    My philosophy is if I don’t know the number I don’t answer. They can always leave a message if it’s important. Then you have a chance to investigate.
    And anything that wants an immediate answer or money is just out there to take you.
    Call you credit card company and tell them you were scammed, they should back charge the amount from the scammer and refund you.

    I'm a boomer, also 60, not senile and not demented so I don't understand how easy it's supposed to be to scam me. this is not a challenge to those that feel they are protecting Josh. I don't even think his comments are ageist, just a lack of knowledge of boomers and his youth. We boomers thought the same thing about those that would have been "boomers" to us. you don't think of how wrong you are until you get to that age. apparently Josh will look back on this when he is 60 and will try to kick his own behind so I'm not trying to do it while he is young. So people relax on the misstep of the young, as he just proved, getting scammed is not about age, it's about falling for the extreme efforts people put into ripping off their fellow humans. I'm Happy to be 60 and a boomer, there are worst options out there!!! LOL

    Josh, I am so sorry to hear this - I’m a 53 years old Irish gay man in the U.K. and the amount of spam emails and phone calls I get is so annoying - these guys are so good at spamming people and they sound so convincing - because of the way that state laws in Ireland have worked since 2009, my friend in Ireland got very badly scammed just after my Dad died in 2018, knocking out her computer for days, precisely at a time when she needed to deal with important legal documents relating to my Dad’s estate, as he had appointed her as Executrix of his will before he died and it caused no end of problems because everything relating to the Irish state is only handled electronically according to Irish state law - we had to get in IT experts and the police involved but it delayed the whole process for 2 years for something that should have only taken 6 months

    I’m a legit boomer. But I used to work in the media and learned from interviewing a ton of financial experts to NEVER give out my personal data over the phone unless I initiate the call and know exactly who I’m talking to. For example, it’s ok to give info to your doctor’s office or some place like that. But government agencies don’t ever ask for your information over the phone.

  • @gnirolnamlerf593
    @gnirolnamlerf593 7 месяцев назад +1

    Um, you get a copyright or a trademark for a logo, not a patent. Why did you apply at the patent office, which is for inventions? You don't see "patent pending" in a book, unless the book was produced by some new technical process, which I have also never seen, but which is, I suppose, possible. But then it is the process that is patented, not the contents of the book.
    Anyway, your credit card company should be able to settle this easily. I hope so.
    Rule: Never give a credit card number over the phone. Never give your phone number over the phone or say that xxx-xxx-xxxx is or isn't your phone number. Or your address, of course, unless you have initiated the call to a business you know.

It’s young inexperienced people your age and below who are online all the time and people in their mid 80s who are senile or have dementia. Obviously the amounts of money differ as young people typically have far less money to lose, those in their 80s have property and life savings.
