I don't know why I randomly had a thought that wanted to know about this but it's interesting
It's not as complicated as I thought
Same bud
same here bro
Same
Same 😂
I have lived until my adulthood without knowing that people have built such a complex machine just to make subways.
Ya just gotta eat fresh!
@@dashdashdash_ Jared wants to take you out to eat fresh at Subway
reminds me of that drill used to destroy the wall of basingsey in the avatar last airbender
Ryan Yu TRUE I REMEMBER
Well except the drill is not a cone shaped
There is no war in ba sing se.
Or the enemy from the Incredibles
Damn I never knew how they made them! Thanks insider
I see it in discovery sciene in malaysia . they build underriver
We will be having it soon here in Metro Manila Philippines, its under construction now. Just got curious how they dig and make tunnels.
this is definitely way more modern then how it was done in the 20th century also wonder if they ever find anything digging that deep like old skeletal remains, treasures etc
This isn't always the case you know. This is how MODERN subways are built, not ALL subways. NY Subway and Philadelphia lines were built using cut and cover. the dug a hole, redirected the utility pipes/lines, built the tunnel and station, put on a roof, restore the pipe and then cover it all back up. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/15th_Street_station_(SEPTA)#/media/File:15th_Street_SEPTA.JPG. Clearly a cut and cover station. which is why the poles are holding the road up.
Kevin Howard Most of the subway was constructed with cut and cover, with some lines built as an elevated.
The newest subway segments were constructed with a tunnel boring machines to reduce surface disruptions.
Do they do spot tests first to see if they're digging through pipes or underground wiring? What if they dig into an open underground cave?
I think those type tunnels are way too deep to worry about those things
tunnels for subway are like 4 to 5 stories building underground
And after it's done, how do they put the trains underground? Do they use electricity or some kind of a fuel? How fast does it go exactlу? How do people get qualified to drive a subway? Are there ones just for practice??? I have so many questions
so were gonna have this in the philippines so im here
How innovative.
I hope we could have this in our city someday. ^_^
What's your city?
city name
it reminds me of azula's drill on ba sing se
how does it dig curves?
John Daker probably by turning?
The way that your brain can't measure
That's what they just showed...
@@mallikasharma13 at which point did they show how this machine digs curves?
@@RababaInc unless you don't use your mind you can understand from even the thumbnail itself. The time thing in the front rotates while moving forward cutting all the dust, think of those fancy kitchen appliances where you put a carrot and it comes out shredded. And as shown in 1:00 the dust is sent backwards so it can keep on moving.
Ahhh its so addicting watching these Insider videos... Idk why :/
That’s ace but how does it handle corners?
That's why there is no corner in subway, dude.
It's all just soft turn in subway network.
Bangladesh is starting MRT1 project after sucessful MRT6. In this project, underground is the way to go. Interesting machines.
Same as that done in Jakarta, succes for MRT Jakarta!!
its a transport and also can be use as a bomb shelter
Amazing feat of work
Remind me of the Boring Company
same
Well that is literally what they do, they 'bore'.
Legend has it that insider replies to comments
So much for the tunnel boring where the trains run, but what about the underground platform concourse and interconnecting passageways ?
Damn, that's a feat of engineering!
Amazingly incredible...
Its like from these worm games but sooo much slower😪
It's a giant machine pushing tons of dirt. (and maybe potatoes) What do you expect?
Sa wakas magkakaroon na ng subway sa Manila
Wow that’s so cool 😦🤘🏻
What does it do with the leftover dirt?
Am I going to get lost I the sea of comments if so REMEMBER MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
Mya Noble I will
Evelin Lopez thank you!
Mya Noble this id a small RUclips account so probably not
Mya Noble Stop doing this. It doesn't have anything to do with the video. Please go away with your unrelated comment
Mya Noble I'll never let go
But how did they do that in Berlin and London 100 years ago ?? 🤔🤔
lots and lots of shovels
That's actually incredible
But how do we make sure we will not damage any possible building foundation built above the ground?
Me thinking about subways in bed at 10 am 😅
This is what Nairobi city needs not stupidly expensive expressway
This is how tunnels are being built or made in Sydney using this machine
USA😎
I THOUGHT IT WAS TALKING ABOUT THE SANDWICH PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey thats the machine on oceans 13.
What's with the 70s glam rock over the video
with a spinning didlo
How about subways that crosses the rivers and channels?
Xtianz The 63rd Street subway tunnel in Manhattan, Roosevelt Island, and Queens used prefabricated tunnel sections I believe.
*What's the name of the mchine again?*
Mel. R. This is a tunnel boring machine.
I love japan they are the most advance train!
Hey not all Japanese people are trains!
This is tunnel boring machine! i was made a precentation about this machine to my lecturer around a month ago.
Nah they don’t do this in NYC for the most part. They dig up the whole ground literally and then cover it all up.
Paano kung bumaha? -Bam Aquino-
Haahahhaha BUSET na Bam Aquino nayan 😂
Hahahaha
It's takes a long time
i thougt you were talking about subway fasr food
wow
Malaysia dah buat dah
Completely ignores cut and cover and this being a recent thing but ok.
bridges dams subways railways tunnels and highways..........
my country was so poor that they cant have this
Ahhhhh so THATS how they built the NYC subway system in 1901………🥴
I feel claustrophobic
Do you actually know what claustrophic could be? It is the fear of small spaces
Why don't they put the entire boring machine on display since it's not economical to dig it out?
ryannayr140 What are you talking about?
Because then it wouldn't have a use and mate its easy to get out, it can be broken all the way down to the blades and built back up again when needed, almost every item is detachable.
"Paano kapag may Baha" - BAM Aquino
HI GUYS
