I dont get the whole Superteam conversation. Every team with 3+ multiple time Allstars (not only before they team up, also during their time) is a Superteam! And they have another thing in common. Those teams never form natuarally. They are either traded for, or signed in Free Agency. So yes, the 08 Celtics are a Superteam. The 2010 Heat are, the 2015 Cavs are... the 2021 and 2022 Lakers ARE NOT, cause Westbrook isnt even close to being an Allstar anymore. The current GSW are more then a Superteam, same as the Spurs or Bulls were... they are Dynasties. Cause the core stayed together for most of their careers. Same as the 80's Lakers or Celtics. Extremely great teams that won multiple Championships with the same core over a longer period of time. Why do people have such a problem understanding that difference?
A super team is made on the court. It's irrelevant what they look like on paper. You can't be an underperforming super team. If you don't dominate the league you aren't a super team.

2020 Lakers being a superteam is crazy. The two superstars were only Lebron and AD. They had a great supporting cast. If we're simply calling really good teams superteams, then the term holds no meaning
On the '88 Kareem, avg 15pts when teams be scoring 80pts/game is just about as good as averaging 30 when teams be scoring 120's and pace of play is emphasized.
That's simply not true. 80pts-->120pts= 150% increase. So keep that up 15pts with a 150% is a 22.5pts. also that's saying that a player will score 15 points individually in the teams 80 points and then would score the same in the next 40 points. That just wouldn't be possible for the whole team for all players so you can't extrapolate like that.
The 2013 Heat were loaded. Had Ray Allen on the bench. Chris Bosh, first Ballot HOF, Wade is top 3 at his position all time. Great role players like Battier, Chalmers, Mike Miller, Birdman. That's his super team. Maybe that Cavs squad with KLove and Kyrie.

Keeping it a Bean Iverson being on the 2003 list along with T-Mac is not bad. Seriously only thing people say about Iverson is that he had horrible FG% which I agree but him in the early 2000’s was a 4 or 5 time scoring champion. It’s not because of the cultural impact for me but he was putting up big numbers. Yeah shooting low percentage because of him being the only scoring option, plus taking mad difficult shots was gonna put him in bad FG% but him and T MAC without a doubt belong on this list. I need more context to see why not.
Your take on Slow-mo reminds me of Brian Scalabrine challenging and owning everyone at the park. I don't think people realize that 15th guy sitting on the bench is going to smoke the majority of people in this world.
I agree with ur Kobe/ Kyle korver take a little bit but the way jj reddick and Kyle korver are able to sprint into threes on the move is very difficult and underrated skill
Super teams? What about when Oscar Robertson went to the Bucks and won with Kareem. What about when Wilt goes to the Lakers joining West and Baylor. What about when Moses Malone went to Philly to join Dr. J. When Clyde Drexler joined the Rockets in 95. What about Rodman joining the Bulls. Were those super teams?? Those are just the ones that where successful, but what abou the ones that where not so successful. If people want to talk about things maybe there should be some top to bottom to it, just saying.
If you want to hear my 2 cents with 2k comparisons that we all understand with the Kyle korver vs Kobe is: Player 1) a slightly early release and wide open/lightly covered coming off a screen 3pt or corner 3 with hall of Fame ~ catch and shoot, corner specialist, deadeye. Or. Player 2) green (perfect release) mid range with covered or smothered coverage using hall of Fame ~ clutch shooter, space creator, and deadeye. You tell me who's the better shooter. Also keep in mind what it takes to be hall of Fame in those categories while making that shot.
For the take that was comparing 1988 vs 2022, I think Jimmy was doing that comparison via all-time rankings. That’s why he added that the players from 2022 still have time to add to their resumes. Bc obviously we’re taking prime Embiid over out of his prime Kareem 10/10 times
Sage is tripping on that super team stuff. Just in the last 20 years has been more than 5 super teams. 2004 Lakers, KD Warrior, Harden KD Kyrie Nets, the Bron Wade Bosh Heats, the 2012 Lakers ect...

A super team in my book is a time where you can legit say, “pack it up, the season is over”. I say it from the perspective that only a few teams had that kind of energy. I can’t say when the K Love and Kyrie cavs formed around Lebron that the cavs were just gonna steamroll to the chip. And I would say the Russ/AD/Lebron Lakers was a polarizing force. Some were saying it’s over, others like me thought it would ruin the Lakers. The thunder were more of a super team when Carmelo, PG, and Russ played together. Just my take.
the lakers with russ was a joke nobody actual thought they were going to do anything with AD declined westbrook empty stat and lebron getting older that was like cool but cute anyone that said they’re a super team is just plain hating and buying into skip baseless narrative
the only team at that time that was like oh shit, this is kinda scary is the nets. When they were blowing team out before injures it looked like one of those season
Like the bron Miami team, the warriors.
@@LeafyPeachthe Bron/Kyrie/Love Cavs actually did steamroll to the finals tho. All three years. Their best comp in the east was Toronto. *LeBronto* ...
Why do people have such a problem understanding that difference?
i mean kevin love avg'd 26 and 12 on the wolves before goin to the cavs, he just had to take a step back to fit like bosh did
17 warriors not a super team?
A super team is made on the court. It's irrelevant what they look like on paper. You can't be an underperforming super team. If you don't dominate the league you aren't a super team.
Giannis over Hakeem is so casual, Hakeem is going any single thing Giannis can do and then some.
Imo the only ones they win are larry bird and karl malone
As someone who played d1 football and averaged 14/5/4 in AAU basketball and my uncle donyell played in the nba 15 years coaches g league now I hate that everyone thinks some nba players aren’t athletic even college players I’m 6’0 245 people were surprised that I’m 26 years removed from football only played one year due to a achelis and acl tear but can still run a 4.78 used to run a 4.55

2020 Lakers being a superteam is crazy. The two superstars were only Lebron and AD. They had a great supporting cast. If we're simply calling really good teams superteams, then the term holds no meaning
Well you already know bro… according to the haters…whatever team LeBron is on is automatically a cheating Superteam squad…
@@jazzroyale7260man exactly, they actually say that now they won.. I wanna know the great players on that Lakers team
Big agree.

Peak Chris Bosh was the raptors.
Heat bosh was declining. He was a fringe all star, a 3rd option.
D wade was already declining due to injuries. So he’s no longer a superstar.
@@alohatigers1199 he sacrificed his post touches to be an outside shooter, play hard defense and be an undersized Center in small ball line ups. Post LeBron Bosh was able to be the best player on a good playoff team until he had blood clot issues and had to retire early. Toronto Bosh was a beast on the block, but he became a stretch five because that made his team better at the cost of his numbers and being forced to bang with bigger centers.
Bosh
LeBron
Battier
Wade
Chalmers/Ray Allen/Norris Cole
That was a deadly line up with spacing that was far ahead of the time. I hear you, but Bosh would have been an all NBA 4 if he has been stubborn but he sacrifice his own numbers and Hear got back to back championships
@@alohatigers1199 and Wade was still an all NBA caliber guard. 2014, he got hurt and they fell off, but four straight finals, two wins, one of the best regular season winning streaks, the Harlem Shake, 2013 was a great team and the best team in Heat history. Four Hall of Fame players, LeBron was MVP, Wade was all NBA and Bosh was a top 20-25 player. Then you have Ray Allen as an elite shooter off the bench we a bunch of role players like Birdman, Chalmers, Battier, Norris Cole and Mike Miller. IMO, you can’t call a team a superteam before they play. A superteam to me is a team that is head and shoulders above every other team.
Nah. A super team is a team with at least 3 players that are top 3-5 at their positions.

Fun Facts: Of all players in NBA history to average 20ppg, here are the top 3 in 3P%
1. Steph Curry
2. KAT
3. Kyrie Irving
So there’s that for his 2 weak rebuttals trashing KAT and Kyrie. (Curry’s shooting is not light years ahead of Kyrie and KAT definitely has a STRONG argument for greatest shooting Center)
Three or more perrinial all stars/all nba guys is a super team
if 2013 Lakers were considered a failed super team so are the 2021 Lakers, and Cavs (even though they did not fail). Only reason they don't want to call them super teams are 1. boost Lebron's legacy 2. because the Warriors existed. You drop that Cavs team in any other era, they are considered a super team with no hesitation.
Crazy how y'all didn't mention primes when talking about the '03 cats but it's the first thing y'all mention about' 88. Using certain criteria to fit your take, heh? Solz was more logical and consistent before messing with Sage, smdh.
I love how at 25:51 he as Donovan Mitchell as a superstar and no one noticed…

Super teams? What about when Oscar Robertson went to the Bucks and won with Kareem. What about when Wilt goes to the Lakers joining West and Baylor. What about when Moses Malone went to Philly to join Dr. J. When Clyde Drexler joined the Rockets in 95. What about Rodman joining the Bulls. Were those super teams??
