "unnatural" death in the chain would trigger it.
Yeah I agree completely. I guess the best thing to do is just see the movie because I honestly feel like all these theories and “unconfirmed rumors” make me even more confused
I think it would have to be a death that wasn't part of destiny. Something that shouldn't have happened.
That's what I've been trying to wrap my head around, and no one's talking about it lol
And why are they all from Earth?
I think it's like, the universe will exist before that anchor is born, but that anchor being born basically is like the countdown starting for that universe to be destroyed.
This might be a fun game to play. Like who is the anchor of every fictional universe. Who's the anchor of the Looney Toons universe? Bugs? Wile E. Coyote?
who is the anchor of the DCEU??
BATMAN
@@godson200who’s the anchor of the Jurassic universe. REXY
Who's the anchor of the movie Titanic? Was it the anchor of the Titanic or the Titanic when it sunk? Hmmm...
Transformers = Optimus Prime
Looey toons = pinky (pinky and the brain)
My little pony = spike the dragon
Gi joe = snake eyes
@@CHASEMARC that is pretty cool, I like that you did my little pony instead of any other and my sister was obsessed with them
I know this has nothing to do with this videos point but I just thought of this while seeing the scene of Tony’s funeral. It is kind of weird that Thor is wearing an earth suit for the funeral. It makes sense that he would have worn some sort of Asgardian funeral attire. Paying his respect and honoring the warrior that Tony had become.
Like Phil Coulson being the Nexus being of 616…
Ironman, Thor, Captain Marvel… there is no Avengers.
Nick didn’t even know about a skrull except that Coulson was replaced.
That would be so dope if they had to bring Coulson back to save the universe
Word
@@ImTyQuanyes!!!!
Totally Coulson. He was in virtually every Marvel movie until he "Died" then He was behind the scenes for all of phases 2 and 3 then everything started going to hell when he died for real.
@michaelposey6529 yeah, but we saw him in Captain Marvel... we should be able to see his LMD either between or at least cameoed in Avengers movies
I still want to see Arno come into the picture. There was a small scene in Endgame when Tony was talking with his dad. His dad mentioned that his wife was pregnant, but Tony appeared a bit confused by this. Almost as if there is something that didn't quite make sense to Tony's personal timeline.
Waaait this is not an April Fools Video? Maybe later...
🤣🤣🤣
Screen Crushes April fool vid was great , it's about madam webb
Or was it ...
Part of me wonders if these anchors are not even part of the natural universe and even the TVA doesnt know it. If the rumors of the beyonder showing up are true, what if he’s responsible for making the anchors. Would explain why the universe begins to die once the anchor is gone
That hair looking fly tho 👍
Great video, as per usual. I especially appreciate the Hitchhiker's Guide reference. 🤘🐻
the next trailer probably gonna be wolverines perspective isn’t it his movie too ?
Tony said it himself time fights back!!!!!!!!!
I bet the MCU anchor was Dr. Strange meaning to sacrifice himself in Endgame, instead he will in the next avengers movie.
I like this idea, except for one thing... What does that mean for the original interpretation of incursions from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness?
Interpretation is the key word. Humans make mistakes. So they can say they misunderstood the root cause.
@@hewhodies ohhh good point
I was expecting Deadpool to turn the video off and start talking about a different topic as an April fools video.
I'm confused, what purpose would that serve the story? This seems like a lame copout
I agree
Would what serve the story? Anchors? It makes up for Molecule Man’s role in the comics
I mean they are just making up the story as they go... so... 🤷🏽♀️
I think Cap and Tony are both the Anchors for the Avengers, IMO.
I still don't understand Logan dying when his healing factor is off the scale but I guess I need to read the comics.
Thanks for this video. I really enjoyed it.
I hope this isn't true. It will put a spotlight on any future anchor actor that would make them too integral to Marvel.
Way back when , it was proposed that at some point a blending of Disney, fox Sony marvel worlds would come together. This movie sounds like a Hard reboot of everything that includes the recasting of a lot of heroes
So I thought this idea sounded awful, it puts too much wait on one character and seems arbitrary. BUT what could work is if the anchor is the variant that causes the branch in each timeline, they would be the anchor of that timeline
That secret wars comic was in the void. I took it that they've cancelled it.
Bruce Cambell 5:56 is Owen the Pizza Poppa
what about the universes that don't have anchors because their anchors are still yet to be born ??
Aaron Stanford has done enough to hold a universe together, only to be the one that was ripping it apart.
Do you think they’ll mix this with the multiverse avengers concept from what if? Having Deadpool collect other anchors during or after Deadpool 3…
Fiege: ….. yeah, uh yeah that’s EXACTLY what I had planned 😅
Only halfway through, and maybe you’ll get to this, but so far, that makes it feel like the anchor would very clearly have been Tony Stark
i feel like this 'anchor' is a terrible concept. if this is the direction they are going this way they need to flesh it out differently/ more as it seems sort of nonsensical currently. like a universe only exists for one 'special' person's life...
Good video
It's still strange to see Deadpool in a nice clean uniform.
Deadpool and Wolverine is gonna flop hard sounds like a metaphysical nightmare
I honestly enjoy when you guys do Rumors it’s entertaining to know some of these ideas that could be possible.
What if Tony Stark was an anchor and that’s how they bring RDJ back into the fold!
Called it!
Hell no.....
Heck no
I hope not. I love him but we need the franchise to move on
They have to bring him back with all the trash they have released recently. If they don’t they go deeper in the hole. Bring him back keep the energy at 100 send him back off but replace him with someone just as important. But if they didn’t bring him back let’s be honest we world except it if they tried to implement someone we didn’t know or who haven’t earned it.
April fools?
No
@nalday2534 no I was asking if there is gonna be an apil fools video like last year or year before?
If thats true than Loki must be the anchor of the MCU. He's literally the one holding all the timelines together. Without him, everything is destroyed.
But I really don't like this concept of anchors in general. It reinforces main character syndrome and makes it seem like all the other people in the universe are less important.
I haven't been this hyped for a movie or superhero movie in quite some time
Yep, I knew it, Bruce Campbell is a Cosmic Anchor. Any universe without him in It is doomed.😊
My personal issue with this is is that we’ll never get an explanation as to why it’s only heroes being the anchor and why not John in accounting.
We've seen this before. It's buffy the vampire slayer ("in every generation, one slayer is born, ..."). It was amusing silliness then, but it just seems dumb here.
You guys need to break down lost!
Anchors make sense. Alternate timeliness begin because someone wandered from the sacred timeline. That person would be the anchor for that line. Maybe Kang is the anchor for 616 and that's why it is the sacred timeline.
Dr. Strange even admitted later on in either No Way Home or Multiverse of Madness that Tony Stark actually didn’t have to die.
My money is on Phil Coulsen being the anchor death, and Earth’s mightiest assembled for the first time to…..avenge…him.
Imagine this epic moment ... Thanos turns out to be the 616 MCU ANCHOR and when he walks in, to the shock of everyone ... queue Brolin, "I am inevitable."
They need to just stop making things overly complicated. Just say it’s a time travel thing and move along the plot
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤
Plot twist, Wolverine and Deadpools goal is to save Quicksilver
Like this idea, the anchor, but I’m very curious who it is I was thinking, maybe it could be Kang could be the anchor because when he died in the Loki series, everything was in chaos when he died, and it took Loki it to take it over or Wanda could be one too but I do like the idea that Loki and Wanda’s purposes is to live on and not to die it could be a regular person or a side character it doesn’t have to be the main heroes or villains like someone in the background someone who is insignificant, but it turns out there the most important it would be funny if it turns out to be Happy Hogan is the anchor
If so (about Tony) it would mean, when Thanos said “I too am cursed with knowledge”, that he would NOT have known Tony was an “anchor.”
Good ideas
Marvel executives: wait… you WANT us to milk Robert Downey Jr for content?
Please be a secret door. Please be a secret door. Yay
Watching Disney try to write themselves out of terrible movie decisions is kind of the whole game at this point. The Sequel Trilogy… the Multiverse Saga… all examples of sagas going terribly wrong… Every subsequent piece of media is just a huge vacuum cleaner erasing their mess
Huh, remember the Canon Event thing in Spiderverse ?
Anchors are similar
Tony probably wasn't supposed to die cause he basically started the universe
What is after Secret Wars Part 1 and 2, Marvel made a Secret Wars from Deadpool’s perspective, like in the comics
I think the Cap salute is just a nod to the comics. Because in the Deadpool comics, Wade is a Cap fanboy. And Cap is always trying to put him on a decent path. Their relationship in the comics is entertaining.🤣
Thanos could have been an anchor. Reversing the snap and killing him was a BFD.
Self pruning timelines would be something that a post Kang TVA would make sense. Hands off control.
Steve Roger’s was the heart of the Mcu and he hasn’t had his sacrifice yet so it is for Shure gonna be cap
Love the h2g2 ref haa
Odd....for some reason I have the urge to buy a Lenovo. There wasn't anything glaringly obvious that would make me want to buy one recently....hmm.
Stan Lee's
tony coming back and saving the multiverse would be insane
How did the 616 Universe survive for billions of years before the Anchor was even born? Personally, I believe Marvel is making things up as they go along.
That's how comics and movies have always been. That's how any serialized story is. Having a start-finish plan is actually pretty rare.
Of course, they are making things up as they go. They literally admit to that during Thanos
So Rocket is the anchor, right? That’s why the hands that guide the hands won’t let him be done yet…
I feel like the anchor characters will be wade himself, hence why so many deadpool cameo have been "leaked". maybe wade is supposed to collect wolverines dna to improve his own healing factor
I think it would be interesting if Thanos turned out to be an anchor being, making him ...inevitable
Nice
Makes sense why he wasn't "designed" to make the sacrifice play, as they put it in Avengers because 616 relied on his existence.
Way to sneak in a quick clip of hitchhikers guide to the galaxy
What if its hawkeye he was suppose to die but never did maybe thats a glitch in the system he was suppose to die heaps of times but made it into quicksilver
I'd rather they went for a "pillars and beams" concept, instead. Multiple characters are pillars and the more those people die, the weaker the universe gets until it, eventually, collapses. The beams are specific events, which cause disruption to the overall structure and warp it: e.g. Thanos' snap, the death of He Who Remains, Wanda becoming the Scarlet Witch, etc...
Maybe the anchor is reincarnated at the time of their fated death. If they are killed before that fated death or anchor point it causes an incursion and death of that universe? Just a thought.
So clearly David Bowie was our anchor and now everything is descending into chaos.
I think our world’s anchor was Mr.Rogers… RIP ❤️💔😢
It doesn't make sense that it's Tony Stark because the universe hasn't been destroyed yet.
And if there are anchor people then obviously they must switch in between different anchors as people are born and die. Otherwise, none of these universes would have futures.
Great video. I guess the joke is Tony Stark as an anchor. Sure I like the story beat, but the premise of him being the little center piece and no one else stood out. Eeeeeh. There is an argument there, but Tony wasn’t why I watched all these.
Loki watched Thanos kill him via recording. And Thanos watched Thor kill him via recording. Poetry.
I wonder if we'll get a Steve Rogers cameo at the TVA or something. Like a Cap from another timeline somehow became an analyst at the TVA idk.
What about the Anchor from NBC 5 News??
The anchor for the Fox universe was Rogues first boyfriend.
What about Deadpool being the anchor and the TVA in the trailer trying to take him and control him?
Yea he died in the comics but he is almost immortal as far as the MCU is concerned.
My character will be introduced during secret wars can't wait for everyone to see😂🎉!!!
i thought i read ACTORS death and got a lil worried for a second lmao
Woah. I always thought DanielRPK identity was kept hidden considering he's been one of the most reliable & credible mcu leakers for awhile now.
How about this. (Gonna throw a taste of a recent SR video in the mix coz i watched them back to back. Plus lots of edits coz my roomate interupts a lot.)
So, some of this is going to be me thinking pre-Majors debacle, like what i think might be the logic a year or more ago. So... eh. But so many stands ins are possible.
The "sacred timeline" is not the only possible timeline out there. He Who Remains has (so far) crafted what we know as the MCU ST. With Deadpool and Wolverine on the MCU horizon, perhaps there was a nexus point, a person that a Kang could cleave apart very VERY early on, perhaps after an experimental mistake. Maybe he empowered a fledgling mutant in the far flung past, and saw what havok was wrought. Perhaps apocalypse was the first to be "kind of" "pruned," causing a bifurcation of Fox/MCU timelines. The Fox variant being more timey-whimey, having no established guardian of timelines. So maybe a rama tut type? And thus, He Who Rama-tuts went one way and HWR another, pruning all mutants or did something to restrain their presence in some way. But the Fox multiverse had barely even an inkling of time travel rules, so... both nexus and anchor?
What uf the original miguel was the nexus being of his universe and it was his death, not our miguel's arrival, that caused his universe to die
My money is on Tony Stark especially after What If.
Hear me out… at the end of Loki season 1 we don’t actually know what the true cause of the timeline branching is when he who remains is explaining his gambit to Loki and Sylvie before they have to make the choice of killing HWR or leading the TVA and HWR stepping down… in the timeline book they place the timeline branching event after Tony Stark’s funeral and Captain America’s choice to stay in 1940’s, and maybe that might be the real reason the timelines started branching because Tony’s death was cemented at his funeral (no one wanting to change his death or alter history) and perhaps even Captain America not existing on the timeline anymore getting his alternate timeline with Peggy meaning maybe there are certainly no “anchor(s)” anymore???? IMO I think it’s a combination of Tony and Steve being the duo of the MCU and now the only one left of the main trio is Thor so maybe HIS death would kick off Secret Wars and the destruction of the main MCU (616/199999) and merge it with all other destroyed alternate universes into an amalgamated barren wasteland scape AKA… THE VOID…? AKA… BATTLEWORLD?!?!?! We’ll have to wait and see.
My body is ready
So Anchor Deaths are the MCU’s canon events probably cause they legally can’t call them canon events
I call BU£L§H!T…all of those MENTAL GYMNASTICS when all Marvel has to do is rehire J.Majors as Kang The Conqueror, to complete The Multiverse Saga. He’s innocent & it was a misdemeanor for crying out loud! Many Studios including M@rvel/ Dizney have stayed behind actors & directors guilty of far worse. Smh
They should have DP think Cap is the anchor of the MCU but really it’s, of course, our boy Tony Stark 😂💪🏾
9:22 thank you, ONLY RIGHT
doesnt matter cause secret wars leads to infinity Gauntlet saga part 2, a reboot of the universe and a 2nd major battle, eventually fixing the timeline, no more incursions. multiverse able to cintinwithout issues and then the future of any Marvel film not having to be continuality to wvery single project before and after released
Also if you have not I suggest somehow go back or find the book to get into the multiverse saga and understand how this will all play out
I think all these multiversal destruction stories are too silly even for comic books. So an entire universe with hundreds of billions of galaxies that has existed for billions of years can be destroyed if you just destroy kill one person? And if you kill that person, all the matter that the person is made of still exists, those atoms existed before the person was born and they will exist after the body decomposes. And even ignoring the law of conservation, does the idea work with storytelling or worldbuilding? If the entire universe hinges on a single individual, wouldn't everyone in the universe be focused on trying to protect this person? Wouldn't you have the Asgardians, Kree, Skrulls, Shi'ar, Phalanx, Eternals, Deviants, Celestials, Galactus, the Phoenix Force, etc. all going to earth to make sure this person isn't harmed?
Thanos was the MCU anchor, deal with it. Actually, not only MCU but other realities as well. Even in Dr Strange 2, Thanos was killed by Illuminati but Dr Strange of that reality caused incursion and then wanda cause incusion. That universe was also marked for destruction when their Thanos died.
I'm in, sounds good to me
Anchor possibility from the x-men animated series… (sorry but I don’t have Disney +, so I can’t look it up). At the end of “Beyond good and evil”, Apocalypse had almost won, but Wolverine messed up his plan.
