- Опубликовано: 9 фев 2025
- In this week's episode, Patrick and Stuart deal with flooding in the courtyard of the chateau farm. They also have a visit to a local emmaüs to do some shopping, and show a recent visit by some other RUclips vloggers to have lunch at the Château de Colombe before Patrick's parents returned to Germany.
Join Patrick and Stuart on their journey to find a neglected, forgotten, or crumbling château or castle in France, and then continue to follow them as they work on its restoration, rénovation, decoration, and furnishing. Along the way, they will also create and share videos on their preparation for having gîtes for guests, and an event venue in their chateau (wedding, birthday, anniversary, organization or club meetings, retreats, etc.).

The little ceramic to hang on the wall,it’s for wooden short matches.we had one in the 1950s,next to our gas stove. Love you guys, watching all your videos😊❤️⭐️🥇🌻🆒🇺🇸
That little kitchen ceramic piece I believe is for matches.
The little porcelain wall piece could be for kitchen matches. 😊
Indeed. Thank you. ❤
Yes the tall matches!! Probably by the fireplace!!
Exactly what I was going to post. Definitely for matches.
@@lisabroucekmattson1039 fireplace matches would be longer.
Yes the small porcelain holder is for matches. Sometimes had a scratcher on the side of the metal ones.
That little ceramic box is for holding matches.
Thank you. Spot on❤
Yes, we have one at the cottage from the 1940s.
Just came here to say the same 😀
My grandma had few like that by her old wood cooking stove, but she had salt and pepper in them, with a little porcelain spoons.
Great finds, Guys, the little box that hangs on wall with the lions on the front is used to hold matches for a wood stove or by the fireside to start your fire. Very useful. A fairly large box of matches fits in vertically.
We needed that. Thank you so much. ❤😊❤
Makes sense. I wondered if it was for candles.
And I believe it is Gien earthenware.
I was just about to comment the same thing...
@@frankgyori2740 me too
'If they have soup in them, then they're soup bowls.' 😄 🤣 😂 Love the fun thrift finds! 😍
It was a fun trip. 😊. Thank you.
The ceramique wall mounted box is for holding twisted paper tapers for lighting fires and candles. The design and decoration is emblematic of antique designs from the pottery workshops of Rouen and are based on tin-glazed Majolica. The heraldic device is the provincial coat of arms of Upper and Lower Normandie. In fact, the same design as my avatar, used in honour of my home. We have several of these in our château in Calvados, where they are hung next to our fireplaces. The coat of arms is known in Normandie as "les p'tits chats" - 'the litte cats' and is attributed to William the Conqueror, Richard I and the 12th cent. arms of Anjou. You'll see the design presented as gules, two lions (actually leopards) passant on all heraldic devices in Normandy. The best way to eliminate blackberries is to eat them. Once the bush has stopped producing, cut it back, dig up to relocate the canes elsewhere in your grounds. Blackberries are a resource. I appreciate how fond you are of making jams, preserves and chutneys, but you can also make fortified wines, cordials and tissanes, or use the berries in desserts to flavour ice cream, cheesecake, cake, muffins and cookies. Best wishes from Caen. X
Salût a Caen. Thank you for your fantastic comment. We will hang this one in the kitchen next to the fireplace. So exciting. We have so many blackberries on the property….. we won’t run out! But a great tip. Hugs from Colombe. 👍🏻🥰👍🏻
That's my advice. cultivate them. I grew up in washington state, and blackberries grow everywhere, wherever anything stops moving for a period of time. My grandfather got tired of fighting with them and trellised them. If you cut them back and train them, it reduces the blood sacrifice needed each year to harvest.@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452
Love seeing all the beautiful babies! They are lovely and so well behaved. 💕💕
I love your inspector general watching the unwrapping of the new acquisitions 🐕
We couldn’t get it right without the expert supervision. ❤😂❤
I lived in Berlin for 3 years. I told my daughter if she gets a tattoo she should get Made In Berlin. I got pregnant with her there, I wished I could have stayed a couple of more months to have her there.
Oh my gosh guys, 🌩🌨🌧⚡ 7 atmospheric rivers and 30 inches later, we finally are seeing some clearer skies. However, we are going thru a freeze for a couple of days. ❄❄❄ You must of received some of our rain. Can you believe it ! So unpredictable global warming and "Mother Nature" can be. Many people lost everything. I wish us all some much needed peace and quiet. Bless you both and much love. Stay safe dear ones ! 💕. 🌴🌴🌧🌧🌧🌉🌉 🌩🌧🌨🌴🌴
Texas here, I have a similar stand, Inherited, from my Grant Great Aunt. I was told it was a tobacco stand. It was lined with tin to keep the moisture out. I thought I would never see another stand like this.
That is amazing. We have never had one. Hugs to you from Colombe. 😘💕😘
I have a similar stand and it is lined with gorgeous copper. I was told by antique dealer it was to keep cigars fresh like a humidors. TO the back is a pull out door to hold pipes
And smoking related paraphernalia? That is lined with felt , but the felt was worn out , so I refined it with
New felt. I keep tea boxes where cigars used to be kept and tea strainers etc , special spoons in back drawer.
Unique pieces can be used in unique ways to suit our fancy. Any piece of furniture
With drawers , intrigues me .
The Villeroy an Boch planter would be amazing using as a kitchen utensil holder spatulas, soup ladles etc.
That’s a fun idea. Might be one size too large though. ❤
I believe the Villeroy is called a cachepot
I agree the little box is for matches. It looks to small for salt. It also looks like you are going for a blue and gold theme. Cute side tables!
We might settle for gold and blue……. Who told you? 😂❤😂
Powers of observation! But Blue and gold Notre Dame colors, husband is an alumni.
Lovely as always. ❤ Ahhhhhh, shopping. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you’re SO good at it! ❤ Wonderful how some very simple pieces can be so satisfying. Especially that little mystery hanging piece with the lions. No clue what it’s for, but absolutely adorable. ❤
And speaking of satisfying, digging trenches to move water. That must have been especially satisfying. I love doing that sort of thing. Mankind’s futile efforts to dominate water have been ongoing since the dawn of time. It’s a loosing battle, so we always savor those small victories. Well done.
Big hugs to you both.❤❤
Hi fellas! the container for the wall appears to be for matches. Often you'll see them with the word Allumettes on it. The one you got is so cute. How nice all the items you bought seem to have the same colors. Very pretty. Oh go ahead.. do a vlog about cleaning. I bet you'd make it fun and could inspire a few of us!! Hugs!
My Oma had a little thing like that by her stove and she used to keep salt in it. Whether or not that was the original use for it I could not tell, and I can not ask as sadly she passed when I was 17 which is a long time ago now. I still miss her. Your water problem is so familiar. Every rainy season our dam, which is about 10 meters in front of our house doubles, sometimes trebles in size, overflowing into the surrounding paddocks. We literally need a little boat to float out of here sometimes!! However, over the past 5 years, my husband has begun a program of "works" as I call it, (on a very tight budget, as we are on a limited income) with his shovel and wheelbarrow and he has dug trenches all over the place. Keeps him busy at least. This year with all the rain, is the first time, that within two days, all the water had receded from where it had overflowed and while the ground was soggy, it was not two feet underwater. The trench system was declared an official success!!! And he too had issues with the dreaded blackberry. It seemed entrenched all over our property and Anthony has gradually rooted it all out. Which is a shame, as I rather like blackberries. Enjoy your week guys!
Thank you, Angela! 💕
Hello. I hope you both are well. Watching you dig your trench reminded me of long ago when I was a farm hand. They used a method of watering crops called flood irrigating. When a field needed watering you would place a long pole with a large plastic tarpaulin, (a dam), covering it into the creek diverting the water into another smaller ditch. At the other end of the field you would place another dam in that ditch making sure the water could over the edge a little,, back into the creek. Then you would go up and down the ditch digging little trenches in the edge of the ditch so it would start flooding the area. It was very hot, wet, hard work and at the end of the day you knew you had done a good, honest day's work. I was 17 at the time and full of energy. That was 40 years ago. I sure could not do that now. I just thought I would share a little story with you. I have loved every minute of watching your vlogs. They are always entertaining. Take care, both of you.
Thank you! 😃
Hi there. What a fantastic memory. Thank you for sharing. ❤❤❤. It was a great method of watering crops. I think most people do not know about it.
We know what you mean. We wish we had the energy we had 15 years ago 😮. In any case, we are in the same age group and get more done than many youngsters nowadays 😂😊😂. Hugs.
As soon as you pulled the little holder out I said out loud, "that is for matches". I have not seen one in years, with instant igniting gas stoves and central heating. A beautiful find for by your fireplace or woodburner. Lovely find.
Hi Veronica. Thank you. It will be hung in the kitchen over the wood burner. ❤. It is quite pretty. Hugs. 😊
Hi fellas, good shopping there!! If you're trying to give shopping up as a hobby don't come to me as I and enjoying it with you! LOL I was amazed at how wet your yard was, yet it seemed to take you long to get at the problem and fix it. That's a lot of hard work. Excellent effort. I love the way you two work together. I wanted to say that I think the that you found a quite lovely. They can easily be used in many different ways around the Chateau. I had seen you two on another Couples RUclips channel. I knew this was coming. So nice that you're making good friends around your home. That table that you got that was literally for the indoor toilet was amazing. It hasn't been used in many years but I'm sure you'll get it super clean. I'm going to show that part of the show to my husband. An interesting find. I like the card playing table as well you're going to retire in Tennessee as far as I know currently. And they know they have a lot of shopping there with Antiques and Such. I have a few that we mostly inherited. However, I do enjoy perusing the stores. I just need a place where my husband can go hunting and fishing close by. Your puppy seems to be enjoying life. Thank you for sharing again! God bless you and yours. Love, jenwhite 💜💜💕😊
I meant not take you long.
We are retiring to tennessee. Yikes!
Hey guys love the vlog today sorry about the flooding I love you finds the small item that nailed to the wall is a match will do a wooden match holder that you hang on the wall beside the fireplace what a light a lamp
Y’all have turned your chateau into a home soon than any other chateau. One could feel the warmth and love of your home. Absolutely beautiful. The small hanging piece appears to be for match sticks hung by the stove.
Thank you so much. What a kind comment. Huge hugs from Colombe. 💗🥰💗
I think it's so nice that all you Château owners stay connected and have a love for beautiful antiques.
We are slowly getting to know the friendly and helpful chateau owners and it is such a pleasure. 😘💕😘
Yes, I agree. It is a match holder.
👍🏻💕👍🏻
The little ceramic that hangs on the wall is for stick matches.
Thank you. Spot on. ❤😊
I love digging trenches for water movement...I feel like a kid when the water starts flowing...
Enjoy all your videos. Patrick & Stewart are not scared of any kind of hard work. Keep laughing & making the best of every day.
Cathy, you have a fantastic point. Laughing and taking even problems with humor (most of them) makes it all manageable. Hugs from Colombe. 🥰💖🥰
Please tell us about your beautiful dogs. They are a big part of your life and I’m sure all the dog lovers would love to know a bit about them. Much love to you both and your furry children 😋
Hi Gents, the little pot that goes on the wall could be for salt?? or for modern day it could hold business cards. The animal on the plate is a dragon, I think. A great way to get plates, cups, etc clean is to soak them in clothes washing powder for an hour (i.e persil/aerial), but you may want the lived in look. Love the mahogany table. The oak table could have a 'secret' drawer, to call it a nicer name. Ive mentioned this on other channels, but a natural way to get scratches out of furniture is to use the nut of a walnut, just keep rubbing it over the scratch and it disappears. Easy and natural and works on any colour of wood. I used one on an inlaid piece and it took the scratch out across all the different colours of wood. It really is worth a try
I'm on for "where we're going to put it" lol
the Lion container is for wooden matches to be hung next to the stove my granny had one hanging next to her gas range for years
Thank you. I think you are absolutely correct. Hugs. ❤
You two are like 2 kids in a candy store when you go to Emmaus! So many little treasures!
Chris….. you are 100% spot on. 😂😂😂. Love it. Thank you so much. 😊😊
Finally managed to sit down and catch up on the happenings at the lovely and graceful colombe....and I nearly died thinking that colombe got flooded out 🤦♀️ oml 🤣🤣🤣. I'm so glad it was only in the driveway. But that pond! What a darling! ❤❤❤❤ and Emmaus has some many gorgeous antiques. And those 2 tables are gorgeous! Maybe that unknown draw...was where they kept the toilet paper or womens personal items of those days??? I would only assume these items because of the chamber pot cupboard 🤷♀️
As for that little holder (no it isn't for toothpicks 🤣🤣🤣 I can imagine people using it for toothpicks though 🤣🤣🤣 I will try to explain with the deepest hope that someone else has managed to tell you guys...because my explanation is going to be bad 🤣🤣🤣🤣) if I'm not mistaken its called a wall pocket. Now...if my memory serves me right ( which most times it doesnt, me and my memory are not friends most times but we'll give it a go 🤣) its a Victorian era thing 🤣🤣🤣. In Victorian times people wanted flowers every where so someone created wall pockets (wall vases)🤣 one side is flat so it sits against the wall nicely (obviously 🙄 🤣) and the other side is decorated with all sorts from flowers to decorative patterns and emblems or even as far as insects or animals and so on. They do range in various sizes. My grandmother had a collection very similar to the one you have and she use to put that green fuzzy foamy stuff for making flower arrangements 🤣 and shed cut small flowers and greenery and make tiny flower arrangements in them and then hang them on the wall. My grandmother loved them because she didn't have to try find flowers to fill huge vases and then try to find somewhere to put them. Considering her home wasn't huge so these wall pockets she loved immensely for those reasons. They truly are an amazing but uncomplicated design. Just simplicity at its finest. As my grandmother use to say they made her walls handsome 🤣🥰 wall pockets 🤣 so adorable 🥰🥰🥰🥰 (my explanation is terrible im so sorry but hopefully you get what I mean 😋😁❤)
Love this vlog. Absolutely brilliant can't wait for tomorrow's vlog!!! Sorry I was so late too the party had alot to do and I also see that there is a chainsaw vlog. I'm going to watch that next 🥰🥰🥰🥰 can't wait to see what's happening on that one! Huge love to you both and colombe and the fur babies 🥰❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I do believe the little square pottery peace is for holly water, one would hang it on the wall near a door and you would bless yourself when you would pass through the door
Hi Guys, yes the little piece is a match holder. They used to make them in metal when I was young. I turned 80 in Aug. I do remember them when I was a child in our kitchen. We cooked on a wood cast iron stove.
Happy 80s! Thank you so much. We will put it next to our wood burner in the remodeled kitchen. Hugs from 💕🥰💕 Colombe.
Definitely a MATCHSTICK HOLDER!!
Loving the things you buy. My problem has become, I have no more wall space 🙃 I'm thinking ceiling 🤔
Hello Patrick and Stuart! That trench brings back memories of digging out a flooded parking area on my friend's Vancouver Island property shortly before his surprise 50th Birthday party. In party dress and high heels while it rained!! You both looked very strong and agile out there. Good luck with the blackberry brambles! Here in Seattle folks rent goats to clear lots and hillsides. Of course, they eat everything. But you could rope off the forbidden areas! XO from Tina and Penny.
Hey you two. That sounds a slight bit overdressed for digging and I love it. Kudos for helping all dressed up. I love it. Blackberries are a pain. Growing everywhere. We will have to let some of them (most of them) live till next year.
I don’t think we could rent goats here. We’d have to have the area fenced in. They are smart and can escape in no time. 😂. But it would be fantastic. Hugs darling and smooch your baby from us. 😘💕😘
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 I went over and kissed her immediately and said it was from Patrick and Stuart!!! But my sweet, I'm seeing into the future here 😉. A fenced area for your goats. No more blackberries. And Chateau de Colombe Chevre sold at the finest French markets. The Logo? Perhaps an Irish Terrier or a Chateau? 🥰
The small porcelain piece you didn’t know what it was is used to hold matches. My grandmother had one in her kitchen next to her cook stove.
We will put in next to our log burner in the kitchen. 👍🏻
My grandparents had a china box like container similar to yours in which they kept wooden matches to light the stove.
Spent wooden matches - usually near the stove/fireplace
Agreed. ❤
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 - my grandparents had similar ones when they installed a gas stove for cooking - they had been using a fire outdoors for that purpose. I don't remember seeing new matches there - fire hazard - LOL
Hello gentlemen, as most already told, the porcelain holder is likely a matchbox holder sometimes used as cigarettes holder as well as toothpicks holder. So it holds whatever fits in. Good luck for the muddy land.
Grünkohl und Wurst- definately a German comfort food.🥰
War echt lecker! ❤😊❤
You two are so great!
I believe the little hanging is for matches .
Love you guy's! ♥
Thank you and indeed you are right, as we have learned. Thank you. 👍🏻🥰👍🏻
So sorry for all the work with the trenching but I thought it lent a magical touch the the surrounding countryside somehow. The chateau is looking lovely and you all look happy!

We can’t wait either. Love you guys. 💖😘💖
Great job getting the water running where it’s supposed to go. Great finds at the charity shop!
It's for holding matchsticks and I love it ! ❤
Those 2 are doing what I did as a kid. Small water wheels, dams, and water falls. A whole lot of fun. Of course mom didn’t lake it to much. She would meet me at the door with a towel and clean clothes.
If you make it I will watch it. I totally get how it feels to go thirfting. You found some beautiful pieces. I've been at it for years collecting vintage Christmas and kitchen items. One would think this Oma would slow down but it's my kryptonite. Lol. Love and blessings to the both of you from a cold and wet GA.
Thank you so much. And we have the same kryptonite! So we must be related. ❤. Thrifting is so much fun. I am glad you are not let anything slow you down. Love from us at Colombe. ❤❤
You so deserved a emmaus after digging a trench. Love the white dishes with gold around the edge. You could collect a complete set, and then add to it with co-ordiinating designs. Love all that you bought except for the plate with the dragon on it. Yah another video added on per week!!!
Thank you. I agree with the dragon plate. Just thought it was interesting…..😮😂. Definitely going for more old French China. Hugs from Colombe. ❤
Good job getting rid of the standing water. the entryway is gorgeous. My mother was German, and I LOVE German food. Saurkraut, sausages, boiled potatoes, etc.
There is something about German food. So many regions with diverse food. ❤. And the standing water needed to go. Work ahead but all manageable. ❤.
The little box is used in the kitchen. It was one of three boxes. In the kitchen they used sand, soap and soda for cleaning the pots and pans.
Matches
Indeed❤
The funny porcelain box with the seal on front is a match holder that hangs on a wall.
The wall piece is for several things needed in the kitchen at hands reach, such as matches, mixed herbs, and salt. My grandfather had a number of these in different sizes around his kitchen
Hi Guys..once again my age is showing as you didn’t k ow what the ceramic box was for…I remember my Grandfather having one of tin that held the kitchen matches to light the burners…love when you 28:40 show us your finds ..and your live audience..doggies watching with interest at the bowls..understand the water..we have been deluged in California…. Thank you for your wonderful video..I truly enjoy them..stay dry..❤️
We were thinking about CAs rain and flooding. I know the water was very much needed but does it have to come all at once? Hope you are safe. Yes match holder….. so cute. Love from Colombe. ❤😊❤
The little hanging pottery piece is a salt box. It was usually hanging next to the stove in most of the French kitchens. It is not for matches. It is most certainly “une faïence de Quimper”.
I really enjoyed the music/cinematography during your flood footage - and cheered not just a little when the water started moving/draining. Light and love to you both 💖
Love your comment. Love and light to you too. 💖💕💖
Good finds! I especially like the 1st table. It's a sweet one. Great lines. I quite like the candlestick and the matchstick container as well. 👍🌸
It's for wood match sticks, you are correct.
Yes guys Matches my granny had one nailed on the side of the fireplace for her wood stove haha I can still see her striking the matches to light the old stove .
Love the cake plate or you could serve cheese on it as it is nice and flat. The handle will clean up nicely. But the poor Grandfather clocks, they are so beautiful, no one wants them anymore and they are like little graveyards of clocks. The pendulum on the one you showed was so lovely.
Hi there. Love the cake plate. $1……. Or better 1€. 😮. How could I resist. As far as the clocks go….. the one you were talking about ……. We will go back Saturday and see if it still needs a home. 🤣. Hugs from Colombe. 😘💗😘
Old matchstick holder, super cute
The cute little item you bought today could be a container for matches. My grandmother had one , however, it was metal and a tad taller. She kept her box of matches for lighting the stove, etc. Just my suggestion. Love your hauls from emmaus
The thing that hangs on the wall is definitely for matches….I think…My grandma had one very similar and was used all the time.😊😊😊😊
The porcelain piece is a holder for wooden matches or toothpicks .
The small piece is for matches in the old kitchen. Hanging on the wall near the stove or fireplace.
Every kitchen used to have this box on the wall! One box for matches one for salt
That piece that you hang on the wall is for wooden matches I believe!
Loving your vlogs.
As the wall hanger was decorated with gold, perhaps it was for calling cards to be placed?
I believe the small decorated wall ceramic is a spill holder.
Some lovely finds guys.
Thank you so much Ron. Love your comment. I believe you are correct. Hugs from Colombe. 🥰💕🥰
What is a spill holder??
@@rosita3671 A spill is a long twisted paper to use to light candles, pipes etc. These would be put into the holders near a fireplace by the housemaid or other members of the household, the more decorative holders being in the main reception, sitting and dining rooms.
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 you're very welcome Patrick. I'm so enjoying everything about your journey in moving to France and restoring your beautiful, historic château. Hugs from the North of England 🤗🥰💕
I believe the porcelain wall hanging was to put salt in. Hang it near the cooker and you have your salt handy. Michele.
I love the blue and white serving plate
A quick note, although I'm sure you know this anyway....antique/valuable/fragile plates should never have wire hangers put on them as they put stress on the plates and can often cause chips and cracks. There are adhesive disc hangers which are much better and can be used but these can sometimes become completely stuck to the back of the plate. So, only hang plates that you dont mind (too much) if they get damaged in this way. Thank you for such interesting vlogs!
A lovely vlog once again, thank you. Sorry I couldn't stay long for the premier last night. You have been really busy since we saw you! We also went to the same Emmaus, but it was raining that day, so it must have been a different day to you. I won't get muddy feet now, when I come over, hurrah xxx
Don’t you worry. Hope you enjoyed a lovely evening with your dad and Tony paint. ❤😊❤
Lovely treasures from Emmaus. You can never put out enough vlogs. Yes of course I follow all you vloggers :)
They were quite lovely……. In I may say so myself. 😮😊😮. Hope the single topic vlogs without intro etc will be OK. People have been asking for DIY and other vlogs. We will try. 😮😂😮. Much love from Colombe. 💗💖💗
Hi guys, I’m so happy that I’m going to see you both twice in a week👏 loved your purchases and I agree with a lot of other comments, to put the little porcelain wall hanger next to your log burner and fill it with matches, practical as well as beautiful, loved the shot of the Chateau from the road, it looks stunning, much love to you both xxxxxxxxxxxxxx😘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi there Stella. Hope it works with the second vlog being a single subject. 🙏🏻. The hanging box will go next to the stove in the kitchen. Will fit in perfectly. Thank you for another wonderful comment. Hugs. ❤❤
Love your shopping jaunt, you managed to find lots of lovely “stuff”.
I love the way you guys jump in and just "Do it" sorting out the flooded area. Loved seeing the dogs inspecting your purchases. Some great finds again. Love the little drop side table. I do love the shopping there in France.
Hello my friend. We don’t have much of a choice 🤣😂🤣. Next week we will get our drywall supplies. And start destroying……. 😮. We will be go back to the shop for that one clock Saturday. Love to you and we’ll go shopping when you visit. Hugs and love. ❤
❤️❤️❤️
The small box with the Lyons on is to hang by your stove with salt in. Take care. Love and hugs ☺️ x
😘💖😘
The unknown piece holds matches or what my gran called spills for lightning fires and candles.
the bottom drawer would be for the Lady of the house to put her knitting or needlework into. the little box would hang on the wall near the fire place with matches or tapers to light cigarettes or smoking pipes with.
When we were young we loved splashing in water🤣
Here in the Netherlands it's been raining for two weeks now.😒
But you got the issue solved. I love all the peaces you bought and it does't have to be old to be beautiful. I think lots of supporters will be enthousiast with everything you bring from cooking to restoring items. 🥰
Hello my dear Connie. Weeks of rain are so depressing. We had 10 cm of snow ❄️ last night and wonderful sun today. I hope you will get some better weather soon. ☀️
And wasn’t it fun to jump and splash in water as kids! I loved it. I hope viewers will like the shorter videos of us just doing projects. Much love as always from us in Colombe. 😘💕🥰.
Always a joy to follow along with you both you make meme 😊 ❤❤
Thank you so much. Hugs. 💕💗💕
Love the soup dishes. I would use them as pasta bowls.
Match stick holder kept on the kitchen wall
I just wondered what the standing clocks cost, you could have one in every room ! Wonderfull things you bought !☺
Music was perfect for digging your drainage trench!
Loved your shopping finds!
Have a good week.
Nothing more fun than splashing about in water outside!!! 💦💧💦💧💦💧Some lovely furniture pieces!!! They look like soup/stew bowls. I would have a difficult time leaving those shops!!! 🤗❤️🇨🇦🇫🇷
It is so hard to say….. no, we don’t need that. I say that to myself a lot……😮. I am with you. And splashing in water outside…. The best. ❤
I thought the table was a sewing table and sewing supplies could have been kept in the drawer but that does not add up if it had storage for a chamber pot! The china looks as if it is for a kitchen, to keep things in. Thank you for the video. Have a wonderful day!
Sewing table was my thought too until they showed the chamber pot cupboard! Back to the drawing board.
The mystery item looks like something you'd hang by the stove and put matches in it. But those usually have a fixed, open "drawer" reservoir at the bottom for the matches to fall into from the top as you use them. But yours doesn't have that open reservoir at the bottom. Very similar looking though.
That’s a great point. We will find out. I haven’t gotten to last weeks comments. Under floor heating in rims this size won’t work. We asked……. 👍🏻🥰👍🏻
You are incredible and very inspiring. Everything you do is a great job, which is so interesting to watch ✨😍
Thank you so much, Camille! 🥰
Wall pocket is for matches. Really cool piece.
Im glad you found the outflow and managed to clear the water build up. Ivy and Hawthorn seem to be a nightmare at rural properties in France. Also loved all your purchases every one of them. Thanks for taking us along 👏
It was such a relief. Now we can get gravel to fill. Before, the water would have just sat there. Ivy (the plant…. 😮😉😮) is a big problem for us. Killing it where we can. So glad you liked the items we got. ❤😊❤. Hugs from Colombe.
le petit pot c'est pour mettre le sel a la cuisine☺
I get so disappointed going to the different antique/vintage stores around here and I don't see beautiful dishes and glasses for a good buy. The little match holder looks like a cigarette pack holder😀... look forward to a short video! even the thrift store shopping is fun to watch!
I know what you mean. No comparison. The match holder is so cute. Hugs from Colombe. ❤😊❤
That. Small thing goes next to a wood stove to hold matches. 😊
Just found myself bobbing my head forward and back to the last 5 beats of the opening theme song! Classical thunder. Then I caught myself tilting my head from side to side during the brocante music. I love the plate with the fleur de lis and the coat of arms being eaten by a female Irish terrier or whatever that little beasty is. What are the markings on the back of that one, please?
