I ordered my Retina iPad Mini today! So excited to get it! I ordered it in Space Grey and 128GB. App sizes just keep getting bigger so I thought 128GB is worth it for an extra hundred. It's better to have too much space rather than too little or just enough. It just sucks that it won't be coming for a week or two (confirmation email said I should get it November 26-December 4). Hi got one over boxing day and I had to take it back after a day. I got so use to my wifes Nexus 7 the back space button and the freedom that comes with Android. I did like the fluidness of the apple but it's hard to live with how much they confined the os . :( thanks for the reviews.
I like both colors. I got a white iphone 5 and am getting the space gray mini. I don't mind the white on the iphone since I am not watching a lot of movies on it where I have the black border. Honestly the hardest part of buying Apple products is deciding the color.
I was chatting online with apple customer service and asked what the point of the M7 chip in the iPad was useful for, and she honestly copied and pasted the exact words from the apple website about the M7 coprocessor. Pretty sad.

The purpose of the M7 on the iPad is for Power saving. According to Apple the M7 can tell when you stop using it and set it down on a table. Also its good for when u are using it in the car to prevent popups asking to join WIFI networks
I like the white color Jonathan because it pairs well with the predominately white iOS7, whereas the black model contrasts too starkly with the white based OS. It almost hurts my eyes. Videos do look good with a black border, but, but they aren't so bad with the white borders either. Lastly, the space grey back is nicer, but with a case on, we rarely see the back of our Pads, at least I don't.
Can u do a scratch test? And a review on the otter box case because I noticed a rainbow effect in the screen protector that's pre-installed on the case so I just wanted to know your thoughts on it. :)

I like the white models more because they seem to have less glare. I had black iPad 2, got white iPad 3 and mini. Really excited to try the mini with Wacom Intuos Creative Stylus - drawing on the iPad mini is somewhat lackluster. I use the mini more than my iPad 3 due to size and weight, but for art, the retina screen is much better. I just hope that the new mini Retina display has good tracking. Some styluses like the Hand stylus don't work well with iPad mini because the tips are too small.

So its processor does clock at 1.3 instead of 1.4 on the air. I notice my iPad air does run a little faster than my iPhone 5s. Especially when jumping between apps.
The reason for the M7 coprocessor is battery efficiency with anything from the parallax effect to gaming. (Load sharing) And apple hopes for better fitness apps to come of it too, but unlikely on iPad.
I'd rather get the Air. I'm surprised they put an A7 processor in it rather then the A6. The new space gray color is a lot nicer than the old slate color IMO.

The M7 coprocessor could be for the iPad orientation (portrait or landscape), Maps (Direction), Games (such as Real Racing 3), and the iOS 7 floating/moving icons...thats what i think the M7 is for on the iPad Mini with Retina Display and iPad Air :)

As far as I know it is about 3GB. 16 GB - 3GB = 13 - (around) 1 GB (for some reasons you never get 16GB nor 32, it's more like 15,31) =12 GB. If you think you can live with 12 GB get it :D Personally I would get the 32 GB.
Great unboxing video! I'm getting the iPad Mini 2 in Space Grey. As what you pointed out, when watching videos or playing games, I find the white stands out too much and is distracting. The black would just flow right in.
I've worked (notice the past tense) at a Best Buy in Canada before. Your smart case experience makes me want to bash my head too. When I worked there I went 2 weeks without seeing my manager, and only lasted 6 weeks overall. I didn't actually receive all my "required training" before I left the store haha. I used my own knowledge above all else, as the training was non-existent. Stick to Amazon ;). If you can elaborate, I'm curious what iOS 7 alterations you would like to make it more of a "tablet OS". Haha I can relate to your best buy experience. I work at Target and had to explain to the staff who work in the entertainment area what was different between the iPad 3 and iPad 4 they didn't know what 'lighting connector' was also here in Australia the 3rd Gen didn't get 4G. I *facepalmed*

The iPad mini 1 is 308 grams, and the retina one is 331 grams. Not a big difference really.

how is the brightness when lowered all the way down?
Good, although fingerprints make it hard to see so clean it so it has no fingerprints if you want to have no brightness
