Commenting from Western Canada. European groups have taken so many North American classics from DooWop to Rockabilly and improved them or maybe just breathed new life into them. Dion is still the best at every one he ever did though.
If you haven't heard his album from last summer (Blues With Friends) do yourself a favor.
