There is a another way you can solve the problem. You do 11/6 × 9/2= 99/12. Put in mixed number form which is 8 3/12 then simplify 3/12 which equals 8 1/4. Now it's the same mixed number.
In this example 3 goes into both 6 and 9, but what if you have a number like... 11/4 x 5/2.. What do you divide the 4 and the 5 by? I understand how to do it with fractions that are in the same times table, but I'm confused about numbers that aren't.
You do realise for me to comment about something in the video, I have to watch it right? He explains how 9 turns to 3 and how 6 turns to 2; however, in equations I have done, the numbers have been different and don't appear in the same times table. Don't matter I worked it out for myself anyway.
U find the L.C.M of the numbers then divide the fraction by the L.C.M and it's simplified it's that easy... and btw not all fractions have the same L.C.M plus L.C.M stands for least common multiple in case u didn't know tht😅😆😇
