- Hey guys, a lot of you have probably heard about the rumors involving Shawn and Hailey Baldwin dating. Just yesterday, BILD released audio from an interview they had with Shawn at the MTV EMAs where he states that he is NOT dating Hailey Baldwin. No matter what, we should respect both of them and if you're in the mendes army, please don't leave her hate. I personally don't like Hailey but for you to bash on her is not okay. Firstly: thank you for making this video! I really appreciate it!
Secondly, I want to say something about this whole ‘drama’ going on around Shawn and Hailey.
I want to say that I can think of a couple reasons why some fans might don’t like Shawn dating, in general.
I am going to be a bit too honest right now, but I am one of these girls who dreams/daydreams/like to think, or whatever you’d like to call it, about what it might be like to date Shawn (I know it’ll never happen, not to me at least) and I can understand that some girls can’t really ‘dream’ about it anymore because Hailey becomes part of their ‘dream’. Their ‘dreams’ get kinda ‘crushed’ (I don’t want to call it ‘crush’ but I can’t really think of another word). I am sorry if this is not really clear but I hope that you can kinda understand what I am trying to say.
What I am not saying is is that you should go send Hailey hate. Because of two reasons. 1. None of you does know Hailey in person. Not even if you followed her on instagram/twitter/snapchat for years. You, might, never had a conversation with her. A real one! So, you probably don’t what she’s like. She shows only what she wants that the world sees from her. Like a mask type of thing. And Shawn does it too though. Just like most people do. You don’t know her personality. I personally don’t know anything of her, only her name and face, but nothing else. I am sorry if I offended you with what I wrote above.
Secondly, if Shawn loves her, then that’s 10000% okay. Because he is 19 and that is a normal age to date (in this society it’s normal if you already have a bf/had sex when you’re 14). Imagine it this way: if you’re Shawn and you’re dating Hailey. What would you think of YOUR fans hating on someone YOU love? I personally wouldn’t like that. I would think that they don’t respect my decisions and I might even think that they don’t want me to give my heart to a person I trust and love with every cell inside of me. (I am not saying that Shawn thinks this but this is what I would think if I replace myself in Shawns shoes)
So, don’t hate on her! And as Shawn ones said (and I am sorry if I f*ck this up): but if you can’t even say something rude or anything else that’s not nice in someones face, you should definitely not do it on social media. (I know that I didn’t quote it right)
I know that there are a lot of fans who don’t hate on Hailey and they never will. But this is for the part that does hate on her.
I love Shawn and all I want for him is to be happy. And is it turns out that they’re dating than I couldn’t be more happier for him. He does everything for us. Writing albums, doing tours, performing. And tbh, without us he would never be able to do it. He does it for us, to make us happy. And I think that it’s now our turn to let him be happy. He is just a regular dude with an abnormal life/career. And he should do whatever makes him happy. Because seeing him smile, wether it’s because the crowd sings their hearts our or he’s in love. Idc anymore. I just want to see him smile and feel loved and everything good. He is an angel and nobody should take away/break his wings.

Guys, be happy for Shawn if he's found love again, we should respect that. I find that the true Mendes Army are the ones who don't go behind his back and hate on Hailey and say 'Omg Shawn is SUCH a liar'.
