Voltage is the difference in electric potential between two points in an electrical circuit. Voltage is expressed in units of V (Volts). This quantity measures the potential energy of an electric field to cause an electric current to flow in an electric conductor. Depending on the difference in electric potential one mains voltage can be said to be extra low, low, high or extra high. While electric current is the amount of electric charge that flows per unit time. Electric current can be divided into 2, namely, Direct Current (DC), which is a current that has a fixed or constant value with respect to the unit of time and Alternating Current (AC), which is a current that has a value that changes with a unit of time. with characteristics that will always repeat for a certain period of time. The current symbol is I (derived from French: intensity). While the unit of current is Ampere.
Voltage and current are two very important concepts in the study of electricity. The concepts of voltage and current can be easily explained by drawing an analogy with water flowing in a pipe. The amount of water flowing in a pipe can be equated with the amount of current flowing in a wire. It doesn't matter if the pipe is big or small as the amount of water stays the same. Thus, current is measured by how many electrons flow in the wire. As told earlier, voltage is the force, driving, or electrical energy. Thus, it can be equated to the speed or force at which water exits the pipe. If you have connected the pipe to the faucet in your garden, the force will be lower, but when you connect the pipe to the water coming out of the pump, the strength of the water definitely increases.
