It's funny this reminds me of a brother in my Campus fellowship that kinda led me on too,came closer to me, send texts, told me when he got a car and lastly sent me love text and at that point I demanded he follows the fellowship rules of seeing the marriage committee instead of messing with my head. That was the last time he really spoke to me other than asking about me from a fellowship sister in my faculty. By the time I saw he's been long married on Facebook,I believe he couldn't be that long married if I was the only one on his mind at the time. So it's real that people lead on and may not be serious about it. Anyways I got married to my husband in 2014 who finished same year with him, same fellowship (I've known him for many years before and didn't know he was going to be my husband until he proposed to me after meeting the church marriage committee). We have two pretty girls now. I hope this blesses someone😀. My husband and I are huge fans of you guys.👏👏

I could remember years back,I used to know this brother who would take me out on special occasions,buy me love cards ,some gifts but never said a word to me in terms of relationships. I had all his love card hanging nicely in my bedroom,with different sort of romantic words. He left me completely confused,I didn't know where I stand ,then one day I summoned up the courage to ask him if he was going to marry me. 😂 looking back I shouldn't have said do you want to marry me?I should have used a more subtle word that what are your intentions? Anyway,these Brother asked me to go and put me question into writing 🤭Gulliblely I did.I later realized why he asked me to do that so he could show the letter to his friends that a sister asked him out.Well! I was deeply hurt and felt cheap cos he didn't reply my love letter or proposal letter 😄.He was young ,intelligent,eloquent and was working in one the new generation banks then,so he thinks he could get any sister he wanted,as he thought he was overqualifed. Did I mention this Brother was not really handsome,honestly that is the gospel truth. But being a young Christian sister ,I didn't even notice that until when I married the helper of my destiny,that is how I could describe my husband. I married these young brother who came to Nigeria from England on holiday and our chemistry clicked .We have been married for 13yrs now and it seems like 13 days to me.Morale of these long write up,trust in the Lord with all your heart ,not all close relationships led to engagement or marriage. Brothers!stop leading on innocent sisters like me making them believe they would be proposed to one day,it's a sin toiling with other emotions!Subjecting them to Mental torture. I thank God the Brother did not propose to me cos I would have said yes without praying and that would have made me miss my path in life.sorry for boring you with this long version 😘

This happened to me more than once and I had to start praying to God to deliver me from the spirit of lust. Then later in Life I realised I was the one hurting myself and ask questions when I'm getting emotionally attached and occupy myself with the things of God at the moment and it quietly passes. I was once led on by a brother, i asked him are you in any form of relationship, and he said no, i was happy, we could chat talk, text and talk on the phone, months later he didn't say anything about marriage, and months later he told me that he had a girl friend, i was hurt and I thought i was imaging a future with someone's husband, God forbid. But i was really hurt, he even sent me pictures of the girlfriend i cried, but then the funny part was i pretend to be happy for him whilst I was hurting deep in side. 😂😂
First and foremost, I am so pleased to know that Mount Zion movies still exist as I last watched it about 20 years ago when I was in Nigeria. On the other hand, I highly commend Ella for her honesty and transparency. Thank you for not attempting to fake any accent and using the typical Nigerian accent. I am so proud of you as a fellow Nigerian and I am sure many Nigerians in diaspora will say the same. The typical question outside of Nigeria is usually where are you originally from irrespective of your accent and where you were born; whether in the Caribbean, in the US etc Everyone outside of Nigeria celebrates their accent and don't attempt to change it. In countries like the UK and US, there are numerous accents across the same country and people are so confident in their skin so often shameful to see some Nigerians who are so insecure in themselves but thank God you are different. Bravo to you!

Lmao I'm basically the sister you talked about at the beginning. TBH this is more rampant in Christian circles. I'm learning to do better by asking questions from the onset. I don't have time to waste.
If I will be sincere I have been on both sides. I have led some bros on(not in words, I make my No clear right on)in actions. Saying No and yet acting like"you might have a chance if you keep trying", although I am already very certain if they try a million times, it's still No. The holy spirit convicted me of this and I repented. I didn't take responsibility earlier on because I thought if i verbally said No, they are responsible for whatever happens after. But the holy spirit made me see that, yes I said No, but behaviorally I was still saying "maybe". So I repented. And I have also been led on, to come and find out he has a girlfriend. it pain me ehn! hehehe. All I can say is pray and hearken to the Holy spirit. Cos in that case God instructed me to sit him down, talk and cut things off, way before I found out he was pursuing someone else. And thank God I obeyed even when I didn't understand. it was still painful when i found out but way lesser than it could have been. So beware, not only of others but of yourself too. My contribution to this is that there are times that the other person just simply misunderstands your politeness for a YES/ ACCEPTANCE. I have found myself in this situation many times where a brother comes as a normal casual friend, calls to check on me often just casually and I also tries to be as polite as possible, ( I mean am not suppose to be rude as a Christian, am I ? ) before I realize he has gone far to convince himself misunderstanding my attitude, so by the time they make their intentions known and I make my stand known to them, they react as if I led them on, how is that my fault, should I now be rude? The truth is I can't be, I mean is not in my DNA, so I believe a lot of people also male / female have found theirselves in this same situation as Dara said, in the end it looks like it was their fault as if they led the other person on.

Thanks for this guys........the more reason why relationships are to be defined...... we did something related to this in my fellowship(drama ministration) few weeks ago and i was telling my members in drama department how this affect the victims I mean if one is not careful one can lead to an asylum all in the name of one ugly undefined relationship. God is helping us. brothers pls freed us oooooooooo cos most times the victims are ladies.
Man will be uncaring and wicked, ge do bad. Man will be nice and sweet and everything, he is leading you on. Which way na😅😅😅.
