Amazing when you consider that they only had 10 days to write this, practice it and get it in the can; that with the additional problems of the Covid restrictions where Alessia had to contribute online. The amount of effort, ingenuity and dedication to achieve this as good as it is, unbelievable and mind blowing!
Edit: I have always thought that the ending was a statement to everyone that 🖕🏻 we could have done it like that easily!

Alessia couldn't travel for the video and the projection on the wall/smoke was an awesome solution to the problem.
Just one of the amazing things about the sisters (the list is a mile long) is how their unique personalities come through so clearly on stage. Individually, they are riveting. Together, they are sublime. One of the tightest live bands I’ve ever seen.
It took 30 years to get a version of Enter Sandman that I would actually search for, to listen to.
For me that's the way covers should be done. Don't show me that you know how to play the song note by note. That's for young ones to learn their craft (like TW 10 years ago). Show me you're a craftsperson, a real musician, and make it your song.
These sisters understood the assignment and delivered like nobody else for the Blacklist album.
It IS perfect!
I can't even imagine the pressure they were under to create this masterpiece, for the original songwriters, and doing it in ten days!
Dany doesn't just sing the prayer when playing this live, she GROWLS it!!!
The Warning are very liberal in regards to copyrite . . . No need for filters or stopping every 20seconds . .
If its on their channel 99.99% sure free to use . .
Some of this years festivals have been blocked .

I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Alessia very sweetly puts you to bed, then Dany rouses the troops, shares a little prayer, the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the Sandman tale told as a dark lullaby. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one.

Alessia Cara is a Grammy winning Canadian Pop and R&B singer... they had 10 days to rip this rendition of *Enter Sandman* from the ether and make it a darker, more eerie, and a more haunting lullaby than the original metal version... they made the deadline and got this OMV for it to boot!
this reimagining and performance were done because they, and many other artists from numerous genres, were invited by Metallica to take one of the songs from the original _"Black"_ album, keep the lyrics and change it up how ever you like... play it backwards, upside down, whatever... this was all for the 30th anniversary of the _"Black"_ album... all the submissions from 50someodd artists were put on the 2021 _"The Metallica Blacklist"_ album... the proceeds from the album sales are split 50/50 with half going to Metallica's "All Within My Hands Foundation" and the other half being donated to a charity of the participating artists' choice.
in the OMV, Dany (guitar) and Alessia share the lead vocals until they are in the three doorways when Dany takes over and Alessia does more of the background oooohs and aaaahs... the version they play in concert has Dany doing the vocals with a backing track of Alessia's ohhhs and ahhhs... of course Ale (bass) and Pau (drums) join in with their angelic harmonies in both... this is a fantastic reimagining of the iconic original... this 60+ year old rocker loves both versions of Enter Sandman but this one by TW and Alessia gets more airtime these days 😹

It's the first song on the Black Album because ES was the first album cut, and the artists are arranged by first name (Alessia is the featured artist).

I don't remember exactly where she said ti but I believe Pau said the the drum part she's playing during the "now I lay me down to sleep..." part makes it too hard for her to say that part live. The drum hits and the rhythm of the speaking don't match up.
What I heard that originally Ale was suppose to do the prayer solo. But she had her wisdom teeth pulled before this collaboration landed at their feet. Dany was busy recording something else so Pau did the prayer out of a fast approaching deadline The Warning had. *Only 7 days to write, record, rehearse, mix & send Metallica's people a master of *Enter Sandman* for pressing.
About why Dany does the pray live now. IDK. I've seen Pau did some amazing drum fills while singing before that didn't affect her. More likely it was for continuity since Dany took over Alessia Cara's portion as well.

*JUST A LITTLE CORRECTION:*
All songs on *Metallica's Blacklist Album*are laid at by chronological order of their Black Album. So *Enter Sandman* was the first song. Then the second song on the original Black album is *Sad But True.* On the *Blacklist Album,* there are 6 covers of *Enter Sandman* & 7 covers of *Sad But True.* All back to back. That's disc one of 4. To appear not to favor one artist over another. The artists who are doing say one of the six *Enter Sandman's.* Will be placed on the album by alphabetical order. This artist was listed as *Alessia Cara & The Warning.* Since Metallica originally asked Alessia Cara to participate. *Not The Warning.* That's another tale.
