      I don't think that applies to everyone across the board either. But it is more common in salsa than in rumba. You can't dance rumba if you're not one with the rhythm.
      Many dancers learn mainly technique in salsa. Too little attention for musicality.
      A good example, who can dance a slow salsa expressively with few figures?... I would say very few. It is the task of the dance schools to fulfill this responsibility.
