    So random I come across this video searching for another 4Runner issue and was literally thinking the other day about taking off and painting that horizontal black strip on the front grille. That middle strip has gotten all chipped and wanted to freshen it up. Still on the fence about removing my running boards. Solid video!

    Great post! We share the same passion for the 3rd gens. Mine is an ‘02 with 112k. Second owner. Keep thinking I need a new car but every time I look at or drive mine I think no way.

      99 here. Over the decades I kept driving new 4-runners and never thought that the new ones were better than the one I had. I loaned the 99 out to my son and went out and bought a 2018 to replace it. It is a great car, but I still love my 99 more. I have the 99 back now. There is something special about it. My retirement/pandemic project is to fix up the 99 which is heavily rusted underneath. It is worth the effort because the frame is still structurally intact for the most part.

      @@jeremysanchez3531 me too with my 98. I got almost 290 on it and I don’t want another. I’m the second owner and the car is as old as me

    Hit those rusty screws with a shot of rust-oleum rust reformer. It is easy and it works.

    hey man i actually started painting my grille too cause of your video. i’m going to add clear coat but how long should i let it dry before i put it on and start driving again? and once i start driving will it mess up the paint if i don’t wait long enough?

    • @JLeeChron
      @JLeeChron  4 года назад +1

      Andrew Garcia Don’t be in a rush-if you are in a warmer environment, just wait 24 hours. I would let it sit out in the sun and drive for at least a day. It should be good to go. I would not paint it/Or clearcoated then go out driving four hours later, just plan a day or two

      Zip ties man

    • @JLeeChron
      @JLeeChron  4 года назад +1

      Louis Toledo just make sure you get Toyota ones, the cheaper chinese ones will work but break easier and are not the best fit.

      @@sethmartin9814 Yup for 14 bucks, I will use a couple of zip ties. Why put them back in when they are nearly impossible to remove anyway. Un Necessary pain.

    Hello, I have a 2000 4runner, could you make a video changing the cabin air filter?

    • @JLeeChron

      Sure. Presto, Done.
      Because, a cabin filter doesn’t exist.

      @@JLeeChron I think the same, but I'm a little confused because some tell me yes and others say no, I've looked for it and can't find anything, they have a blower and there are videos about it but nothing more; thanks for answering

      @@jonnydelatorres5933yes the blower is 3 screws underneath passenger side, cabin filters were added to later years.
