Opening of the tenth Mediterranean Games in #Lattakia in 1987. 18 countries from the Mediterranean region competed in 17 sports. A special celebration in #Syria witnessed the start of the Mediterranean Games in the Sports City.
The municipal stadium in Lattakia, established in 1978, has a capacity of 40,000 spectators and, at the time, it was one of the largest stadiums in the Middle East.
