I spent good money on an inspection of a plane that I absolutely was not going to buy when I got the lunchtime call. And I spent good money to inspect an RV that I did buy. Equally well spent.

Great video, just think what these folks would have bought had they not hired the Blue Ox team. I'm pretty sure almost all of the things found would never have been found till it was too late buy the new owners.. New or used, makes no difference, get it inspected.

Yes please! Show us some good ones. Maybe some more like the "she lost her RV" one you just did, where the customer had 4 inspections before finding a good one. For those of us shopping and going through similar things, finding bad one after bad one, deal breaker after deal breaker, videos like that give us hope that there are good ones out there and if we keep looking we will find one. That particular video made me feel better lol I had this impression that I would find a rig, have it inspected, the dealer would fix all the problems, and then I would take it home. Silly me. I never imagined I would walk away from rig after rig. Hearing that I'm not the only one made me feel better. And that story had a happy ending! Yay!

It’s unfortunate that because “decent” used units private sale no one around here wants to do a refundable deposit . . If they hold a unit for you pending inspection they want a “cut” for days lost on the market . . . Understandable but sad . . .

All a bust. My wife and I were considering getting back into an RV . Went to some shows and took a close look at several brands and models. The over all quality of materials used and workmanship was poor. It seems like the RV industry is going down the tubes.

All metals give a different reading from aluminum, alloy or steel 🤔 so be aware of the surroundings where you take those. It could be misleading 😉

I really hate when designers put heavy equipment (stove/fridge etc) on slide outs. I think that’s asking for problems given so many slide issues to begin with . . Jmho . . .

LWR. Now that we got that out of the way.......since you are building a team of endorsed inspectors, perhaps keeping a database of similar makes/models would be helpful in pointing out areas to particularly assess during the inspection. Just an idea and perhaps not my best one.
It is a great one as we are building this private Endorsed FB group with those specifics in order to help and fast forward observations 😉

Are you allowed to call it mold on your reports? In AZ, home inspectors can't specifically call out "presence of mold" in their reports because they're not "certified mold remediation specialists" or whatever.
They can only call out "presence of dark staining" or similar. C4BO FTW...and yes - "good" ones, too, please.
Same here for the "mold" statement.
But once in a while, we can confirm "presence " of mold with a test. Then they can confirm with specialist if need be 😉

No.. as it would be hindering to the concentration of what we got to go through. It's not like when we endorse during our workshop teaching them what to look for. If you know what I mean!

I am an avid camper. And have been going on, over 50 years now. I've had an assortment of, vehicles. From Chevy vans. To, 30 foot long, Fleetwood Southwind, motorhome. Along with a 25,000 pound, Mercedes-Benz, Diesel Box Truck.
And after a 50+ year lifetime of Engineering. I've always been prepared for Technical, curveballs. But these, Beautiful, late-model, Motorhomes. That cost what they do. In the Prohibitive Range of pricing. I think these issues. You have pointed out here. A lot has not been well thought-out nor,, executed well. And frankly. I'm appalled. For what these things cost. These stupid issues are, unforgivable. While they can also introduce, health issues. And for older retirees. That's, not good.
And so? I think that would be a dealbreaker for me. I'm rather shocked. At some of these floozy issues. I think they have Substandard Quality Control.
And seeming. That the better part of my last 50 years of my career. Not only have I been Engineering. But I was also expected. To handle, Quality Control. I stood for Engineering Excellence. We all had Professional Pride. In the work that we did. We wanted to be the very Best. And we were. You have to want to be the best. Otherwise that will not happen.
I think you have a great RUclips channel here. Thankfully, I am pretty good with Quality Control, myself. And these would be issues. I'd, rather not have to deal with.
But Reality rears its ugly head. There appears to be, No Perfect, Motorhome.
And so it really comes down to. What one is willing to put up with. What one can effectively, deal with. And mitigate the problems.
But if the problems are based upon, lousy design, lousy execution, lousy assembly? One, cannot really, redesign the entire wheel. As it can become, excessive. Depending upon who built them. Some are better than others. And it will cost you.
But I have no money anymore. I have no budget. I will have to rely upon a New, Used, Old, White trash, motorhome, for myself. And invest myself of my old ones. It's a 1986. I've owned now for 12 years. And it has been trashed in storage by rodents. Even though I had, mouse poison and rat poison out. They ate it and enjoyed it and died. And then their family members came on board and destroyed all my electrical wiring and PVC water pipes and freshwater tank. There's other damage also. It's a mess. And after 12 years of ownership. It's time for it to go bye-bye, I think. I had planned to keep it longer. I had never planned on this kind of, disastrous destruction. It's a calamity. That will cost me thousands of dollars to have fixed. More than the value of the vehicle. And that's a huge bummer for me.
My husband of 22 years died a few years ago suddenly. I've lost the house. He did not have a will written up. We were only talking about it when he turned 60. And dropped dead weeks later.. While I was out of town.. 1600 miles away. I was devastated. I still am.
And so now I can only drive a single vehicle. When we used to caravan with both. My life has been turned upside down and devastated. This was nothing I had expected.
And so now I can't afford, Jack Shit. This is not good. I only leased my house. I have to be out soon. My lease is up at the end of June. Though I believe I can stay on until the end of August. If necessary? Perhaps to the end of December? Though I don't wanted to be that. I want to get out of Texas. Before the end of the year. The sooner the better. And I've got major financial complications I'm facing.
No way. Am I going to stick myself in an efficiency apartment and stay put. In my own chosen jail cell. No thank you. I need to be Free. I need to be,, outdoors. I need to be one with nature again. I need to go camping! I have been camping now in over nine years. As I have been taking care. Of my elderly mother.
Mom turned 100 in January. But she has started to fail, miserably. She is now in Hospice Care. I have been, Emancipated. But I am not in the position. To care for a 100-year-old. And she wants to stay put where she is now. This will be her final stand. I'll be surprised if she makes it through the end of the year. Though she could. She could still live for years. But I don't think so. I've seen a huge change in the past 3 months. I don't know who this person is anymore. Though she is and always has been my mother. This is now a different person at 100.. And it's so sad to see this incredibly mighty woman fail like this. She was incredible. And to see her reduced like this. It's so incredibly sad.
It's like I'm already grieving the loss of my mother. But she has not yet passed on. Her mind is going badly. At least she knew who I was still. Though she seemed surprised to see me. And asked me what I was doing there? I came to see you mom. And do you like it here? She said no. I asked her. Would you like to come home? She also said no. Okey-dokey then mom. It'll be best if you stay here. And then she becomes nonverbal. I asked her if she wanted some of her personal things? She said we have to talk about that. I said okay. She did not say another word. Okey-dokey then mom. I guess you are set. I will see you again soon.
It's terribly troubling to see her this way. I don't think it's doing anything good for my health. I feel guilt. That I really can no longer care for her, solely by myself. Though? She took care of both her mother and her elder aunt. She took care of her mother until she was 98. She took care of her aunt until she was 99. But she could no longer care for them. And had to put them in a nursing home at that age. She told me she always felt terrible, guilt. For having done that to them. But she said she had no choice. She could no longer care for them herself, either. And mom was the best at that. Far better than I have been. And I cared for her until she was 100. Now others have to do it for me and for her. It's a nice nursing home. It's modest. They seem to be a very nice staff. Though I do think they are understaffed. But who isn't today?
I have to come up with something for myself in the next couple months. I'm not sure what I'm going to do? I feel very hamstrung. I'm having issues with, the Texas government officials. And the simply dreadful, ruthless, discriminatory issues I've had with these, psycho Nazi fascist Ku Klux Klan member pigs! As I have been both physically, professionally and financially attacked. By these righteous Texan psychos. They are the most sick in the head. Of any American. They are truly horrible, horrible, Homo sapiens. Rife with bigotry, discrimination and the worst incompetence.
RVing used to be for folks. Who generally couldn't afford, a luxury existence on the road. And was largely designed for, lower income Americans. Whereas in the past 10-15 years. It has taken a huge swing. Toward the only for the very wealthy. Who can afford hotels and rental cars. I can't, anymore since I retired. And then had my retirement money, also stolen from me. And I don't know how I'm going to live or survive this way now? As it seems, Americans have gotten pretty shitty, hostile, violent, bigoted, discriminatory and just completely over the top and whacked out. Everybody wants to point the finger of blame at everybody else. And it is the pot calling the kettle, black. We are rife with scumbags today. The worst ever.
And so the possibility exists. I might just have to pay the money. To get my old trashed, motorhome in, usable condition again? Or to convert my, former work oriented diesel box truck. Modified into a Super-C Class Motorhome? But it's 40 years old already. And no parts are available for it in the USA. They all have to be ordered through Germany. The parts are expensive and the shipping has gotten almost prohibitive. Most of the mechanics have either retired or died. That know how to work on this vehicle. That's been out of production since, 1990. So that might not be a wise decision to make?
I just think I should try to acquire. A newer old, Motorhome. Something not older than 25 years old. As that is what I am now facing. And all my savings gone.. I am thoroughly devastated. People are just, no good anymore. Everybody wants to be a thief. Everybody wants to attack the most vulnerable people they can find. Such as, myself. Profoundly disabled and handicapped. A 68 almost 69-year-old senior citizen. And a widow. And I don't like being attacked by psychopathic Texans. They are horrible Homo sapiens! They have Zero, redeeming features about them. They are worthless Homo sapiens. And they don't know how to act like Americans. Though they certainly know how to operate like fascist Nazi bricks. Because they are.
