Man, I was trying to remember this song for a while now. I remember this song being played quite a bit on the radio in January of 2007. During that time, we were having an ice storm here in Oklahoma. We had been visiting my aunt in the hospital. She was unexpectedly dying from cancer that they had found about a week prior. My dad had just bought a nice truck with his income tax money the week before, and someone stole it while we were in the hospital visiting her. We never got it back, and didn't have the insurance yet. After having just drove an hour back home from visiting her all night and day in Tulsa, we got a call from my uncle that she was about to pass. So we hurried up and immediately started driving back. Roughly halfway there, I remember this song coming on the radio. I was sitting in the back seat, staring at the orange sunset, thinking about the song, my aunt, and the sadness of the whole situation. Right after this song finished, my uncle called to tell us that she had just passed. 2007 was a very bad year...and that was only January.
@Gutslinger Glad things worked out so you could figure out the song. I'm sorry about the hard times that initiated the memory, but sometimes it brings back good things, too. The night my grandfather died I was listening to Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here," which is still one of my favorite songs of all times. Every so often it makes me think of him and that night, which sucked, but 40 years later it mostly makes me smile. Keep the faith, bruthaman! Also, even though I'm late with this, welcome to the channel!!
Thank you again for the beautiful sentiments, Breanna! I'll put those songs of Chris's on the list--he's just so good it's ridiculous. I'm also gonna do "Teddy Bear" by Red Slovine at some point, and will bring a box of tissues when I do!
@Jenna Kaufman Welcome to the channel! As for the song, I reacted to it about two months, and the link follows. I'm sorry you've lived with that. As timing has it, I'm reacting to a similar song tomorrow (Jason Isbell's "Yvette"), and hopefully it doesn't get blocked. It's a rare song that I drop f-bombs in my reaction, but there were a couple in tomorrow's. Here's the link to "Alyssa Lies"-- ruclips.net/video/uJfzEhigOME/видео.html
I got to talk to him about that song about two years back. I'll share a video at some point about a 9/11 memorial project that I've been working on for about three years, and "The Impossible" factored into it (hint: "Unbendable steel, bends...").
This is such a great song and was something I was hoping for for about a week after my grandfather suffered a stroke. Unfortunately "The Impossible" did not happen for him and he passed away earlier this week.
I think he left the label due to artistic differences. Not uncommon for artists who have had success and want to do more of what they like, to move on. He'll be fine with touring and will put out more music when he finds the right match for him.
Ouch!! But I hear ya about some songs being hard to hear because they hit too close to home. I can listen to almost anything now, but for a while during and after my divorce I couldn't listen to a lot of songs.
I used to work as a Nursing Assistant on an oncology unit. So many times the patients hung on ..waiting to see their loved ones one more time. Other times, it was the other way, family would stay at the hospital by their family's side for days, then as soon as they would leave just to go home for a little break...the patient would take their last breath..as if waiting for them to leave, so they wouldn't have to see them lapse into eternity. It was the toughest job & the most rewarding paid job I ever had as an NA on the oncology/hospice unit. @@RockN2Country
We had some good years under Schiano--in 2006 we climbed to #6 in the BCS standings, and have had a few other mildly good seasons up to the time he left. Out defenses were regularly in the top ten in the country when he was here, but after he left we had one decent year, then went down the toilet for five straight years. Few of us see us recovering from where we're at now.
OK Let's go ahead and get another on the list Tracy Lawrence "Find Out Who Your Friends Are"
Both great singers from Arkansas along with Collin Ray. Well at least in this Arkansas girl's opinion.
This takes me back before my husband passed of cancer. He would sing this to me. Ty joe

That funny bc i love that song and somehow it was our class song the year I graduated 😂😂 tells alittle something about the class we had that year lol

No offense, but Rutgers football has been bad for a few decades, not a few years.
