Yeah, I haven't really found an MMO I like for pvp. Granted I never thought wow pvp was that great, atleast in recent years but still, not having an MMo to fall back on kind of sucks.
I honestly think it's a cop out to blame the harassment on why the game is bad. The harassment is bad on it's own, it doesn't need an additional layer of justification to be upset with Blizzard about. And on the flip side, the game is bad with or without the harassment. What harassment took place during 2020 that led to a hollow 9.1 patch? During 18 months of work from home, what harassment do you think happened? You can MAYBE pretend that the game can't get better because of it, but the underlying formula/core design is broken beyond belief and no amount of grab ass caused that.
95% of WoW content creator specially PVPers I've seen, are complaining about PvP being broken af, and yet blizz doesnt give the slightest damn about them... can't understand this... like literally... :(
PvP has always been the little part of WoW, few items few BG´s few arena scenes and a few mounts, look at raids and dungeons, always alot more of that in each expansion and in classic too
We used to get new bg's with every xpack, some raid bosses dropped exlusively pvp gear, entire zones dedicated to large pvp battles, other zones had small pvp objectives, unique evolving gear sets for pvp etc. It was a much bigger part of the game in the wotlk/cata days. Not bigger than pve but it was practically 50/50
becouse every single ecounter in PvP is different. You go into Tirna Scithe and if you are here second time, you know which mobs to focus, what they can do to you and all these things. In PvP you go into AB and your enemies are always different. Sometime you meet some gladiatos, sometime you meet some noob that just autoattack you. So the need for more enviroment is less here, as the enemies are more various

I honestly don't see why people say that. The only thing that's worse is the tick rate. Everything else is better. Gear doesn't matter, only skill. Your pvp abilities are a separate kit from your pve abilities which means the balancing is separate which is way better. And you unlock everything at level 30, so no having to wait until endgame if you just want to get into pvp asap. The only people who wouldn't like that are no skill andys who only play pvp in WoW to outgear people and two shot them. It has low participation only because it's side content and has no ties to core progression, so people only do it if they want cosmetics/achievements or if they just actually enjoy it. And the truth is that pvp in mmos is just really niche so unless you incentivize pvp with core progression like WoW does, people just generally aren't interested. The only reason WoW pvp has decent participation (besides the people who are just attached to it from playing so long) are people who are doing it just because it has vendor gear that pve doesn't have thus it's a deterministic way to get some gear while pve is all rng. If they didn't bring back pvp vendors, pvp would have died off way quicker.
7:35 thats something I'll never understand and my friends do it too, race to the fucking end get all the best gear then don't play the game. I get not everyone has time to play much more than maybe an extra couple nights besides raid days but seriously, why waste the time getting gear to only raid log until the next tier/expansion comes out?!?!
I think it has to do with personalities. If one type is led to want to rush to the end they will try and make their friends do the same so they can still play together.
Idk, why don't play fighting games instead PVP MMO? I mean there's lot's of good PVP type of games out there (moba, arena shooter, fighter, card game, etc). Just find one you can enjoy, and you can always go back to play WoW. You just fight with your friend and chill. No weekly chores, no gear progression, just skill progression, execution and game knowledge, pick your character, no BS. Even learning something new can be refreshing. MMO PVP always have problem with gear progression and always breaking the balance too much after the new content.
ay man if it was that simple nobody would play wow pvp but arena type games akin to wow arenas / bgs ar a different type of gameplay from a fighter that is 2d sideview , and other pvp type games dont fill the same niche

At least, BfA had tons of wpvp, remember faction assaults in warmode? saw people all over the place fighting like in a world war kinda game, thats the spiriti of warcraft. Warfronts should have been PvP, isles was with pvp option. Isles were better designed than borfronts and the dev team double down on that by releasing HC warfronts instead of proper PvP ones. Such huge mistakes should cost you the game director job...... But on the other side, SL has absolutely nothing at all. It really deserves to be burried and forgotten.

All I want to do is run dungeons, raid, grind arena, and most of all just smash in casual BGs. I only started raiding so I could smash harder in BGs. It’s all I want out of this game, but current WoW makes that impossible. I have to spend all of my available free time doing chores just to hopefully get far enough to actually have fun in BGs in a couple of weeks/months. Super casual adult mode now and just don’t have time to grind meaningless solo content just so I can participate in the social content I want to do.

Wow can go free to play do a cosmetics pass like all games do i swear , it will just blow up , plus a content drop boom there you go your game is fixed now , go and develope wow 2 you will have plenty of time and money to do so , we are not talking about graphiques you can just switch the engine that will open new paths for the game , i swear sometimes i think that blizzard is just don't wanna think or that they know this but they don't wanna do it .

Second best pvp game is guild wars 2. You don’t have to be cap lvl. Once you done your first personal quest you could jump into 5v5 pvp.
