I’m actually listening to your audiobook as well. Also very interesting and informative. Nicely done! It’s listening, doesn’t feel like information overload. Thank goodness! Thanks for sharing such great information!
6:00 Thanks for the advice. Indiegogo is definitely the best option for a indie series for flexibility funding and concept stage approval. Quick Question though, what if you only have a social media account on RUclips.
This is amazing, thank you! Any insight on a local service based startup? I'm trying how to reconcile a crowdfunding campaign can be successful and funded by primarily local backers who would be able to receive the benefit. Thank you!
hi thanks for the info but do the campaigns themselves have a chance of being picked up just from people browsing on the platforms? or does my network need to be solid? My network really is thin and weak.
Hey! Thank you for the very informative video. I am looking to start a planner business, so would you recommend Kickstarter or Indiegogo? I smashed that thumbs up btw 😎
Hello! Both could work. I'd take a look at the planner campaigns that have launched on KS and IGG though and see which one has had more successful launches.
I'd use the search features on both of the platforms at take a look at relevant water bottle campaigns to see which one has more success with that category!
Good video Mark. I know you are very much tied to the two funding models mentioned in the vid, but if I reach out to your team do you ONLY advise on these two platforms? The project I am looking to fund does not immediately jump out from the drop down lists. IF my project did not naturally fit into one of the funding areas, would your team advise on the most beneficial crowdfunding platform for my product? or would I be pigeonholed into something because you have a kickback in place?
Good question. First off, we get no kickbacks from Kickstarter or Indiegogo. We use those two platforms because we've found them to perform the best for the type of products we help launch. So if your product wouldn't be a good fit for those platforms, I wouldn't feel confident that we'd be the best partner for you. - Mark

There are smart glasses that have been successful on both platforms, so I would look at the other things I talked about to help you make your decision.
A film needing low 5 digit funding (say $25K though more is better). I wonder what my best platform might be. Kickstarter's all-or-nothing thing is a bit off-putting. But I hear the flexible route Indiegogo offers does not convey to contributors the sense of urgency that brings funds in before the deadline. I kind of want to try Indiegogo for its flexibility and post-campaign funding .. but I don't want to be trapped in Smallville either. Do you have a suggestion for my above situation? Is Indiegogo still pretty decent for films?
In general, I think that creative projects are better on Kickstarter than Indiegogo (even though it was founded for indie films). With that said, if the all-or-nothing model of KS is a dealbreaker, I think that you can still find success on IGG. There are film projects still funding there, but the amount are much less than KS.
You can… sort of. Indiegogo has a program called Indiegogo InDemand where you can keep pre-selling after your Kickstarter. But if you launch on Indiegogo first, you can’t launch on Kickstarter after.

If you plan to run any ads on Facebook/Instagram, you’ll want to have accounts there too!
@@launchboom_official I’m not so sure if I want to run any ads on Facebook and instagram. I normally don’t trust most social media sites.
Great video! Very informative! Thanks for sharing! 🏆
You're very welcome, glad you liked it!

Why would or could you not run your project on both @ the same time??
You can brother, many creators and companies do launch in both.
Which platform would be best to launch a campaign for a new food product?
This is amazing, thank you! Any insight on a local service based startup? I'm trying how to reconcile a crowdfunding campaign can be successful and funded by primarily local backers who would be able to receive the benefit. Thank you!
You could still use either of these platforms for your local crowdfunding campaign!
Great video - looks like a lot of people get their funding, so I'm creating a proposal to build an all-American hypercar here in Texas !
Hell yeah!
hi thanks for the info but do the campaigns themselves have a chance of being picked up just from people browsing on the platforms? or does my network need to be solid? My network really is thin and weak.
Hey Mark,
If just 20 to 30% comes from the platform, where does the other 70-80% come mostly from?
Please and Thank you!
Ads, emails, PR, your own network, etc

@@launchboom_official Thanks a lot. And sorry. I don’t think kickbacks was the term I should have used 😅 How do your fees work?

I am writing children's books. There will be an ongoing series. Which platform is the best for me?.
Most likely Kickstarter!
Kickstarter has "More strict project approval process"? Then why does it have a lot of scammers on their platform?
If i am about to launch a tech product (smart galsses), which platform is more suitable for me?
