- A video taken right after the N.Y. blackout in august 2003 (not 2002 as in the video title) A rather unique compilation of a full 2 hours flight over NYC, more than a year after 9/11, with Yankee Stadium, Central Park, Empire State Building, the WTC site from the air (20- 22 min), Statue of Liberty, Coney Island and some 9/11 impressions in New York. An interesting time document. Put on the internet for Lynn Cullen, Stephanie Cowell, Maria Imburgia, Bill Davis, Amie Clarke, Eleonore Speckens, Tasha Alexander, Deanne Reuter, Mark Childs, Lara Treinis-Gatz, Karla Zinnell, Stephanie Renée - dos Santos, Shimon Dotan.
NYC will never be the same without them. They can never be replaced, even by the new buildings.
when they were there, people hated them. said they looked like concrete blocks, ruined the skyline. now they say it wont be the same without them.
people are so fake, always changing with the wind. smh
@@poochinskyyeah And that’s why some are obsessed with them like me 😠
Those who said they hated them when first built are just as bad as the Terrorists who actually wanted them gone !?
AND WE the pEOple Ain’t no better since we won’t even Protest the Replacement of what was Wrongfully taken away !
@@APerson-ni1gb Don't quit your job to start thinking for a living, OK champ? 🤦♂

It's so hideously transparent, and desperate.

Twin Towers, was the most beautiful tallest building that I have ever seen
most people hated them
nope, many people (including myself), liked them
@@robroy6374 Well then you're in the minority. They were widely criticized pre-9/11.
And then they were gone, and suddenly people started deciding that they'd loved them all along.
then how come the WTC were featured in many movies, tv shows, music videos, ads photos and videos? you're the one who is in the minority, bub.@@ThisHandleFeatureIsStupid
But in that time almost people think they're ugly buildings.
The NYC skyline really sucks nowadays. All the supertall thin billionaire skyscrapers ruin the iconic buildings like Empire State.
NYC pre-2010 for me please!
The ESB’s been the tallest building in midtown for 80 years. I can’t imagine that in 80 years the WTC will still be the tallest structure in NYC
@@vegasboy5931 🙄
Miss when the empire state building stood out the tallest in midtown now in 2023 its barely recognizable in the skyline with all the new skinny towers and hudson yards blocking the jersey side views.. I wish it stood out the way it used too its a shame the city didnt protect it
This mentality is the reason why the midtown skyline pretty much looked the same for 80+ years. I have no problem with there being taller buildings than the ESB
@@vegasboy5931 fr, people in cities seem to hate on every new building project, then wonder why space is so friggin expensive!
Lovely and haunting at the same time...

@@thomasbrunn4182the twin towers are no longer😢😢
The is what the people on flight 11 and flight 175 saw before they slammed into the World Trade Center. "Oh my God, we're far to low." Flight attendant Madeline Sweenys last words.
Rest in peace to those who died 🤍🕊
My respect goes out to their loved ones
I am truly so sorry
Thank you to their who tried saving another life including firefighters, police officers, nurses, doctors and many more
Thank you to those who built the World Trade Center ❤
yea you say that every year
Yeah you mean the ORIGINAL World Trade Center ?
Those that built the Replacement are traitors
What are you sorry for exactly?
@@Leewise1 for the passing of the loved ones , also how there families and friends won’t be able to see them anymore , I feel sorry for the pain this caused

surprising how much Manhattan has changed in 20 years
Manhattan got bad after 2009 with all those unnecessary ugly and bland very tall skyscrapers (like 432 park avenue) and worse with gentrification (people from out-of-town aka 'fake new yorkers') unfortunately.
@@robroy6374The skyline can’t stay the same for 100 years
doesnt even matter. its ugly now.@@vegasboy5931
@@vegasboy5931sure, but the toothpicks genuinely kind of suck

Please how big is this city?
Hey Rudi? Did you write in the wrong title?
Was it before or after The 2003 Blackout?
I'm sorry to asked when the helicopter fly above the construction side is that the place of the world trade center located?
Just after the 22 minute mark you can see ground zero.
Damn Ny don’t even look the same without the towers
Yeah
Just days before or days after the nyc blackout
Fog or smog?
How does this video have 27k views but only about 320 likes…
Because the title of this was misrepresentative, that's why.
It’s sad seeing the Empire State Building all alone in the skyline
The twin towers was like the 2 sibs
spider city
New York the most beautiful city in the world before 21st century architects turned it into Shanghai.
before the 2010s actually.
You're trolling now 😂😂😂

It was in 2003 or 2002?
Definitely looks like 2003. In 2002 the WTC site was still in mostly disarray
Its 2003. you can see the top of the Times Square Tower still under construction at 19:03 and was opened in early 2004.
This is 2003..
Well observed Adam, thanks!
No this is 2002
yea there something missing trying to figure it out just a oversized parking lot there
no, this is 2003. you can see the top of the Times Square Tower nearing completion at 19:03. the tower was opened in the following year (2004).@@iruiz9350
@@thomasbrunn4182 it's your 🍆 if I'm not mistaken
Two years after 9/11
Almost
Should have made All of it As a Perimeter Memorial
But no they had to be soulless and make a New one over Peoples Lives
wrong
The new WTC has a massive memorial in the area where people died. Nobody died in the areas where the new buildings were built. Only fatalties were in both towers and the hotel all of which are encompassed in the memorial area. They made an excellent balance of providing a memorial, but still allowing for office space and other amenities the original WTC had.
Say what you will about what was built, but the usage of space is amazing.
@@doodledangernoodle2517The Occulus should never have been built though a shopping mall on a grave site is really disgusting
@@ianloeb1672 the shopping mall isn’t built over where anybody died. It doesn’t connect to the Memorial
@@doodledangernoodle2517 yeah it is it is built on the grounds of the former WTC complex so yes it is built on human remains

Unless it's absolutely necessary to keep them there, I'd recommend removing the names you've put in the description. 👍
