12:58. My classical and film oriented shop has become more and more Presonus oriented for this reason: Class compliant (where it doesn't impair features) hardware and software that is frequently updated. From Notion and Studio One to Faderports (1's and 8's) and Studio 192 audio interfaces, I've been extremely happy. I've yet to regret a Presonus purchase. I'm not saying they're perfect. Their lower end line of studio monitors are just as awful as everyone else's lower end line of monitors. I'm not running out the door after their microphones either. I've no idea how their live sound boards hold up - it's outside my scope of work. But the kit they're best known for seems competently designed and produced, that plus the hard work of frequent updates is worth going back for.
I love that there is an auto-detect mode now for edit plugins! The manual assignment is preferred for me in most cases, but auto will be great for when you are trying out plugins you haven’t used or don’t use often, or don’t want to take the time in the middle of a session to decide how to map a plugin to the faders which you haven’t laid out yet. Been loving the total hands on control with fp16 for the last year. Amazing! It’s the way I’ve been wanting to work in DAWs for so long, but haven’t been able to up until this point . Also glad to learn about the shift+pan hotkey for editing input-gain! Will use this today. Thanks for showing some of the updates.
When I started using Studio One, I got the single Faderport with the plan on upgrading to the 16 down the road. After some months I realized that simply clicking on a track and having the single Faderport dead next to my mouse is all I would ever need. It's great.
@@DavidHHermanson I was (poorly) saying the single Faderport is all I will ever need - I decided not to upgrade. I think it's easier to click on the track and use the fader than to look for the corresponding track # on the larger mixer.
Fucking had nightmares this week trying to keep it from freezing up in Reaper 6 trial. The FP8 update works better with my old Nuendo 4 and Cubase 5. Ive yet to try Studio One download that came with it. Hmmm
Been mixing TV and promos for Discovery for the past month from home. I really like it. No hassle, it just works.

just moved over from sonor platinum to studio 1.5ver..now to the faderport8 i just purchased..much to learn..this was helpful...thanks...
I wish it had OLED screens.
I wish I could tilt the displays or wish the displays were canted.
I wish it had a master fader.
I wish it had meters.
knobs for panning is another one to this list!

I have two 1's (different workstations) and you're right. We have an 8 and will soon have a 16 for mixing work.

When will they upgrade the firmware so I don’t have to switch banks when I go outside the current 8? It seems like it would be an easy fix.
Gregor is great. Love all his videos
Can I use the Faderport 8 to help record instruments (a drum kit)? I have Studio One pro, and the 18i20 3rd Focusrite. Bet ya can't tell I'm a newb?🤫
No inputs, this just controls the DAW
Pretty awesome Gregor...can the StudioLive 32 ( like the FP) have these same functions? certain plug ins..and or native
Can anybody tell me what happens if you stop by hand (accidentally or not) a moving fader? Thank you
Always wished there was a 9th for master volume
I think when you press the Master button, the nav scroll wheel will turn your master fader up or down.
Yes that can be used for the master fader.
How does Faderport work with Izotope RX8?
Okay Gregor, you sold me on the plugin and vi control. I hope you get commission :D.
waye it is no Faderport 24 and 32
Faderport 16 with Cioks DC7 = win
I like the product but they need to make it more attractive to reaper users.

Cool
No knobs no buy. SSL UF8 all day
This guy looks like Frodo
Gregor is laughing his ass off at something we don't know! The price?
He always acts this way.
Nice piece of kit but too pricey
Really? I think it's priced really well considering all our can do
for what you can do with it, the price is very low, you can pretty much control any parameter with it, you can also do a payment plan if you need to.
