Best thing i love about these uploads is that when you actually get used to the ridiculously poor audio and you don't think it can get any worse...3/4 thru it does.
Certainly, aside from the awful sound of the VHS, unfortunately, I must remind you, once you're fully immersed in the race, I can assure you sincerely that you relive that intensity from that time without any problem.
First NASCAR race I had watched....hooked forever! Winner became my favourite driver; still is (didnt want to say who won and spoil it for any newcomers!)
Randall Dubin Thanks for yet another great race memory. It's bittersweet to see The Rock again. BOO on NASCAR for leaving such a competitive and fun to watch track.
gabryelwanderley what a strange and incomprehensible comment. NASCAR provides races a week or two after the actual race. If you can't watch it live watch it on RUclips.
Great Stuff! Thanks a lot. Sure do miss those days. Loved the tenacity of Earnhardt Sr. Somebody (DW) would pass him, and he'd change his line and battle back to re-pass. One of the best for sure.
I never understood the Alan Kulwicki deal. Obviously Alan was a clean driver and one of the best all-time... but something happened. With all the cameras and post-race shows (and social media) we rarely miss any detail - but back then you had to read a newspaper a week later and hope there was a quote. My all-time favorite Gant had a real shot at the win and Kulwicki, laps down, just wiped him out. Harry Gant, Mark Martin and now maybe Martin Truex... the hard luck drivers of NASCAR - they get hosed every weekend.
i want to say that it changed in 1996. 95 at the earliest. 94 was when earnhardt clinched his 7th title and i had tickets in turn 1 and they definitely had pits on both sides of the track.
I know not every Rockingham race was like this, but has ANY race at Kansas, Kentucky, Chicago, Las Vegas, California, Homestead, New Hampshire, or Phoenix EVER been like this? I say no.
Yeah, sad. NASCAR has forgotten it's roots. Rockingham and N. Wilkesboro RIP. There is only one race in Darlington now. If it is gone next then it is all over for NASCAR. A fan no more.
Friend ... You don't have race: Miller High Life 400 (Richmond-1989) available? The owner of the video deleted his account on RUclips and we have no other option !!!
Rusty's year..was my very first race. was 11 yrs old...i live 30 min from Rockingham went to many races after that though the yrs i hate it that they don't race there anymore the drivers love the track and they need more tracks like this in cup now too damn boring as is. Back when they had HP, had to actually drive, actually painted the cars not this shit wrap that they use now, cars sounded so much better, .men, not little spoiled rich kids with no personality.

Well, he's my favorite driver too. Although I made my decision at the age of 6 that number 6 should be the one I cheer for.
I miss all the old makes. buick, olds, Pontiac
2 of those aren’t even in business any more sadly
@@sportstrap4285 thanks NAFTA.
I don't know if it sounds weird or not, but it seemed like the drivers personality matched the make of the car they drove. 👍

Thank you. I've been looking for this race for a long time.
Great save- Sterling Marlin 1989 AC Delco 500
I wish they still did the starting grid like that.
Nascar should still be racing at the Rock!
Funny how a lot of crew members they called out here later became crew chiefs and some still are.
Mark Martin's first ever Cup win.

Maybe the sun got in his eyes or his throttle hung up.We will never know.
Did Rockingham always have pit stalls on both sides? I don’t recall Rockingham ever having back stretch pits.

11:25 race start
The best part freezes up.

Not for NASCAR. Nearly all of those tracks have memorable moments for IndyCar and CART.
Those are words you never hear anymore "It's a sold out crowd". Now we read about how many seats have been torn down. RIP Rockingham.

@@lesmach6495 North Wilkesboro All Star Race this weekend! So happy they are racing there!
Rusty needed a little help to beat the MAN.
Was Bob Jenkins on the roof of the control tower?
Yes. Back long ago, many of the race opens were done like that.
Wow, Alan Kulwicki freaking ruined Harry Gant's day.
'Ole Harry Cant.

Drats! Couldnt be bothered to include the post race interview?
What software are you using to edit videos and render it in 720p HD?
Actually, I used WinX DVD Ripper to render this in HD.
