Late on this. Love your videos and DVD. I did 6 years in the Corps and switched to the Guard as an 11B. Would love to hear more about you how real with your peers and subordinates as a Christian. In terms of the guys under you, I always find a struggle in balancing Grace and Discipline.
You're a prime example of the phrase "Once a Marine, always a marine". Just because you're out of the military doesn't mean that your service ends. Thank you for all that you do, from one Marine to another, Semper Fidelis!
Good afternoon SSgt Nichols, I just wanted to write this to tell you how much I have enjoyed all the footage of your time at MCRD. I went to Parris Island (graduated 2/13/04) but often rewatch your videos that jog memories I had forgotten from my time there. I actually sent my buddy the clip of you teaching the guide to carry the guidon because we joke about "over up cut" all the time. One thing I will add that always stuck with me is how my drill instructors would always say boot camp is the easiest part of your military career. I always scoffed at that until my first deployment, then I really understood what they meant. In conclusion thank you again for the nostalgia and video proof of just how outstanding the Marine Corps drill instructor is. Semper Fidelis
I stood on the "Yellow Footsteps" 5 Oct 73, Plt 395, India Co, 3rd Bn, MCRD, Parris Island. Thank You for your service. Semper Fi from an old Marine Sgt......OUT
Happy Birthday SSGT! I think we went in at the same time? I was MCRD PI 1996. Plt 1117. Like you I still make an effort to recite all the stuff they taught us.
@@SSGTNICHOLS hell yes Brother. You da man. I love your videos. Been 42 years since I went to boot camp but still remember the day I arrived and the day I graduated as if they were yesterday. The time in between remains a mind numbing blur. But that means it worked 😆
Fellow brother in Christ, glad I came across your channel. Just graduated from DI school 4-21 Parris Island. Excited and determined to take some of your advice and apply it. Semper Fi!
Good luck at Boot Camp, I agree with Ssgt Nichols. Here's some free advice. Make sure you DO NOT look your Drill Instructor in HIS eyes. Look at HIS forehead or the the brim of HIS "Cover" (hat). "IF" the Drill Instructor tells you to look into His eyes for some reason, do it. Semper Fi from an old Marine Sgt.... OUT 5 Oct 73 - 4 Oct 77
Absolutely. I stopped running with the cool crowd early as a Lcpl, that gave me opportunities for growth because my superiors saw I was dependable and reliable also required no supervision. They are always watching to mentor a Jr Marine.
I have lots of USA Army & USA Air Force in my family. However, most of us USA natural born citizens are proud & all to glad to remain alive & well & free!! God is love! God is glorious! ❇☀💐🗝🗽
In the military are you really respecting the person or are you respecting the rank. A sergeant major asked me this simple question would you rather be liked or respected? I said I would rather be respected by being a good leader and listening to my subordinates and never forgetting where you came from. A lot of leaders forget where they came from and think they are above those under them.
Military(army) is what I’ve always wanted to do but I want to travel and from the research I’ve done which isn’t much the navy would be my best bet. But lately be been think and looking into the marine corps. When I was in jrotc in high school a marine recruiter came and talked and asked who was joining the military and I raised my hand and for some reason I was his target
I want more Marine Veterans to address love & sex in our 🇺🇸 USA Military. How it's still very much part of our society. Also, what can a soldier do if they're being falsely accused of something?
I just don't think being humble is necessary anymore for any reason. I'm not arrogant either. The problem with leadership anywhere is lack of accountability.... nothing to do with being arrogant or humble before God or our USA Country 🇺🇸.
Do you feel bad for having been part of an organization that invaded Iraq on spurious grounds? An invasion that has caused the death and displacement of millions of people from that region?
@@SSGTNICHOLS Yes, the decision to invade Iraq on spurious grounds was made by elected political leaders. However the decision to be a part of the USMC and participate in this invasion was made by you. Yes?
@@johnbaker2837 maybe it's time you read the Bible, you're obviously a liberal, Iraq was and still is a corrupt nation that degrades women in ways you can't imagine, God uses any nation he wants to invade other nations due to their wickedness. It was Iraq's turn and God used the US for it. The US is corrupt as well and we may be next, so be more appreciative that there are Christians in this nation that ease God's wrath.
@@jasonbourne5142 You're talking about how Iraq degrades women when the US has transgender 6 year olds marching in gay parades? Please! You're talking a lot of self righteous BS.

SSGT NICHOLS I would love to see your advice for Marines that want to volunteer for drill field.
Are you still in the Marines?
Wish people would give 2nd chances. Would love to earn that title and messed up...
